Damaged Dolk :(, by Monkey on Dec 13, 2007 16:43:31 GMT 1, Ill freely admit that it was me that Printsonline bought the Dolk from as i have nothing to hide. Im 100% sure that he will be the first to say the print could not have been any better packed/protected and as i told him via email and telephone what pisses me off is that DHL did not give the print the care/respect in transit they should. Need some advice on where we both stand on this, The print was sent to his work address and his receptionist signed for it, We both know its DHL thats at fault but what happens next......

Damaged Dolk :(, by rolyateel on Dec 13, 2007 17:13:57 GMT 1, i think your problem will be that the receptionist signed for it & didn't make a note that it was damaged most carrier paperwork states "received in good condition......" where you sign for it
good luck
i frankly wouldn't send a framed item with any carrier

Damaged Dolk :(, by seidbereit on Dec 13, 2007 19:36:23 GMT 1, Aside from the unnecessary weight it must have added to be shipped, surely sending a frame with glass in it is a very risky thing to do. Has anyone else ever sent anything fully framed and glazed? Real shame about the scraping on the print. Hope you can get it sorted out with insurance.

Damaged Dolk :(, by Monkey on Dec 13, 2007 22:39:04 GMT 1, Your absolutley right Teeeeeeee, DHL are a set of fucking cowboys. Forum members beware if you do intend of sending a framed print DO NO USE DHL. Got off the phone from them earlier after a very heated conversation with some jumped up jobsworth basically saying, Item damaged?, Out of pocket? Tough shit. For the print i sent printsonline to arrive in that condition DHL must have been using it as a fucking frisbee...........

Not a print, but the only time I ever had any experience of DHL was when I flew home from Manchester between xmas and new year about four, five years ago. When I arrived here I realised I'd left my keys at my folks place - me mam had the keys picked up by DHL but they didn't arrive til 6 days later because the driver who was "delivering" them couldn't read the house number the other DHL bloke had written down (who picked up and packed the keys) and had been knocking on the wrong door for days. Spent nearly a week on a mates couch through new year. Rubbish company.

Damaged Dolk :(, by morrissey1 on Dec 13, 2007 22:56:07 GMT 1, and if you are going to send it framed...it will cost more, but change the glass with plexi glass....it's a lot more durable, and looks just as good...if you can work out the sizing of it.
