Creases On Borders of Prints - Views, by Cocteau 101 on Nov 28, 2007 0:01:38 GMT 1, How seriously do people take creases near deckled edges. Not on the image but on the white borders. I received a print recently with a crease on the border that to be honest will make fuck all difference when it is mounted. It may only be seen if float mounted but I prefer a mount anyway. Just wondered what peoples general view on this was. Do you get hung up on it or let it pass.
Now anything on the image - that's a different story!

Creases On Borders of Prints - Views, by curiousgeorge on Nov 28, 2007 0:07:26 GMT 1, Depending on the paper type, i would maybe venture into diy repair.Even if a crease was hidden behind the mount i would still know it's there. I'm don't have ocd i promise

Creases On Borders of Prints - Views, by craigf on Nov 28, 2007 0:08:22 GMT 1, I guess it depends on how much you paid and whether you were aware at the time. If top $ I'd be a bit pee'd off, but it wouldn't stop me buying if it would be covered by the mount when framed. Whether it is one for the portfolio or one for the wall would make a difference, but all art should really go on the wall shouldn't it

Creases On Borders of Prints - Views, by f5ers on Nov 28, 2007 0:08:34 GMT 1, Its not mint therefore if selling unframed it will effect the value (depending on what the print is) Fact is people pay less for damaged goods

Creases On Borders of Prints - Views, by manty on Nov 28, 2007 0:09:27 GMT 1, I think it only matters if and when you come to sell it
I bought grannies signed which has a very very light crease on the top corner ( looks like an imperfection in the paper) Its no problem to me as I have it framed with a mount, but i think I might struggle if I came to sell it, because it isnt 'perfect'

Depends on how bad the crease is. If its a deckled edge I'm probably going to float it so the crease could put me off.
I noticed the Queen Vic on ebay at the moment has a crease above the number and it's significant enough to put me off buying this one. It's my favourite image, so needs to be perfect.
