Bump

Bump, by seidbereit on Nov 14, 2007 20:41:04 GMT 1, Hi,
this might be only my second post, but it's also only my first stupid question - there will be many more in the future. Here goes:
What do you all mean when you just post "bump"? Been reading a lot of threads where this comes up and everyone seems to know immediately what it means as if it were the written term for tapping your nose knowingly. Would anyone care to enlighten me before I go mad trying to work it out from the context (which is difficult when all that's said is "bump" ). Thanks for that.
To maybe deflect from my ignorance though... can I maybe ask you for your honest opinions (if you have any) on Charles Dada? I recently bought a really nice set of "This is not a grenade/a god/love/art" prints (all */25) and really quite like them, particularly the first three - the last one will need a bit longer. Does anyone else here rate him? One for the future maybe? Not your cup of tea? Have to admit I've not closely followed anything he's done previously.
Would be interested to hear your views on this and - if the rest of the threads I've read through are anything to go by - I'm sure to be entertained by a few of them too.
Cheers
SEID BEREIT

Bump, by yeah7 on Nov 14, 2007 20:49:33 GMT 1, "Bump" is used by someone who wants the thread or topic to re-apear at the top of the message board, so to "bump it to the top". So if someone asks a question and no one answers the question, the topic/'thread may dissapear under the new topics, so they may bump it to the top to bring it to attention again.

Ah that's what it is... Thanks! It always seemed to come up in threads about prints for sale/swap so I assumed it was advice to bump it onto ebay. Get it now. Thanks again.
Anyone got any opinion on Dada though? I can take it, I promise.....

Please be aware that there is some etiquete to the practice of bumping. The key being to make your bump sufficently interesting that no one quite realised that it was acutally a bump in the first place. Generally requiring the same skills as found in the romance department.

Bump, by pkt75 on Nov 14, 2007 22:04:05 GMT 1, You can also use this word if you are going to walk into something, but remember to add 'ed' to the end if it has already happened.
