Football Ground Prints - Xmas Presents, by crazyarsemother on Nov 10, 2007 11:03:25 GMT 1, Dear all,
I am an art student in my final year at Loughborough (mature student, went to Bristol first hence my Banksy interest). To help fund my course I sell prints of local scenes in a contemporary style. My work at college is very different and this more of a hobby.
Ready for Christmas I have produced a football ground series. I am a big footy fan but have grown out of pencil drawings of Wayne Rooney or Michael Owen celebrating goals.
Please take a look at the football grounds, I have Notts Forest, Notts County, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton, Fulham, Charlton and West Ham finished with Derby and Leicester in the pipe line.

You can click on buy one then view framed print to see the print in its mount.
Eventually I want to do every club in the League so if you want one of a particular club then please PM me and I will pop you on my list. When I get 4 or 5 takers then its worth me getting my pencil out and heading there. Otherwise its as and when.
A special rate of ยฃ30 (plus postage - ยฃ2.80) for mounted prints to Forum members. They make great presents.

Thanks for your time and support.

They are quite popular. I don't have time though to push them because of my course.
Thanks for your support though.

Football Ground Prints - Xmas Presents, by crazyarsemother on Nov 10, 2007 11:27:08 GMT 1, As an Arsenal Fan I am finding Old Trafford and White Hard Lane hard. Anfeild was a commission which helped. White Hart Lane is actually not a great ground to get a good view of.
Mike can you suggest a view of Old Trafford? Need to be a bit of distance away because of height issues.

I'd think a decent place is if you go past the ground on your left on the main Chester Road, past the Ford garage you'll get to a retail park on your left, turn left after the retail park (at Harry Ramsdens) then next left... you should get a decent view from there I'd think

Football Ground Prints - Xmas Presents, by teatwosugars on Nov 10, 2007 14:44:28 GMT 1, James,
I must admit that when I started reading this thread I thought I would be dissappointed, but I'm actually really impressed with these.
I love the way you've done them, and I especially like your personal and conscientious approach of visiting the grounds to create the pieces.
There's also a + from me for including the mighty fortress of Upton Park! ;D

Football Ground Prints - Xmas Presents, by crazyarsemother on Nov 10, 2007 16:02:10 GMT 1, Thanks very much. Like I say they do sell. I have them in a number of galleries in Bristol and Nottingham but I have left the work whilst I concentrate on my paintings and screen printing at college. The football grounds are good fun.
Ashton Gate is a must and will happen.

Football Ground Prints - Xmas Presents, by pastiepie on Nov 11, 2007 5:02:46 GMT 1, I like your style, something different at least. Your kind of limiting yourself specialising in footy grounds. Would be interested to a see a portrait / landscape if you've done any?

i wouldn't do highbury just now, all you'll get is some concrete and a load of cranes
as for the home of football? well, you could walk up from holloway road and take it in from the south/south-eastern aspect, or walk across the footbridge form the north - as if you were walking round from highbury, both good views of what is clearly the foremost stadium in the country, if not the world.

Football Ground Prints - Xmas Presents, by robinbanks on Nov 11, 2007 12:41:11 GMT 1, I really like your stuff James. I must admit I was more than a little sceptical when I read the title of the thread, but was happily surprised when i clicked the link.
I think Newcastle would be a great place to visit, and not just for the stadium... Grey Street, Tyne Bridge immediately spring to mind.

Football Ground Prints - Xmas Presents, by crazyarsemother on Nov 11, 2007 12:43:44 GMT 1, I got some views of highbury just as the building work started so should be okay. I am really looking forward to the Art Deco straight lines and little cannon features and such. PastiePie (is that your real name?) if you look about the site you will see that the football grounds is just one area that I am keen on. Sick of 80s water colours and pencil drawings of football players and crowds. Thanks for all your kind words.
