Bristol/London next weekend, by Ron Goldsurfer on Jul 19, 2009 14:36:06 GMT 1, I would love to get us much info on whatยดs going on in Bristol between the 23rd and 25th and in London from 25th to 28th. What exhibition to see, music to hear/see and restuarants, pubs etc not to miss. Everything good is of interest.
Please, all info is valuable as it was a long time I was in London and at that time didยดnt know anything about the street art scene. And have never been to Bristol. s**t, I think I have travelling fever
THANX!

Bristol/London next weekend, by gerry on Jul 20, 2009 20:54:08 GMT 1, Surprised no-one's replied yet, here are some thoughts for the Bristol side of things anyway.
Shows wise, there's the Stanley Donwood show at the Weapon of Choice Gallery on St Michael's Hill that's definitely worth a look - weaponofchoicegallery.blogspot.com/
Nikill's also got a show up at the Golden Lion on Gloucester Road, depends if you're only on foot and where you're staying and that, well worth seeing though - www.goldenlionbristol.co.uk
and there's that Banksy show too.
Drinking wise, depends what you're into, but you could do far worse than the Bell on Hillgrove Street off Jamaica Street for starters.

POW shop is right there. Stolen Space up the road from there too at the Truman brewery, they'll have some Japanese artists on show.
Tate modern has a futurism exhibition at the moment, I'll be checking that out soon. Whilst there the Hayward has an interesting installation event on, walking in my mind.
For street art, you're in a good spot, simply walk up and off Commercial Street and great eastern, loads to see there, grab a camera and see what you can find.
Music - Rhythm Factory is right on where you're staying, mainly unsigned, very hit and miss but usually free and you can always leave.
Not great help I'm afraid, but hopefully a little bit.
