The stock caps on alien are outline caps. Many people use outlines for stencilling but I prefer something slower and more diffuse.

I usually use blue dots. These have the advantage of working well on all cans (MTN, Alien, Belton). If I need to fill big areas in the stencil I use orange dots (although these don't work on alien) and for very fine detail I use gold dots. All of these have the advantage of soft edges to a greater or lesser extent. Therefore less underspray.

I really recommend using a low pressure can for stencilling.

when i do stencil i usually empty the pressure in my cans anyway
(hold the can upside down and keeeeeeep on spraying for a about 3 or so minutes)
its really good for stencilling etc

i recently ditched my halfords cans and upgraded to montana golds. i like grey skinny bananas and blue dot soft caps.

Blue dots nice alround low pressure cap work with beltons as well..
