monster spray paint, by Replete on Jul 21, 2008 20:23:43 GMT 1, monster is ultra thick paint and prone to clog caps and difficult to work with. Better off with belton or mtn gold. Alien MTN is pretty good though but not in the cold.

monster spray paint, by EYESAW on Jul 22, 2008 21:19:47 GMT 1, I've used monster quite alot used to be real cheap not so sure now.. I think its very similar to montana black IMO. As run pig run said the colours are nice and bright.. A good paint for use with a fat cap for those real quick colourfull peices like you see on trains.. But i'am a BELTON BOY now..

monster spray paint, by danny1 on Jul 22, 2008 21:21:04 GMT 1, and when you have finished with the colour make sure you empty the internals by turning the can upside down and spraying....
it seems to take a while to dry too...not good for layered stencils

monster spray paint, by BlightSociety on Jul 23, 2008 2:42:19 GMT 1, Monster is crazy thick. You have to spend serious time shaking it up to get it mixed right. I’m not a big fan but I’ve been told they recently changed the recipe and it’s allot better than it was a few years ago.
I like Montana gold for canvas work because its low pressure gives you control and the matt finish stops you getting reflections.
MTN or Montana gold is where it’s at for streets though. Sabotaz do some crazy bright colours too but it’s hard to get hold of in the UK.

monster spray paint, by Replete on Nov 9, 2008 21:14:59 GMT 1, Alien is ok paint but after painting with it for a year I can guarantee you it isnt the best paint for detailing and canvas work due to it's higher pressure/slower drying time and is far too glossy leading to light glare on the canvas. Belton or Montana gold kick its arse by miles but Alien does come in a nice small tin and has a few nice colours.
I'd like to try some 94 though as it could be interesting and MTN have been doing some good stuff with the nitro paint.

monster spray paint, by linkd95 on Nov 9, 2008 21:34:48 GMT 1, Really it doesnt matter what paint you use unless you want bright or dull colours but it all depends on the cap, there r loads of different types of caps e.g Calligrapy caps (which is very good for detail).

Thats kind of true as you can get by painting with any paint but the type of paint and the way it's layered will massively effect the final result.
Some brands just look poor and lifeless and are real sloppy and unforgiving to work with. Others will react badly with other media or other brands of paint causing crazing/cracking/cupping and fogging.
Trust me on this as I use and have used practically every spraypaint (and other media like oils, pencils, charcoal and acrylics)ever made in combination from most of the more commercial graf brands to car paints and even paint used for coating barbecues and radiators.
I find the best cap for detail is the maclaim cap (grey dot) as it has the slowest release of paint of any cap due to the sleeve in the cap that hasn't a slit in it like most other caps.
But it is all about finding what works best for you but there are ways to make things easier.

monster spray paint, by Replete on Nov 9, 2008 23:15:42 GMT 1, yeah I can vouch for valley of chrome to be one of the best places to get it from as they have great nextday service and I've never known them to screw up an order in all the years I've dealt with them and if they dont have a colour which is rare they tell you beforehand.
Plus they carry the full range of caps and most of the extensive molowtow range.

monster spray paint, by BlightSociety on Nov 23, 2008 23:29:52 GMT 1, I like my work to be bold and Alien colour's are on the week side. Might give 94 a go though as it looks like MTN’s crack at a gold type brand. Just tried some MTN 2G and was surprised how much I liked it. Went over my drippy poundland chrome with ease.

either give a nice finish
