What do you do when you run out of wallspace?, by Layaway Days Art Blog on Aug 19, 2011 12:22:02 GMT 1, Coming from the gameworn hockey jersey hobby, once you fill up the wall, you can put it in a tub and then rotate them out on display.
But what do you guys do here. I won't collect just to have something sit in a sleeve - do you stop? keep buying, framing, and rotate out? Get a bigger place? Slam them all together (I feel you run the risk of the wall losing it's esthetic appeal at that point).
Interested in hearing a few viewpoints.
R.
PS. 550sq ft. is not enough!!

What do you do when you run out of wallspace?, by jusdeep on Aug 19, 2011 13:03:30 GMT 1, I'm always running out of wall space. But find rotating and clustering works for me. You have to mix it up a lot, but if you are selective with what you put together, colours and frame styles you can get good results.

What do you do when you run out of wallspace?, by reptonic on Aug 19, 2011 19:16:46 GMT 1, my only solution is to mix prints and objects; faile boxes & coins, invader tape, painted cans, books, small things like penny dollar bills (sadly missed out this time round) etc... good objects are hard to find and i like a challenge......helps calm the addiction while not filling up portfolios full of prints that will never make the wall. does fill up the shelves tho...

What do you do when you run out of wallspace?, by easycraig on Aug 22, 2011 21:31:15 GMT 1, .
I actually took a window out of my home so I could gain a little
more wall space... lol!
I understand where you are coming from..... I have been trying to thin out the collection.... ( i hate the fact that i have a bunch of artwork sitting behind the couch and desk )
Some does get rotated, but some does not.....

What do you do when you run out of wallspace?, by jackstranger on Aug 25, 2011 20:30:36 GMT 1, I don't like to overload the walls and the house because, apart from being an art lover, I am also an interior design admirer. So the house aesthetics are also important to me.
Today I decided to move some works and found some more space, and I prefer the pieces in their new locations. So, move them, rearrange and get new space.
(now I can frame more pieces ;D)
