David Soukup - Feb 23rd - New Screenprints 1xrun, by David Soukup on Feb 10, 2012 21:37:49 GMT 1, I'm somewhat new to this forum, but hopefully some of you are familar with my work. My work is mostly about the urban environment and I work from hand-cut stencils.

For the past few weeks, I've been working on creating my first hand-pulled screenprints and I wanted to share them with everyone on the forum. These are created from my original stencil paintings, with enhancements and more detail pulled in for the print-making process. They will go on sale at February 23rd at Noon (United States Eastern Time). It will be a double drop, with both going sale at the same time, and a special deal if you pick up both (have to be one of the first 10 to do it I believe).

They are going to be released with 1xrun.com (I'm sure some of you are familiar with them). I've enclosed a few details below regarding the prints.

4 color silkscreens on 100lb Cougar Cover.
Print size is 18x18in with a 17x17in print area
2 different prints available (sold as a series). $45USD each.
Edition of 50 Each, all come signed and numbered.

Each layer was hand-pulled, and by me, and the ink was varied throughout the run (light-dark) to give each print a slightly unique aspect. I also used TW Inks (same stuff all the major print houses) so they ink ends up with a lovely matte/satin finish. I'm really happy with the final quality of this run, and am excited to share them with everyone. It represents hundreds of hours of learning to silkscreen from start to finish. These are my first hand-pulled prints, and I will continue to hand-pull them myself in the future. In contrast to the giclee process they do, where it will take weeks to get your print, I printed these myself, and 1xrun already has them and the COA's so hopefully shipment is as quick as a normal print release (no waiting weeks for them to show up). I know the frustration of waiting for something to arrive, and losing excitement over it. Just thought I'd share that tidbit with you guys. Thanks, and have a wonderful day!
