Barcode too expensive?, by Pattycakes on Sept 5, 2007 14:45:31 GMT 1, Just been offered and am seriously tempted to buy an unsigned Barcode for £3,000. It's one of my favourites and I've not seen one on the bay for ages? but is the price too much, since I didn't get any of the Failes I tried to buy, I've got some cash burning a hole in my pocket.

Barcode too expensive?, by streetgirl on Sept 5, 2007 14:54:16 GMT 1, £3k? Unsigned? Personally, I'd say that's steep.
But again, if you have the moola and it's a price/print you really want - then it's worth as much as you're willing to pay bla bla.

Barcode too expensive?, by dgb133 on Sept 5, 2007 14:59:56 GMT 1, There's a barcode on ebay right now. I doubt it will get that high. Tell your acquiantance you'll match whatever price the one goes for on ebay minus 5% hat he'll be saving in ebay fees. But you could get a signed Banksy for 3k and less, Sepia. And just about another 1k will probably get you a much wider variety of signed. A much better investment. I know it's not just about the investment but the art and the image. But at that price I think it's a rip...
I know some people don't trust this guy but some people have said he is legit according to pow: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290118538405

Barcode too expensive?, by redfred on Sept 5, 2007 15:02:10 GMT 1, The one on the Bay is at £950 with 4 days to go, keep an eye on it, but I would be amazed if it goes for more than £2250.

Barcode too expensive?, by a4mnt on Sept 5, 2007 15:03:20 GMT 1, i hate to step on another forum members toes, but don't pay £3000, thats loads. I own a barcode unsigned and am continually watching what they go for. just be patient, one will come your way. but none have sold for over £2k as far as i know and i will be surprised if the one on ebay now will do either.

I bet the one Ebay sells for over £2K, but won't get higher than £2.5K, so I agree £3K is too high to pay.

Barcode too expensive?, by Zippy on Sept 5, 2007 21:35:25 GMT 1, printguru... hold your money. 3k is far too much for an unsigned in the current climate. I expect you to get a few 'pm's' around the 2k mark which is still a lot of dosh. Hold on and you will get your print. Z

I agree that £3k is way too much to pay at the moment.
but don't wait too long to get one cos theres banksy prints coming up for auction at sothebys in just a couple of weeks, as well as several more auctions in the coming months, and correct me if i'm wrong but after every other high profile auction prices have skyrocketed.

Barcode too expensive?, by a4mnt on Sept 6, 2007 11:31:09 GMT 1, also, us talking it up on here and there also being a clearly keen buyer, could give an unscrupulous seller the idea of shill bidding on their own item, knowing full well that printguru will go to £3k.
if you don't get this one mate, there will be another one along sometime. there's been a reasonably steady stream (albeit with maybe a couple of weeks/months between each) of barcode/queen mary/pulp fiction etc. you'll get one soon enough.
I really really want, but just can't justify spending £1500 on a QM or PF, which doesn't make that much sense when i own a minotaur weapon or would attempt to buy a Neate. But there you go, stupid aint it.

Retract my above statement now that a second one has emerged on ebay.co.uk. Are sellers stupid? I would think it would be best if the 2nd seller waited for the first one to end?
