What's trading protocol, by Layaway Days Art Blog on May 17, 2012 7:41:46 GMT 1, Thanks for viewing.
Just wondering if anyone could provide their insights on trading in the hobby. Haven't done any but if it were up to me, I would wait until received and then ship mine? Probably not kosher with everyone so would like any views. Same time? Only trade with well known forum-ites?
Thanks for any help, r.

Trading seems to be based on good faith....with anon. types this is probably best avoided, unless done face-to-face.

What's trading protocol, by Shoeless on May 17, 2012 9:17:53 GMT 1, Ive had a few successful trades. Each has been based on good faith. We each come to an agreement, exchange shipping addresses, and off the prints go. These have been less valuable pieces though....less than $350.
For a higher dollar trade, I would likely suggest each party deposit the value of print to others paypal and refund when print arrives. That way there is some protection available if the other doesn't come through. Though for collectors whom Im familiar with, this would probably be unnecessary.
A face to face transaction would obviously be best....though often not possible.

What's trading protocol, by smishdown on May 17, 2012 13:12:01 GMT 1, I'm litterally in talks of a trade at the moment with another forum member and we have both come to the agreement of sending on Saturday, this is all done in good faith for prints to the value of about ยฃ350, he has had good dealings with other members and I did check this out for peace of mind, I however have only had a couple of dealings on this forum, one face to face and another purchase through PayPal. Which have both been faultless, it is a little bit worrying but if you check out previous dealings on the member then I'm sure it'll be okay? Or am I being ignorant?
