Ebay and postage, by JD on Jul 23, 2012 16:26:04 GMT 1, Advice please. If I was selling a heavily framed, museum glass etc framed print. And assuming that someone from the other end of the UK buys it. What do I say about postage, and how much roughly will it be ? Also how do I guarantee the glass doesnt break in transit ? Is it easier to just sell unframed ?

Ebay and postage, by Rsyok on Jul 23, 2012 16:37:16 GMT 1, Presuming its worth a few quid get a quote from an art courier, I can recommend Aardvark and recently recieved something via 3 lanes. Not cheap but neither is museum glass. www.aardvarkartservices.com/services.htm www.3lanes.com/

Ebay and postage, by ABC on Jul 23, 2012 16:46:17 GMT 1, Slice two heavy duty tubes down the length and use these over the frame edges (covered in bubble wrap first) - large bubbles, cover the lot again in more bubble then cover in more bubbles. I've only ever sent one framed art work but I covered both sides in hardboard too with the tubes on the edges. It got to the USA in one piece. It depends on size and value. Size is not the issue it's the value IMO. Interparcel are not too bad I purchased a large OG a few years back and it turned up with one sheet of bubble wrap and the delivery driver was near enough juggling it down the drive. Thing is that was sent from a very well know gallery. I was lucky as it was intact.
