SEEN ๐บ๐ธ Richard "Richie" Mirando โข Godfather of Graffiti, by JW on Jul 28, 2017 22:04:49 GMT 1, Beautiful pieces! I am very jealous of whoever grabbed 223! Couldn't resist it! It was hard decision as 225 was really tempting. Trying to reclaim the man cave (currently guest bedroom).
Though I'm only now realising just how big it is

Pejac - Scattercrow print, by JW on Jul 16, 2017 11:05:08 GMT 1, Why can't prints be released with anti-bot software such as a Ticketmaster, where you have to click on the squares with road signs, etc, to prove you are not a robot Ugh, please no Captcha. I'd rather lose to bots than have to go through that rubbish multiple times per release.

Can't get one but someone manages to get 2 (Pejac) how? help, by JW on Jul 14, 2017 22:54:08 GMT 1, Ok with this and invader before I could pay they were sold out. In under a minute. I know not everyone is that fast. What kind of software do I need to invest in?? I got the Invader RVE mostly because of autofill but I wasn't lightening fast. I actually retyped a couple of numbers to ensure it was captured correctly.
Today I think I lost the Pejac because I chose to pay via Paypal, and it took too long for it to transfer to the website. If I'd used my autofill on the credit card, I think I would have been fast enough but the warning on the website made me paranoid!
I kind of wish they'd use the Ticketmaster style short time limit to check out once you have it in your basket rather than it being a race to check out first. It would save a bit of grief in my opinion. No-one likes to get to the "Pay now" button only to have it reject.
Oh well. Well done to those who managed to get one. I've got a wedding to contribute to!

Invader RVE Repetition Variation Evolution Print, by JW on Jul 7, 2017 23:45:48 GMT 1, As promised... some pics including frame. Definitely in need of wallspace... put it in the art storage with some fellows... Another fan here. Mine will be similar but with 40mm box frame - I assume this is slightly smaller.
Mine arrived yesterday. Tube and print immaculate. I know some had issues, but it's been one of the easiest drops I've experienced. Buying those postcards a while ago was probably the best move I could have made as everything was pre-filled upon checkout (after a recent address change).
I've got the little embossed a on the edge too. It'll probably be covered by the mount when framed.

Invader RVE Repetition Variation Evolution Print, by JW on Jun 26, 2017 19:14:34 GMT 1, Ugh this makes no sense - the address is tied to my Space Shop account, I have no idea why it wasn't included with the order. Seemed like a site error. If anyone has any advice or can think of any way to help it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if there's anything that really can be done unfortunately... What comes up if you go to buy one of the available books right now? Your addresses will load there if you've previously input them. ie. either "Same as billing address" or another one.
Unfortunately people are going to be disappointed with every kind of release method, and this is one of the traps of random online ones.
Funnily enough, I've actually found La Space Shop to be one of the best!

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel โ
โ
โ
, by JW on Jun 14, 2017 20:36:27 GMT 1, Repeating what others have said here, but they're spot on.
Take Shekels. One taxi said he'd take USD, EUR or GBP. But take Shekels and make sure you have smaller notes if possible (for tipping here and there).
I was travelling with my fiancรฉ and had no issues whatsoever at Ben Gurion - to my surprise. Being a couple definitely helps. On the way in, they asked: "What flight did you come in on? Where are you staying? (we had a night in Tel Aviv and were visiting a friend). How long are you staying?" Straight through. Don't book the "extra help" - they can't help you with security. We met a lone male traveller that had booked his one-way flight 2 days prior, and told them he was visiting the West Bank. They held him for 10 hours... we were through in 5 minutes.
We booked hotel transfers via the website and it was definitely worth it. Straight through the checkpoint and past the queue. We arrived at the hotel super early, around 8am. We had the Presidential Suite for the first night, and they were kind enough to let us in early. Totally unexpected, and really generous of them.
The tours through the hotel are basically anti-sightseeing tours, more educational and absolutely worth it. If you're after an unbiased opinion, you'll be disappointed.
Food options: Afteem near Manger Square - for a quick Falafel etc. Though David Cameron ate there if that's a problem for you. Abu Eli & Limoncello - both recommended by the hotel and I enjoyed them both. I am easy to please though. They were both really quiet given Ramadan. Breakfast is included at the hotel. Granola, eggs etc. Coffee was actually good too.
If you're looking to travel back to Tel-Aviv on a Friday, beware of Shabbat. The checkpoints become really congested after 10am and cabbies are scarce. Pre-book a transfer through the hotel and make sure you leave before 10am.
Ben Gurion on the way out was also surprisingly easy for us. Our flight was at 7:45am, so going on advice we turned up almost 3 hours before that. We were initially asked: How long we have you been together? Do you live together? Did you pack your own bags? Do you know anyone in Israel? They then told us to wait while they got their supervisor over. We had some friendly chat about Australia in the meantime. The supervisor turned up and asked the same questions (apologising in advance for doing so). He also asked how many previous trips we had been on together. We rattled off a number of countries, he thanked us, said something to the others and then we had a passport security sticker starting with the number 2 applied. Google the 1-6 threat level scale they use for interest. Basically we couldn't have been less threatening. I've found US airports to be much worse recently.
If you get a chance to stay in Tel-Aviv, do it. It was a proper eye-opener for me, and more like any liberal European city you've been to but with extra buzz. We were there the same day as the gay pride parade, and everyone was out drinking in bars on the street. Rainbow flags waving outside. The food was great. I wish we'd stayed longer.
At no point did I feel worried or unsafe. Yes, we did it the "wealthy westerner way" in some respects but we didn't stay cooped up in the hotel. As a result it was one of the more fascinating trips I've ever been on.

Banksy & Flight Logistics, by JW on Jun 12, 2017 19:45:04 GMT 1, I wouldn't be too concerned. They've had one of mine since December.
They have been quick/responsive on previous COAs/transfers of ownership for me so I'm happy to sit tight.

Eine - It's a Little Scary Canvas, by JW on Mar 14, 2017 22:45:40 GMT 1, Still available folks. I've had a few tickles but ever so slightly outside of my expected range.
If you get to ยฃ4k, it's yours. I've sold Invaders not long before they sky-rocketed in price. Is this the next bargain buy?

Eine - It's a Little Scary Canvas, by JW on Mar 7, 2017 22:23:09 GMT 1, Reluctantly, I'm looking to sell my Eine - It's a Little Scary canvas (sans the apostrophe). I bought a flat, moved in, and given the limited space this would be relegated to the spare bedroom. Which is unfair as it's stunning.
Size is about 76x76cm.
I bought it from Dare Fine Art in 2012 - Bruce is a true gent. COA from Stella Dore included, and I can provide my sales receipt in need.
Looking for between SOLD. If below, I'll just hang onto it. Price is hard to gauge given nicer ones don't seem to pop up too often.
Strongly prefer a UK sale but would consider anywhere if the price is right and it will be packed expertly. I'm in central London.
Give me a shout if you have any questions.
Cheers. Joe

Skiing in France, by JW on Feb 12, 2017 19:49:14 GMT 1, Just got back from a week in Morzine and loved it. Thankfully we had some snow early on in the week as it desperately needed it. We had quite a few novices in the group and they were appreciative of the number of blue runs and pretty scenery. Skiing in Les Gets seemed the most popular choice for them.
Austria can't be beaten for the Aprรจs, but if you prefer a group of friends in a chalet with bottomless wine then Morzine has been my favourite so far (over Meribel/La Tania/Val d'Isere).

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by JW on Jan 30, 2017 20:11:03 GMT 1, Lost track of it but what is the price of a Nola White Rain these days?? Thanks Really though, is anyone letting them go for under ยฃ30k? I haven't found anyone.
A couple of galleries had them listed around ยฃ35k recently, and they seem to have gone - not sure of the final prices obviously.
So reasonable to say it's range trading between ยฃ31-34k at the moment?
A search of my inbox reveals that I was rejected on a cheeky "best offer" of ยฃ4k vs ยฃ7k BIN on the 'bay back in 2011.
Serves me right for being a turd...

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by JW on Dec 11, 2016 16:24:12 GMT 1, Thanks, but I wouldn't entertain the idea if I didn't agree with her to some extent. Turquoise wasn't my first choice back when I bought it, but I have grown to love it. I'm pretty agnostic now between grey and turquoise apart from the difference in edition size / value.

Silly move?

For Sale: Hirst, Eelus, Eine, Nick Walker and more, by JW on Sept 11, 2016 20:02:11 GMT 1, Hi all,
Iโm not sure if there are still any post restrictions for selling threads as I couldnโt see anything in the rules, so feel free to delete this and give me hell in need.
Iโm looking to sell the following to scrape together enough cash for a house deposit.
Iโve tried to put prices that I think are fair, though admit that others will have their finger on the pulse more than I do. Like the price, make an offer. Donโt, then healthy debate is welcome.
All are framed (except the Xenz canvas), and Iโd prefer to keep them that way if possible. Iโm based in Central London, so would prefer pick up.
MFM (Gary) was the framer, so quality is guaranteed and everything is in perfect condition.
Eelus: Not Everything is so Black and White Edition: 120 (original run, not 3D) Price: SOLD
Eine: Shutterfront Numbers Edition: 150 Price: SOLD
Eine: Scary Edition: 200 Price: SOLD
Eine: Change Box Set (AP) Edition: 10 (Blue AP, framed individually) Price: ยฃ600
Nick Walker: TMA Empire State Edition: 175 Price: SOLD
Paul Insect: Clockwork Britain AP Edition: 8 (Dark Grey & Grey AP) Price: SOLD
PM for size/dimensions, but really all are quite googleable.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards.
J

Invader Artwork, VALUATION, by JW on Sept 4, 2016 21:00:37 GMT 1, Hi all,
Any idea what the Invasion Kit 13 would be priced at? I have one framed in UV glass by MisterFameMan that I'm looking to sell but haven't seen any recent examples.

D*Face Pearl Jam Poster, by JW on Jul 16, 2013 20:18:21 GMT 1, Traditionally they'll sell an un-numbered run at the shows and then release numbered versions online at a later time... either at pearljam.com or amesbrosshop.com.
Not sure how it would work for a D*Face poster though.
