Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by hnkpnk on Aug 19, 2023 20:42:02 GMT 1, Using homeless destitute persons to let well off people (and UAA members tearing through town) get a gift worth maybe tens of thousands (if a print of 300). I don’t think so. What I don’t understand is how it got into the magazines.

: Judith Supine Original, by hnkpnk on Aug 16, 2023 17:15:42 GMT 1, I usually don't post my collection, but this is a favourite.
Judith Supine is still strangely cheap at auctions so there are opportunities to get really good originals cheap.

Cleon Peterson • Tote Bag, by hnkpnk on Aug 4, 2023 20:01:02 GMT 1, Those additional steps are perhaps overly-complicated, even fussy. In its current, original state, the stiffened-canvas Cl eon Pet erson was already made to be ready‑to‑hang. No framing even needed, let alone separate D‑rings with cord or wire. Just stick a nail in a wall, hang the piece by its handle, and that's you sorted. But, but, but then visitors won’t know it’s art! They will think it’s just a tote bag hung on a nail. 😞

Banksy • Cut & Run Posters, by hnkpnk on Jul 23, 2023 22:04:49 GMT 1, Don’t be surprised if lower edge of the poster is sorta folded over, looks however was rolling never had lessons from POW. I’d be more surprised if people have them that are without. The ones I picked up today are both ‘creased’ at the starting edge. They probably had lessons from POW. 😀

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by hnkpnk on Jul 21, 2023 11:56:58 GMT 1, There was a post about ai not being able to produce this quality in pictures that was deleted.
The progress of ai image generation has made gigantic steps in quality in just months. And it's super simple. I have no expertise but I just generated this in Midjourney. I guess the result would be a lot better if I knew tricks and prompts but I just used this:
/imagine prompt:boy in Banksy style in short trousers holding five ballons in a cellar with pipes and trash on the floor
It didn't follow my directions very well, but still...

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by hnkpnk on Jul 21, 2023 11:28:56 GMT 1, And just to be a pedant, the term uncanny valley can apply equally to places as well as people. Also being a pedant; can you give me an example of this? A definition including places/objects? My understanding is that it is used for human-like things only.
"Does uncanny valley apply to objects? The uncanny valley is a phenomenon in which a human being experiences a negative emotional response to a non-human figure, object, or entity that possesses a human likeness. The underlying idea is that humans are comfortable with other human-like objects or entities up until a certain point."

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by hnkpnk on Jul 21, 2023 10:48:37 GMT 1, Weird to think that some folk spend their time creating social media accounts in order to pretend they're Banksy or a Glasgow museum. Weird also to think that person is almost certainly on here, perhaps right now, getting off on seeing people discussing their work and probably touching themselves while doing so. It's a sick world. Sure, you can try to convince yourself that it's all just a wind-up, that you're having fun pranking others, maybe idiots online, but deep down, deep down in that sex dungeon of place you call a soul, where a normal person's heart would be, you know you're not right inside. Either something's missing from your life, or someone hurt you, but you can't fill a genuine need with a fantasy. Fantasy is temporary. Like all your relationships.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by hnkpnk on Jul 21, 2023 10:40:30 GMT 1, "The uncanny valley phenomenon can be described as an eerie or unsettling feeling that some people experience in response to not-quite-human figures like humanoid robots and lifelike computer-generated characters."
So this doesn't apply to illustrations such as this.
As I said the edge of the close-up is changed in the zoom-out. What is happening here?
My guess it is made with Midjourney. www.midjourney.com/showcase/recent/
Midjourney also have this type of zoom-out: docs.midjourney.com/docs/zoom-out

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by hnkpnk on Jul 21, 2023 7:17:05 GMT 1, Come on, you can’t be serious in believing it’s Banksy!
Apart from the ai “feel” there are strange perspectives and details round the edge from the closeup pic not corresponding with the zoomed out pic. And give me one other example of a Banksy in the same style and palette.
But most importantly; what does it say?
“Here’s a boy with balloons”.
I expect a lot more from Banksy.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by hnkpnk on Jul 21, 2023 0:48:18 GMT 1, Photos below in case the IG post disappears. This is incredible and things look like they are hotting up. Apparently GOMA has a basement. Surely this is ai generated and nothing to do with (the real) Banksy? Or am I missing something?

Mercer Auctions 🇺🇲 Street Art Auctions , by hnkpnk on Jul 19, 2023 23:11:43 GMT 1, The Invader “original” isn’t very similar to the real original. And a COA from Juliens isn’t worth anything. And it’s not very nice to tear down original invaders, but in this case it doesn’t matter much as it isn’t. But then your sale of this could be called fraud.

That’s why you can see through it from the boys room.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by hnkpnk on Jul 15, 2023 21:11:47 GMT 1, Apologies if I'm missing something but I've picked up on a few hints that this is indeed his farewell show, can someone please clarify? There has been some clues that can be interpreted as if he’s ending his career. What hints are you thinking about?
But I can’t see it. Why would he. He’s a highly talented artist with a fantastic career. And he can create significant sums for charity while still keeping his anonymity. He has shown no indication to enjoy celebrity status, so what would be his alternative? I think it would be impossible for him to stop being creative so what would it benefit to work under a new name, real or not? Either he would be unknown or be forced out of anonymity.
