Recommended Art Books, by kfroms on Jun 23, 2023 11:41:23 GMT 1, Thank you mcgill14 for recommending Bob Mortimer! Pretty perfect book for an easy read by the pool.
Just finished Man and Boy by Tony Parsons. Found it much better than the first time I read it around 20 years ago. Much more relatable now that I have kids and an ex-wife! :-)

Gerhard Richter 🇩🇪 Abstract • Contemporary Art • New Relea, by kfroms on Jun 2, 2023 16:08:48 GMT 1, On the Daco site it says Himilaja is edition of 500 Yes. Does now. Not sure it did when I bought it... or whether it did earlier this week even. Bought the Himalaya directly from Daco in 2021 and it already then stated that it is an edition of 500. They are very nice prints on very decent, thick paper.

Recommended Art Books, by kfroms on Jun 2, 2023 9:47:36 GMT 1, Hello everybody I am off to an extended summer holiday later in June and would need some reading material recommendations Can be anything really.... Already bought: Faith, Hope and Carnage (Nick Cave ) Man and Boy ( Tony Parsons ) Die Ueberlebenden ( Alex Schulman ) and I will also start the 27th ( and final ) attempt to read Henry Miller's 'Tropic of Cancer' Curious to hear your suggestions. And while at it: I really appreciate this thread! Ha ha love that you keep going back to Tropic of Cancer - I have a similar problem with Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance- people keep telling me it’s great but… Its really strange but I can’t make it to more than page 15 or so…. Anyway, last attempt this summer before I give in and try reading Ulysses by James Joyce! 😂

Recommended Art Books, by kfroms on Jun 2, 2023 9:44:48 GMT 1, Extended holiday Kfroms, cant be bad.... Good shout from kjg, may I add a couple of musician based books I personally have enjoyed - - The Bobbie Gillespie 'Tenement Kid' a cracker - Flea (bass player from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers) 'Acid For The Children' Also wading in with Bob Mortimer's 'And Away' a great read. Have a great trip. I read and enjoyed Tenement Kid! Really good. Will look into the Flea book but just got reminded that I still have the Graham Coxon and Jarvis Cocker unread on the bookshelf. Those are signed though so not good for holiday / beach treatment! :-)

Recommended Art Books, by kfroms on May 16, 2023 8:26:28 GMT 1, Its this Book thread Kfroms, its the gift that doesn't stop giving. Or financial ruin/wife ultimatums, not sure which??? No financial ruin, more me constantly breaking the agreement to not buy new books until we refurbished the house ( I will end up with less shelve space and really shouldn’t buy more….)

Banksquiat. Boy and Dog in Stop and Search, by kfroms on May 5, 2023 15:50:33 GMT 1, Not talking it down or questioning his place in art history, it’s just a generally deflated market and they’ve priices it high. It might even pass. Agree it might pass. Though it only takes 2 big spenders to set a new auction record. Long term this would be a solid investment even in the estimated range. It wont pass. the piece has a guarantee on it so it will sell even if there are no bidders.

Banksquiat. Boy and Dog in Stop and Search, by kfroms on May 5, 2023 15:45:18 GMT 1, I always have to chuckle when I read “talking down prices…” on this forum. There is maybe a handful of people in the art world who can actually influence prices and these guys are certainly not on here. :-)
Anyway, this is an amazing piece & curious to see what this goes for. Estimate does feel on the high side….
