New Banksy?, by Feral Things on May 14, 2014 18:57:37 GMT 1, Interestingย article, but I thought it was a bulldog/staffie's head (not a ram's) on a poodle's body? I know my peepers aren't great, but am I not seeing that right Yep, it's bulldog's head rather than a rams head and I thought this was painted in 2000/2001, so not his first stencil, but being at The Dugout it's definitely a real piece of history.ย ย Tom Foley and John Nation have done some amazing work over the years; top guys.ย Here's how the piece looked before someone accidentally wrote over it a couple of years ago:

HR Giger dies at 74, by Feral Things on May 13, 2014 18:34:48 GMT 1, Very sad news; a true innovator and a great artist. My first exposure to his work was the poster which was included with the Dead Kennedy's Frankenchrist album. This is SatOne's tribute to the great man:

VNA Issue 26: 3D - London and Bristol launches, by Feral Things on May 12, 2014 19:16:16 GMT 1, That's great news for forum members in Bristol; it'll be great to have it on our doorstep rather than have to head through to London. Any idea what time everything will kick off? It'd be a shame if it clashed with Temwa's Art for Africa auction. On a bit of a side note, does anyone know if Battlebox is still on the cards? I assume not as it was originally going to be 18 months ago and the original venue has since been demolished, but I thought I'd ask in case someone knows what the score is.

Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by Feral Things on May 9, 2014 9:57:04 GMT 1, I think it's a brave decision for Conor to put on his solo show in the States and not to use an established NY gallery over there which will have the local client and media contacts. But if anyone can do it I would say it's him; there aren't many artists out there with his technical skills, original style and aesthetic and whose work genuinely has something relevant to say. It's a bit of a gamble but I would be very surprised if it didn't pay off.

Bristol, by Feral Things on May 8, 2014 22:52:11 GMT 1, Welcome to the forum, rettop.
A couple of days should give you enough time to see the city. There are some recommendations in this thread - urbanartassociation.com/thread/105275/bristol-tomorrow-any-recommendations - but feel free to PM me if you have and questions or want any particular recommendations.
EDIT: A few things have changed since I made those recommendations Art-El and King of Paint have closed and Weapon of Choice will be closing at the end of the month and the College graf spot is no longer accessible.

Spurs -vs- Arsenal, by Feral Things on May 8, 2014 21:40:49 GMT 1, I never like to see a manager lose their job but that's quite a run they've been on since Hope Powell left last year. On a related note, I saw Clarmont Foot in the French second division now have a female manager - another step in the right direction.

Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by Feral Things on May 8, 2014 20:40:19 GMT 1, Wow. Just stunning. How much did his Dead Meat canvases from 2012 run for? I think studies were 2.5k and large canvases circa 25k. i'm hoping the large canvases haven't gone up too much. That was my recollection (plus VAT) but this piece at Art14 was c.ยฃ65k plus VAT, so things have moved on quite a bit in the last couple of years:

Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by Feral Things on May 8, 2014 19:49:50 GMT 1, Lazarides are putting on Conor Harrington's next solo show in New York entitled 'Eat and Delete' around September time. There's a short piece about it and some stunning photos on their website here. Dead Meat was one of the most impressive bodies of work I saw in 2012, so I'm sure this is going to be pretty special too.

New Banksy?, by Feral Things on May 8, 2014 9:55:52 GMT 1, Got the page 16 but can't handle much more - Can anyone give me a rundown? Cheltenham Spies is definitely still fine. Modern Lovers is probably heading back from the Museum to the Boys Club. Custard Creams might be better than Chocolate Bourbons.

Zepha, by Feral Things on May 8, 2014 7:00:06 GMT 1, The only other print which I can recall him releasing was "99 names" last year. It was a screenprint, 55x55 cm on black paperboard and there were two editions of 10 (one gold and one silver) priced at 150โฌ each. They were available through www.abadiafez.com so it might be worth contacting him direct and seeing if there are any available or if he has any PPs, APs etc. left.

Faile | 'Deluxx Fluxx' in Edinburgh, by Feral Things on May 7, 2014 22:16:58 GMT 1, I might be slightly bias but I think Edinburgh is an awesome city. If anyone is considering heading up to the Faile show then I would definitely recommend making a weekend of it. Fantastically atmospheric old town, beautiful new town, great nights out in the Grassmarket, stunning views from Arthur's Seat and the best whisky shops. There's some great galleries too like Ingleby and Gamma Proforma and the National Gallery of a Modern Art has a great collection including Lichtenstein, Francis Bacon and Anselm Kiefer. OK, that's the end of my advert for the Scottish Tourist Board

Last show at the current WOC Gallery. CHEO - End Of The Line, by Feral Things on May 7, 2014 22:03:50 GMT 1, It's a real shame to see you closing the doors for the last time. I've seen some great shows at WoC over the years (the Sepr show when you were up on St Michael's Hill was a definite highlight) and the old nights at Mr Wolf's were always a lot of fun. Good luck with the new look WoC and I'm looking forward to seeing Cheo's show.
