Calligraphy Calligraffiti Art, by Feral Things on May 6, 2014 17:44:37 GMT 1, l'Atlas returns to New York for a show at the Catherine Ahnell Gallery entitled '[space]' from 15 May to 22 June. Here's a couple of pictures of the show print which is currently being produced at Idem Paris:
Also, l'Atlas has a whole bunch of timelapse videos of him producing his larger installation work on his Vimeo page. I've only posted a couple below to avoid spamming this thread but the rest can be found here.
Lastly, here's a great video of French digital artist Miguel Chevalier's latest installation at Église du Sacré-Cœur in Casablanca:

Not exactly the norm, but hey UKIP Subversions thread anyone, by Feral Things on May 4, 2014 16:53:15 GMT 1, Anyone know how I can get a leaflet with the Freepost address on it? I'm clearing my house out and need to give all of my crap to someone! Apparently, UKIP have had to cancel their Freepost address after someone literally sent them crap in the post.

Keith Haring, by Feral Things on May 2, 2014 19:49:05 GMT 1, Yep! It's a reissue so that'll be the one, @json. I think books published on the continent have the text on their spines the other way around, or at least all the art books I have from France and Italy are that way around. I don't know why but it does mildly bug me

Keith Haring, by Feral Things on May 2, 2014 18:07:51 GMT 1, Jeffrey Deitch's excellent book on Keith Haring has been republished to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the artist's birth (happy birthday for Sunday, Keith). It's a fantastic book with loads of photos of his sketches, sub-way drawings, canvases and murals as well as lots of personal photos and insightful writing. It's only £30 which I thought was excellent value considering it's over 400 pages long. The ISBN for anyone who wants to order a copy from their local, tax-paying bookshop is 9780847842988

Random Sickboy news + updates, by Feral Things on May 1, 2014 18:26:42 GMT 1, It's always a difficult situation when you love an artist's work as it currently is but you still want them to progress and develop. So I'm glad how much I love Sickboy's new work; a really great progression, in my opinion. Here's a trailer for Sickboy's show at the STROKE Art Fair and a sneaky peak courtesy of Inkie's Instagram:

Calligraphy Calligraffiti Art, by Feral Things on Apr 29, 2014 22:14:55 GMT 1, There are photos of Vincent Abadie Hafez's stunning new mural in Tarifa in Andalusia entitled 'Rosa de los vientos (Rose Compass)' on his website here. The detail is beautiful and well worth checking out but here's a context shot from his website; the piece to the left is by Axel Void and the piece to the right is by El Niño de las Pinturas:

Artists You Might Not Know, by Feral Things on Apr 29, 2014 11:32:47 GMT 1, The pig in a chair looks good on the website. Yeah, I first saw her work in a recent exhibition here in Bristol. It's got a kind of understated surrealist quality to it all, which I liked.
Industrial chemical experimentalist Casper Sonne

# WithSyria, by Feral Things on Apr 29, 2014 11:20:22 GMT 1, just curious what you wrote? (also - what's an MP? It that comparable to a governor, senator etc?) I started off by flagging up the scale of the humanitarian crisis (6.5m internal refugees, 2.5m refugees who have fled the country, c.100k civilians killed) and then I stated that a continuing conflict will just make matters much, much worse and that a diplomatic solution (through Geneva II?) must be found. I then stated that the UK has global influence and that it's essential that the UK uses this influence to bring the two sides together to find a settled solution. I didn't mention that it would be in the UK's strategic interests to avoid Syria becoming another failed state like Somalia or Yemen but depending upon who the elected official is, this could be a more persuasive argument for them to act.
An MP is a Member of Parliament, I believe the US equivalent is a Congressman/women. Go on; go and bother your elected representatives
EDIT: Sorry, Coach is obviously a faster typer than me

Bristol Shows, by Feral Things on Apr 29, 2014 10:44:38 GMT 1, If anyone in Bristol is looking for something to do over the coming Bank Holiday weekend then it's the Bristol Weekender where Bristol's studios, artists and galleries come together for a series of shows and performances. This includes an exhibition of Turner's watercolours at the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery and the Spike Island open studios (where, if you keep your eyes peeled, you'll see Sickboy's mark from when he used to use the printing studios here). There's a guide to what's on here.
Also, BV Studios (in Bedminster) have have their open studios on the second May bank holiday weekend, Jamaica Street Studios (just off Stokes Croft) have their open studios on 13, 14 and 15 June and the middle two weeks of September is the Bristol Biennial.
