Jaune solo exhibition, by Vroom & Varossieau on Jan 6, 2017 13:46:14 GMT 1, Art gallery Vroom and Varossieau present ‘I wish you could see this for real’ an exhibition by world renowned Belgium street artist Jaune. The exhibition runs from 21 January to 26 February 2017.
Jaune is a stencil artist and urban interventionist whose work is based on the paradox between the visible and the invisible. With sanitation workers as the main protagonists in his humorous installations and paintings - an idea that was born from his own experience working in the profession. Despite performing an important public service in garish yellow and fluorescent clothing, Jaune observed that he and his colleagues existed in the background of our urban environment, becoming almost invisible to the average person.
It was in 2011 that he decided to free these characters from their roles by symbolically placing them in ever more absurd and whimsical scenarios in and around the city streets. Those who were supposed to keep the world tidy have become forerunners of chaos. At the same time, Jaune encourages us re-evalaute our relationship with the individuals represented in his work.
One of the main characteristic of Jaune’s work is the tension of the moment. He represents daily situations trough funny elements, often focussing on the moment just before something dramatic is about to happen. Jaune’s work is attention grabbing and makes the viewer engage while questioning the relationship between the artwork and it’s environment. His images always carry a strong message, transparent or hidden, and indubitably, the starting positions of every interpretation are humour and whimsy.
The past year (2016) was a very successful year for Jaune. Exhibiting at a multitude of international Urban and Street Art festivals such as The Crystal Ship Festival in Oostende Belgium and Nuart Festival in Stavanger Norway. As well as many productive collaborations and mural commissions in Torino, Basel and Amsterdam. Starting the new year with the fresh and exciting solo exhibition ‘I wish you could see this for real!’ at Vroom and Varossieau, Jaune further establishes his name.
Vroom and Varossieau specializes in street art and urban contemporary art by internationally celebrated artists as well as emerging talent. The gallery also arranges licenses and commissions for murals, for artists. Vroom and Varossieau advises private collectors in buying and selling works of art (private sales).

Trouble Makers Make the World Go Round, Laser 3.14, by Vroom & Varossieau on Nov 10, 2016 12:20:57 GMT 1, Dear Vernaxley, Never said anything about next Banksy? Laser 3.14 is the most visible artist in Amsterdam.
Laser's passion for graffiti began as a kid in the early 80’s; greatly inspired by early Amsterdam writers like Ego, Dr Smurry, Dragon, Collodi, Tarantula. In ‘84 he attended graphic school in Amsterdam: It was here where he met the brother of Harakiri, an artist who he, and many others, considered an old-school graffiti king: He taught Laser the ins and outs of tagging and much of what he knows to this very day. Soon after, in the early 1990’s, he began sketching and producing comics, illustrating, and writing poetry. Experimenting in this manner led him to showcasing much of what was produced. Towards the end of the 90’s he ran into an artistic impasse and felt the need to re-ignite a creative spark he felt had been lost. As a result, he went back to his roots; graffiti writing. It was at this point he began to utilise the city as his canvas, and turned his poetry into street art. On April 24th 2009 Lebowski Publishers released a compilation of Laser's street poetry in the book entitled, Are You Reading Me? His artwork combines a great variety of different styles, techniques and materials. Graffiti-based paintings, graphic styled drawings, collages and 3D artwork.

The Red Mice District Sexy mice characters occupying the Amsterdam Red Light District
Welcome to The Red Mice District: an alternate world by artist Luiz Risi, teeming with sexy characters, which currently live in the Red Light District area. In the narrow streets where the city never sleeps, rodent pin-up girls in risqué outfits inhabit a new layer between the sex shops and strip clubs of Amsterdam.
Luiz Risi, the creator, artist and filmmaker behind this street art intervention, installs the figures himself at various strategic locations in and around the famous Red Light District of Amsterdam. Risi advances the story of the sexy mice through a series of short films and collaborations with international artists like The London Police, Minivilla, Laser 3.14, Wayne Horse, Joe Holbrook and Maomaland.
Amsterdam, like many European cities, is infested with mice living with and yet simultaneously invisible to most. Developing this idea further, Risi created The Red Mice District. The artworks play with and comment on the infamous neighbourhood they cohabitate. As Risi explains: “I always thought of Amsterdam as a kind Disneyland for adults. It’s also heavily populated by mice, so I thought these fellows deserve to have their own Red Light District. Usually, street artists want to spread their work in multiple areas for more visibility, but this project very intentionally does in fact the opposite. By restricting myself to one neighbourhood the artworks create a locally inspired narrative."
The Red Mice District will have a solo exhibition at the Vroom & Varossieau Urban Contemporary Art gallery in Amsterdam, opening on November 11th.

Cranio 🇧🇷 Street Art • Sao Paolo • Art For Sale, by Vroom & Varossieau on Oct 3, 2016 14:06:47 GMT 1, Fabio de Oliveira Parnaiba (1982), also known as Cranio, has an international reputation for his murals. He grew up in Sao Paulo. In 1998 he decided that the drab grey walls of his city could use a boost. Later on, he did the same in cities like Barcelona, Berlin, London,
Los Angeles, Miami and Paris. Since 2008 the blue Indian features as a main character in Cranio’s work and it can now be called his trade mark. With creativity and a sense of humor he expresses his engagement with the Indians, Brazil’s original inhabitants. Technically, he predominantly uses spray cans. With an extremely thin needle he is able to create very fine lines: a technique that is mastered by only a handful of artists worldwide.

The London Police available work, by Vroom & Varossieau on Sept 29, 2016 13:30:18 GMT 1, The london police started in 1998 when big english geezers headed to Amsterdam to help rejuvenate the visually disappointing streets of Hollands capital. They were part of a small group of artists at the end of the last century that helped pioneer a new street art movement. After a few years of mixing traveling and making art in the street TLP began to receive Worldwide recognition for their contribution to the graffiti/street art movement. They were included in many of the books documenting the scene and invited for shows and live drawing performances all over the globe. 16 years on TLP have amassed more than 100 shows and events in over 35 countries and their street work continues to pop up everywhere they go. Since 2009 TLP has concentrated on more intense canvas work, on bigger solo shows and largescale mural projects. TLP are Chaz Barrisson who draws the iconic 'LADS' characters and Bob Gibson whose tight portrait and architectural illustrations help marry the two styles to create an endearing, exciting fantasy world. The current duo have managed to form a partnership more cohesive than Han Solo and Chewbacca in Star Wars and are continuing to produce slick artwork that is tighter than a butlers cuff. Never be scared, don't be a hero and let the good times roll!!

Surface by Søren Solkær, signed and dedicated..., by Vroom & Varossieau on Sept 20, 2016 14:01:25 GMT 1,
'SURFACE' has been created in Søren’s signature style drawing influence from cinema and painting. His use of artificial lighting on location and a strong element of storytelling, creates images with an atmosphere of hyperrealism – a sort of imaginary film stills. Each artist is portrayed with their own art work, often using masks or props to obscure the identity of the artists.
'SURFACE' is also a fine art photography book. This monograph is Søren Solkær’s fourth publication. It is a 240-page hardcover coffee table book featuring portraits of 135 street artists. The expansive collection includes Shepard Fairey, Blek le Rat, DabsMyla, DOES, Ron English, FAILE, Kaff-eine, The London Police, Niels Shoe Meulman, Seen, Swoon and Vhils amongst many.
