DFace โข Union Jacked Print, by davievegas on Dec 10, 2016 19:47:09 GMT 1, Very weird choice of an image. No wonder he didnt want to show anyone lol. Weird in what sense?
In a sense that this image is not an image that all his collectors would want. This seems to me like something only a small niched area of collectors would be interested in. Like a british collector. I do not see any appeal. This suppose to be a piece for the brexit situation?

Stik Sleeping Baby, by davievegas on Dec 10, 2016 19:36:59 GMT 1, I know Stik is red hot at the moment but I would think you will understand need to add cash.... In 10 years time the TW will be the better investment. I Not sure why anyone would add cash ? I guess they are worth about the same today ? They might not be tomorrow (they probably won't), but adding cash today based on speculative future value seems a bit strange BTW I own TW, and have no interest in a Stik Baby, so really just curious why you think someone should add cash
Ill take a crack at it. Not sure why? Stik is a one trick pony. Hes is not banksy and never will be. The odds of Bansky decreasing in value compared to stik is like hitting the lotto in my opinion. Wont happen. In terms of comparing each artist for values sake, I dont see Banksy dropping value anytime soon If ever.
Can you say the same for stik? Not a chance in hell. These two artists are dramatically different for obvious reasons beyond the art. But your saying that "hype" and "whats hot now" is comparable to an artist that is etched in history as one of the greats. Not just for the art but his whole process and worldwide eye catching meaning behind every wall piece he does.
I would NEVER trade a bansky for a stik. Not sure if I would ever trade or sell a bansky for any other artist ever. Its hard enough to find an authentic banksy as well. I am all for risk but there is no risk vs reward here. That is just batshit crazy.
I dont own a banksy either but plan on it in the future. It will be passed onto my kids. By the time they are old enough for college, it could be worth as much as a small life insurance policy imo. Maybe that one piece will pay for college. Thats the dramatic difference.

Kaws Piranhas When You're Sleeping Print, by davievegas on Nov 29, 2016 18:59:33 GMT 1, PIRANHAS WHEN YOU'RE SLEEPING (2016) Pace Prints is pleased to announce its newest print release by KAWS, titled PIRANHAS WHEN YOU'RE SLEEPING (2016), a 60 x 46 inch silkscreen in an edition of 50. The print will be sold exclusively at Pace Prints, Booth A-10 during Art Basel Miami Beach 2016. No orders by phone, email or in-gallery will be accepted. Is Kaws even trying anymore?? This is what happens when everything sells out no matter if its a picture of doo doo on the ground. Only hurts the future imo. Yikes

Moving Sale: Bast, Fairey,Miss Bugs, Fake, Agent Provocateur, by davievegas on Nov 26, 2016 23:37:31 GMT 1, When people say favorite auction site, which one is that? Second time I have seen someone say that today alone. Are you joking? ๐ In case you're not, Which auction site can you think of? Yes, it's that one.
artnet? There are plenty of auction sites people talk about on here. Why I asked. People keep saying "Favorite" like everyone uses the same one which is not the case. There's paddle8, sothebys, christies or whatever the name is and others.

Moving Sale: Bast, Fairey,Miss Bugs, Fake, Agent Provocateur, by davievegas on Nov 26, 2016 20:58:39 GMT 1, The bast is a great piece, if I didn't already have one on the wall I'd snap it up. Come on, someone must want a tasty bit of bast on their wall. Thanks Pcant. Hard to let it go. If i didn't have my Piggy to keep my company, I'd be hard-pressed to let this one go. Final Price Drops for the weekend. If no other offers, these will be listed on our favorite auction site come monday.ย

New Pose Print - Couples Therapy...Coming Soon, by davievegas on Nov 22, 2016 1:54:22 GMT 1, This leaves me completely cold. Does nothing for me at all. I can't work out what I am missing. What do people love about Pose's work? Aesthetically I find it unappealing. I can't fathom any other redeeming features that might make up for that.
His earlier work with burn and blot had me really interested and is his most popular work. His latest releases have not been up to par for my liking.

PHLEGM 'BATTLE' FOR SALE, by davievegas on Nov 19, 2016 3:14:43 GMT 1, 6 months? Phlegms prices have plummeted the past year. Shame he doesnt release more work to be honest. His brand seems to have stalled. Brand?! FFS. he's a street artist.
Brainwash has a brand. Shep has a brand. Banksy has a brand and most street artists do these days. If they make money, they build a brand. Im not talking brand like walmart or target. I am talking an art brand. Seems to me like street art is becoming more commercial these days. Especially in movies, music etc. Street art is being mentioned everywhere here in the US.

Donald Trump, by davievegas on Nov 10, 2016 1:38:15 GMT 1, I dont know if you know this but Trump calls us here in Canada "Snow Mexicans!!" LOL!
Still seem to be missing the point. He was not elected because of his great characteristics. He was elected because some things economically he stands for is what american people have been wanting for a longtime and the peoples voice has fallen on deaf ears. Its the big F*** you to the government and people feel his election is a statement.

Donald Trump, by davievegas on Nov 10, 2016 1:00:03 GMT 1, We've all had bad flights, but I wouldn't remove a qualified pilot because an enthusiastic amateur wants to have a go.
And Trump will be all about making money and screwing the environment.
Many people voted for Brexit in the UK because they were tired of the status quo and wanted to send a message to the establishment. Which is fine in principal, as long as your protest doesn't result in other people's lives becoming more difficult.
Also, endorsing ghastly people, whateverย our reasons, sends a message to others. That could be sending the message that it's ok to be racist. Ok to be sexist. Ok to avoid paying taxes. Ok to run your businesses immorally. Ok to be fearful of others. Ok to hate.
I respect your commenting on here.
Thats not ย a fair analogy A fair one might be, just because we always did it that way, doesn't mean its right, and i think thats where the majority of voters are Its the tipping point, the establishment are getting a back lash worldwide as people become more educated and realise governments are run by corporations and shareholders, and the working/middle class person are no more than slaves to the system No one wanted trump But they didn't want him less than they didn't want Clinton Like a lot of recent votes, we seem to be missing a 3rd option Let me start off by saying this response is my opinion after what I saw last night. I am a independent and more then EVER happy to be one in this election. No one wanted trump? You can say he was the choice out of the garbage that was given too us yes. But he still beat 16 OTHER republican nominees that were politicians.
But still 59 million people voted for him. It was the biggest UPSET in THE WORLD and probably EVER in human history with unthinkable odds against him. The government fought him, his own republican party and 90% of the biased democratic media as well and he won thanks to the voters. His election was the equivalent of hitting the lotto or all the stars in the galaxy forming a straight line.
UNTHINKABLE you say? That depends on if you were a Hillary Clinton backer. Democrats would of had a victory if Bernie Sanders beat Hillary. People decided no more corruption. I said the independents were going to vote in droves for him because the people were forgotten by the US government and had no voice.ย The American people had enough.
So your argument is they wanted Hillary less then Trump? Lets put it this way. Even the 3rd option candidate Gary Johnsonย was by far the most clueless option in this whole election. The guy never even heard of "Aleppo" which is being bombed left and right by Russia. Which I may add, the US would be in world war 3 with IF Hillary won. This election became HISTORIC because of the following reasons.
1. A TOTAL outsider that has never been a politician or been part of the army/navy etc has ever won a presidential election. Shows any non politician can now run for office and win. 2. The US people decided to elect a non corrupted billionaire who has a proven track record in employing hundreds of thousands of jobs with his company. He was by FAR our best option in my opinion for the economy with getting our 20 trillion dollar deficit down with trade deals and funneling money in the US economy. 3. The people had enough. They had enough of Obamas garbage presidency and less then 2% growth in 8 YEARS. Obama care has single handily destroyed working families with 20-100% rate hikes coming this next year in some states.
There is so many more I can list on and on but the fact is, THE people have spoken. No more rants about our vote does not count. Last night proved that. It was a night we will never see again in our lifetimes. Now, does he do all that he says he is gonna do and becomes a good/great or even decent president in the future? We only can wait and see.
- Watch this and it explains ALOT. Very moving even If Michael Moore made it to scare voters to not vote for trump.

Stik/LA2 Collab piece , by davievegas on Nov 3, 2016 1:46:17 GMT 1, Personally, stik works because of the simplicity. Was offered a large scale version of this many times by a gallery but opted to buy something more classic by stik in the end and stand by that. nicely framed though
Adding colorful scribble to a stick man is too over simplistic for you??

New Faile "Eastern Suspenso" Print, by davievegas on Oct 27, 2016 23:19:13 GMT 1, I am very surprised this print has not sold out in the past 6 hours. Maybe the Peanut Gallery was right in their assessment that it was priced too high and the edition size was too much for the price. It looks like Faile has fallen victim to Brexit and the 30% change in the Pound versus the Dollar. To be honest, I hope other artists have this same issue. Maybe if they stop selling out with mediocre work, they might start making better art/prints. I for one am tired of artists putting out whatever and it still sells out. You can blame brexit if it makes sense to you. I personally just think the edition and the price is what killed this drop.
BUT for conversation appeal, lets look at it in another way. If you have been paying attention to the market for Faile in the past two years, you will see the decline in "worth buying trends" in there work. Whether thats investment or just appeal. If you do some research, there work has not been going up in any way. Originals are staying un-purchased on ebay for 6 months to a year or longer. I have purchased 3 pieces of Faile's within the last 5 years and even my purchases that are 3-5 years old have not budged in terms of selling more then cost. I do not know what the current auction market is but I am also seeing less and less work of Faile's being sold in auctions.
Maybe there work is just not appealing anymore and buyers are not so interested. Also, I feel Faile's images are starting to be played out for my liking. That is a personal opinion not a fact of his market direction.
I am very surprised this print has not sold out in the past 6 hours. New Faile "Eastern Suspenso" Print, by davievegas on Oct 27, 2016 17:52:46 GMT 1, No interest in this and the price should be around $350 for an edition of 300 not $495. Easy pass for me. Especially since they release a lot of prints at high editions. Rising prices consistently with high editions always scare me off.
