Eelus 3D Lenticular "Not Everything Is So Black & White", by bone on Mar 30, 2016 15:25:25 GMT 1, Whilst it may be a touch gimiky, it allows people who like the image (which is a fair number) the chance to own it at ยฃ950 rather than ยฃ3k - no brainer for me. The fact that this "may" look better than a standard print on paper is a bonus! Not fussed what I get, just want to get one - although I am prepared to be very disappointed, the luxury of being able to pick and choice which one you want wont be available, this will go FAST !! (probably even faster than that!) Quite like the random nature of the drop, may mean that the site does`nt crash as not everyone can be glued to there computer/phone for hours on end.... Without a set time, history suggests the site will be up and down like a whores drawers come tomorrow as there will be heavy traffic all day. Normal services are designed to cope with short term spikes but heavy sustained bombardment will cause no end of issues. They are emailing you the link to purchase at some random time in the afternoon. There doesn't really seem like a point to bombard the site with refreshing since you need to use a pop up link

Your latest Art Purchase?, by bone on Mar 18, 2016 20:20:33 GMT 1, I love this print. At first I wasn't sure about it, but the print looks 3d in parts in person. It's crazy, printing is of the same quality as Kaws. I have never seen a print pop like this one

Eelus โข Baby Shot Me Down, by bone on Mar 4, 2016 16:32:17 GMT 1, Mine arrived today.....just wondering if everyone can see stripes through the black of the dress? It's like when the black screen has been overlaid the texture of the other screens can be seen behind the black? Also there are a couple of white spots where the ink is missing on a couple of the stripes....only small but I can see them. Any thoughts? This is the worst white spot: Not sure if I'm being picky or whether I should contact Spoke Art about it...none of my other prints have this. Any thoughts? Doesn't seem like a big deal at all, its a screen print, these things happen. The spot is tiny

Zedsy ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข New Print Release , by bone on Feb 25, 2016 0:14:41 GMT 1, Perhaps this piece was inspired by the artists deep seeded correlation to batman in the sense of tragically loosing both of his parent at such a young age. Just a glimpse into where the artist draws inspiration and drive. I hope Zahid continues to produce this art for us! One should never mention ExpressoBeans and art in the same sentence and expect to ever be take serious. Because you were banned?

Banksy โข Girl With Red Balloon Print, by bone on Feb 16, 2016 16:43:38 GMT 1,
Coach I have no doubt there was some extremely hi costs involved in the putting together and running of Dismaland and that has to be recouped somewhere.
Also I agree that there was an opportunity given to us all for a Banksy curated show for next to nothing how ever that isn't my point.
My point is with regards the release of work which now seems to be a closed shop. I stand to be corrected but the last readily made available work to the public was CYW which was over 5 years ago. Evidently the business model has changed.
POW have not really had a business model since they and Banksy parted ways with Laz, which is why everyone else apart from the artist himself will make money from Banksy. It's not how Banksy operates because making money him miserable - ask Damien Hirst (who con-incidentally co-funded Dismaland) who invites Banksy to his Thai holiday home every year only to have to listen to him being uncomfortable about his worth. Going to need some details on your whole statement......

Eelus โข Baby Shot Me Down, by bone on Feb 12, 2016 15:46:50 GMT 1, I disagree Bone .......... Ok Banksy was known in the US before he hit the streets there and so on but his popularity just escalated after he did..... How well known is Banksy in US? I asked someone the same question years ago, and was told that hardly anyone had heard of him. Has that changed now? He is popular, lots of people know him. People outside the art collecting world, my mom and pops.

Eelus โข Baby Shot Me Down, by bone on Feb 12, 2016 15:26:29 GMT 1, I love Eelus and love nearly all of his stuff, but is this just a release to try and break the US market. I dont think it is anywhere near as strong a release as NEISBW, ATR & WTNFU (in that order), I am still going to try and get one in order to keep the Eelus love but dont fancy my chances this side of the pond! Pricing will be a delight to see , hopefully still affordable and value to boot and not inflated by the gallery. Although I dont think Eelus would allow it to by overpriced, as hes still one of those artists that doesnt stick a extra few ยฃยฃยฃยฃ's on each release. Why would this be a release to try to break into the US market? Because where it is printed/sold? I don't think that really makes a difference

Banksy โข Girl With Red Balloon Print, by bone on Feb 12, 2016 15:20:52 GMT 1, Are artist proofs supposed to be produced at the same time as the regular edition run? If produced 10 years after the original edition , is that not bad play ? Or even a few months after an edition has sold out. All artists can extend editions if a print is popular by labelling as an ap? If it was any other artist doing this , the discussion would be different . I would love any of the GWB AP's, but I feel if it were a different artist people would see things like this differently. I'm guessing we would here the same old comments, "cash grab" "greed", etc. I don't think that is the case, but defiantly think he is treated differently, probably deservedly

KAWS โข Astro Boy Figure , by bone on Feb 9, 2016 23:57:43 GMT 1, How does anyone authenticate one? Is there something to look for? I'm guessing what to look for is different on every figure? Year and Years of research for me. I've been collecting for a long time. There are almost identical replicas of everything at this point. So identical that you probably would never be able to tell otherwise. I won't even touch Star Wars anymore, they've got these down to a T. Feel free to shoot me a link or pictures and I can look at them for you. Your best bet at this point are Resting Place and Passing Through. Thanks for the offer. I have a passing through that I bought from him, but would love to add resting place. I'm worried of buying a fake resting place, but also concerned that with so many fakes is it worth it to spend the money on a real one. Either way, I love mine and people always comment on how cool it is. If I'm thinking of purchasing one in the future, I'll contact you.

Kaws โข YSP Yorkshire Sculpture Park 2016, by bone on Feb 4, 2016 15:25:34 GMT 1, Basically editions of 300 then. No artist needs 50 proofs. Just another manipulation of the price and perceived edition size. I love his work, but I think prices are being hiked up by the galleries that represents him. People are scared of missing out and keep buying, but I can see it going tits up at some point! I don't disagree with you on that, only time will tell I suppose on whether the way his prints are being priced is sustainable or not. And I agree that there is no real need for 50 artists proofs for any edition length, but at the end of the day most people would value an AP /50 higher than a regular print / 250 for any artist and I don't see Kaws any different. So recent Philips sales of regular prints can't really be used as a ceiling price for an AP. I think the YSP APs are pretty fairly priced all things considered. Not that i'll be buying one, if I manage to get a signed poster on Sat then I will be more than happy with that! =] I don't get why anyone would value an AP higher then the regular edition if it is the exact same print? Yes, different variations in color would affect the value, but the same exact print shouldn't matter.

Banksy Show in Istanbul/Turkey, by bone on Jan 26, 2016 17:17:29 GMT 1, hello urbanart association members well, this is my first thread here. last weekend i attended the so-called โworld biggestโ banksy show in istanbul/turkey. let me say, that i was both, curious and sceptical about it, because there was not that much information about it on the homepage of the gallery or internet overall. it is well situatet in the heart of istanbul, but quite tricky to locate it, inbetween all the small streets out there. the brand new gallery (banksy is the first show) was set up like a location or street somewhere in east london. with brick walls (made of styropor or plaster i think), luminous lanterns and also an oldstyle telephone box, some projection screens with sequences of driving subway and people in tube stations. at the beginning there were shown many prints (signed, unsigned and in different colour ways), also a fake banksy tshirt shop and a banksy candy shop. in the next following rooms the original works get my full attention. and there a lot of them. beginning in smaller sizes they grow bigger and bigger from room to room up tol some full wall covering pieces. the show was curated by steve lazarides and yes, i guess he did a good job. at the very last and before leaving the show the obligatet gift shop wants your attention (and money). it is called โthe unofficial, unauthorized, fake gift shopโ! this looked to me quite weird :-), but i guess this is the turkish style of a banksy gift shop, but see the impressionsโฆ I apologise for my poor english here and for some bad pictures, but the light in the showrooms was quite difficult. hope you enjoy it and let me say what you think. here is the link to the pics: s1379.photobucket.com/user/gripin254/library/banksy%20istanbul
The Dismaland print in the pictures says that it is a screen print, is that correct. I thought everyone said it was a Giclee?

Do you think that he only hangs his own art in his house? Or did the realtor stage the place with his artwork to help sell it as his house?

OS Gemeos Print, Original, WANTED, by bone on Jan 21, 2016 3:36:11 GMT 1, There will never be another edition. The forum flippers saw to that What did they think was going to happen with an edition of 99? Of course people flipped it. WHat did they expect with the edition size? They were fairly easy to obtain on the secondary market for not much more then cost at one point. Probably the fact the the image was meh
