Banksy Welcome Mat, by londonfx on Jun 16, 2021 19:54:54 GMT 1, http://instagram.com/p/CQMMfSNlS6S
Went for a clean and simple white frame with white mount and slips for this one. It’s on a plane wall (very light blue/grey) so just wanted to show the artwork and orange off

Grayson Perry 🇬🇧 Ceramic • Tapestry • Exhibition News, by londonfx on Jan 31, 2021 20:59:02 GMT 1, Under £135 the 20% tax is meant to be collected at source and passed over to the UK treasury Over £135 the tax is collected as usual by UK customs at whatever rate is applicable Those are the new rules...... That means that you may find you buy something abroad under £135 and no import tax is paid at all These are the little things that leaving Europe has left us with
I’m struggling with a supplier in America at the moment. As the item costs less than £135 and they are still waiting for the company VAT number (which they applied for in November) meaning the item can be shipped to me. But maybe returned by customs. So they’re going to have to declare the value at £136 just so I can get the items

Friedrich Kunath 🇩🇪 Print Release • Show News • For Sale, by londonfx on Jan 23, 2021 15:47:46 GMT 1, I emailed them asking what was with the delay and they eventually replied saying they over sold all the editions. And refunded me my money.
Frustrating as I purchased them before all the hype on the forum. So hard to believe they over sold

Banksy's on eBay • Real or Fake?, by londonfx on Oct 1, 2020 17:34:23 GMT 1, As far as I’m aware, they seem to be legit posters. A friend purchased a poster from the museum and also postcard. I’ll try and dig the postcard out. But I think it says the image is attributed to banksy.

Art Insurance in the UK, by londonfx on Sept 23, 2020 23:21:18 GMT 1, A timely thread, I've literally just chatted with Hiscox - took five mins and I will know my cost in the next twenty-four hours... My notes form the call - there's no particular requirement for security at home, they don't suggest particular alarm system, nor does it have to be connected to a police/monitor station. The guy said that i'll notice in the terms, that you must take 'reasonable care' - so if you go on holiday/leave the house then you lock up etc (!) There's also no excess, if stolen or damaged they will pay up (after obviously investigating) - though they will only pay to the value you've insured your item(s) for (so if the prices keep going up ala Banksy) you have to keep them updated - I forgot to ask whether there is a cost attached to this, i'm guessing yes. For pieces in excess of £50k then you have to specify what that piece is and what the value of said piece is. They don't ask you to prove the value now, however if you were to claim then they would would want proof of ownership (COA etc) and proof of value - recent auctions etc being acceptable. This was really straight forward and I was impressed at how quick it happened - lets see what the cost is.
Just done the same. waiting for the quote to come back from the underwriters.
Important to note that they will only pay out for the specific amount you have listed. There’s no limited or admin fee for changing the valuations.
I’ve heard of people needing to get monitored alarm systems. Maybe that’s due to their collection being over a certain value?!
My home insurance is with Halifax. And their happy for hiscox to insure my art separately.

NOT URBAN ART THREAD, by londonfx on Jun 13, 2020 10:05:50 GMT 1, 1- Need a better thread title 2- Over last 10 years maybe 1/3 of stuff posted here not “urban art” whatever that is Thanks for your comments
1) The thread title is pretty self explanatory, what would you suggest as an alternative? 2) Im not doubting that there have been previous posts with regards to "non urban art" I was just suggesting that it maybe nice to have a specific thread for such discussions.
