Luke Chueh Kickstarter project, by Love Is In The Air on Feb 14, 2016 0:51:15 GMT 1, Yeah agreed. Totally forgot about it tbh. Last email update I got was Jan 7 and even that suggested it might be here by now. In case anyone didn't see there was pic saying they weren't happy with first product and asked for changes before it went into production. And it then said:
"Once these are approved by everyone, they will be completed, boxed up, and shipped to us! I'm sorry to say that we obviously missed our target release date, but we seem to be solidly on track to get these out asap!"
They don't seem solidly on track at all, although the product did look good. Perhaps we might get them by the end of month?

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by Love Is In The Air on Jan 21, 2016 19:21:33 GMT 1, Mattl - I was watching with sound off at work, the Hirst didn't appear to hit reserve. It appeared on screen and everything and I don't think it was withdrawn. Sorry can't offer more help than that.
Prices for Hirst stuff seem very mixed in this auction, some v high, others much more reasonable.

Andy Warhol 🇺🇸 Real or Fake? • Sunday B. Morning Print, by Love Is In The Air on Jan 15, 2016 14:22:19 GMT 1, The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao presents Shadows (1977–78) by Andy Warhol, a monumental artwork of 102 large format, silkscreened panels that reflect some of Warhol’s explorations with abstraction through his signature palette of bright and cheerful hues, which characterized a large part of his work. Curator Lucia Agirre is working on the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao's presentation of Andy Warhol: Shadows, which is organized by Dia Art Foundation.
At 50 years old, Andy Warhol, the irreverent Pop Art icon, and chronicler of an era, embarked upon the production of a monumental artwork titled Shadows with the assistance of his entourage at the Factory. The Shadows panels are silkscreened canvases. To understand the radical implications of Warhol’s Shadows, one must begin with the work’s form: the Shadows series was conceived as one painting in multiple parts, the final number of canvases determined by the dimensions of an exhibition space. The “shadows” alternate between positive and negative as they march along the walls of the gallery. (apologies if thread is in wrong place, just got sent the above press release so thought I would pass on )
Looks decent if you are a Warhol fan like me, decent reason for a weekend in sunny Spain...

Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by Love Is In The Air on Jan 10, 2016 0:20:49 GMT 1, Hi K,
I know you said you looked at Manifold, but I would advise contacting them, James who runs the company is a lovely guy, and he may well have other Hirsts not on the website at around 5k. I've bought two spot prints from him in the past, and his ones are small editions and lovely 'woodcut' spots which I think helps make them look very bright and eyecatching. There are also quite a few in a Phillips Auction coming up on January 21 with estimates around 5k, but no guarantee you would get one for that price of course.
Good luck with the purchase!

Luke Chueh Kickstarter project, by Love Is In The Air on Nov 30, 2015 10:45:24 GMT 1, Got this on email 2 weeks ago(in case you didnt), still no photos etc so am guessing UK delivery will be late Dec/Jan...
The factory is about to begin painting and boxing them, so we hope — fingers crossed — that they'll be landing here in two or three weeks. As we get more information, we'll let you know… Hope to have some new photos to share soon!

Has this place changed? , by Love Is In The Air on Nov 5, 2015 0:46:23 GMT 1, Only been on here a year so perhaps I am not best placed to voice an opinion, but price/cost/investment takes up a lot of space here and I guess that is to be expected to a degree given high Banksy print costs these days.
But on more positive note I have learned a huge amount from others in last 12 months and discovered a number of new artists who are now amongst my favourites. So there are still plenty of positives on here for lots of us and I appreciate it when you wiser members share your knowledge ; )
I also think when Dismaland was on, it showed forum at its best in the sense people were getting stuff for other members who couldn't go, offering spare tickets for free and working together and sharing their thoughts and memories from WSM. It was a great thread and a fantastic month or so to post on the forum.

Stik Sleeping Baby, by Love Is In The Air on Nov 1, 2015 23:29:25 GMT 1, Advert for your listing much? I hope you are joking.
Anyone who flips a print that was to raise money for NHS is pretty low/sick IMO. Was more a post because I couldn't understand how anyone could even have two in their possession, and worse still it is some loser who is buying them purely for profit. Remember lots of decent people on here trying and failing to get one of these.

Stik Sleeping Baby, by Love Is In The Air on Nov 1, 2015 23:19:17 GMT 1, Just spotted guy on the bay selling a Stik Baby in NHS Blue which will probably be annoying to those who just missed out in the queue:
But what's worse is his feedback shows he has sold one before(is that even possible?) And he has also sold the James Joyce Dismaland print I liked for 1k. King of the flippers I suppose....or as he puts it "An experienced collector who knows how to handle/ship art correctly". Grrr

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Love Is In The Air on Oct 15, 2015 19:00:13 GMT 1, Anyone thinking of buying or selling a Toxic Mary Unsigned? If so, one appears to have sold earlier this week on eBay for £3350. eBay item number: 111789037048. Was framed and can't vouch for seller's claims of excellent condition, but may be a reasonable pointer for future sales or purchases.
Am hoping to pick one of these up myself at some point in 2016....love the drips on this print.

Gerhard Richter 🇩🇪 Abstract • Contemporary Art • New Relea, by Love Is In The Air on Oct 14, 2015 21:27:27 GMT 1, I've tentatively put name down for the Richter but yet to pay. Was told by Serpentine if I submitted purchase form today I would "be in with good chance" of getting one but demand was highest for this print and guy seemed to be suggesting it would sell out soon. Not sure if I am caught up in the hype of previous prints but I do like this one.
Agree with comment above it would need to be in small wall and isn't something that would dominate a room.
I am no expert in this type of work but am I right in presuming it is hard to get anything from Richter for around 1k at the moment? Thinking I would hang for few years but that it is also an OK investment if I am ever skint.
Would be interested to hear what other more knowledgable forum members think...have been on here a year now and seem to be constantly buying or considering buying great work!

Gerhard Richter 🇩🇪 Abstract • Contemporary Art • New Relea, by Love Is In The Air on Oct 14, 2015 13:48:03 GMT 1, The Bacon pieces are nice but £2500 and £4500 each...not cheap. For £4500 you are getting quite close to price of buying a print signed by him at auction on a good day.....
Don't own any Richter and unlikely to be able to afford the earlier prints so might take the plunge on this one if I can still get a copy.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Love Is In The Air on Sept 22, 2015 21:56:06 GMT 1, Went for second time yday and loved it again. Staff still superb - one threw a map in my mate's face - and saw bits I somehow missed first time around.
Have been contacting US forum members on this thread who were looking/asking for programmes posted over to them. If anyone else Stateside is looking for one PM me as I bought couple of spares in case anyone wanted at cost and am heading to Post Office in the morning.
Also picked up couple of spare James Cauty leaflets as they weren't there when I went before. Not earth shattering stuff but if anyone is big fan and missed out and wants one give me a shout and I will post.
Real shame Dismaland is coming to an end, loved the concept and the work on show. It has brought a lot of positivity and interest to this forum IMO, when sometimes there is too much talk about what things cost, flipping and profit.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Love Is In The Air on Sept 11, 2015 9:38:39 GMT 1, Hi. Long time "lurker" on this board, and admittedly not much of a contributor, but wondered if anybody could help me. Was fortunate enough to visit Dismaland on weds and Thursday last week and loved it, however on both days the programmes were sold out. Would anybody be able to pick one up for me please? Will obviously reimburse for both the programme and postage costs. Here's hoping. Was there thursday, all sold out. Lucky for me programs were restocked on Friday, would have sucked to not have one. Someone help this guy out. I can help tobomore - will PM now

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Love Is In The Air on Sept 5, 2015 0:03:06 GMT 1, Finally got to go myself today in 11am slot, not much I can add to mass of info on here. Thought whole experience was incredible, cross section of people going to Dismaland also hugely varied, more so than any other art exhibition/park I have ever been to. Made me love Banksy more than ever, introducing thousands of people to lots of new artists who will hopefully benefit.
Big queue seemed to form for Cinderella souvenir pics in castle so perhaps worth heading there first if you don't have loads of time inside and want a pic.
Staff were on great form on the hook-a-duck-from-muck stall. Told one women she needed to pay £2 if she wanting to carry on watching, told another girl to "go away" immediately after she won and then told a bloke with a beard and hat: "I'm afraid that is time up Fleetwood Mac" before taking his rod away!!
Would love to go when not driving afterwards and sink a few beers or ciders there in the evening. Praying I can somehow get tickets for the Massive Attack gig.
Preaching to coverted on here, but anyone still in two minds, I would say do anything you can to get there. Great experience, lots to see, personally I would pay ten times entrance costs to go in there again in a heartbeat.

Dismaland Tickets x2 Thurs 3/9 at 9pm, by Love Is In The Air on Aug 31, 2015 13:28:24 GMT 1, Hi,
Have two tickets for this Thursday to Dismaland at 9pm but sadly now can't get out of work early enough to get there. In keeping with the spirit of the forum and other Dismaland giveaways thought these would be nice freebie for someone here .
Not sure how tight the security are with ID but at a push I might be able to also email/post someone an old utility bill I guess! Someone here may know if this is needed or if they are not checking IDs???
First person who can definitely make Thursday night and PMs me gets the tickets and hopefully a reason to smile amidst this dismal weather today. Cheers

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Love Is In The Air on Aug 21, 2015 21:58:10 GMT 1, Had a fairly non-productive day like many of you, in search of tickets.
Now to rub it in, on twitter Geoff Barrow from Portishead (@jetfury) is tweeting from Dismaland and and says Richard Hawley has just taken to the stage to play live. If Portishead play later I may cry!
Finally, thanks to everyone on here for keeping me entertained today (and sane). Was good to know I wasnt alone in desperately refreshing for tickets and feeling v frustrated.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Love Is In The Air on Aug 20, 2015 23:43:00 GMT 1, Totally agree with above comment about boosting area. Went to WSM as a kid and whilst it was never Britain's best loved beach, it was popular enough for holidays and day trips in 90s. Tropicana, the site this is on, closed as a water ride park in 2000 and think it has been downhill since then in terms of tourism. Banksy will give whole town a lift, it is a brilliant gesture. Makes me love him even more.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Love Is In The Air on Aug 20, 2015 8:57:08 GMT 1, I might need to cut my trip to Prague by a day to fly in to see this on they way back to the states. Bristol is the best airport? Then it looks like a train from the airport to the town? Yes Bristol is closest airport, then get from airport to WSM on train. Shouldn't take more than about 45mins even if you have to change trains and go from airport via Bristol Temple Meads which is main station in town.
