Banksy - New York Times, by Inknart on Feb 5, 2020 16:14:33 GMT 1, Yeah, very interesting line in that it's almost unknown for there to be a 'pre-announcement' of anything he's involved with. If it's truly "significant", what else could it be apart from retirement (which I doubt). Unveiling his identity (equally unlikely) or killing his own market by giving everything away/selling off unlimited copies perhaps. Hopefully it's a new project rather than any of these If he was planning on tanking his market, i doubt bbay would be a thing
GDP Second Round? Maybe another pop up, but this time in the US?
Doubting a retirement, as he has plenty to give and uses his work to push topics and donate to good causes.
Don't think an identity reveal as he has said before that being anonymous is like having a super power.

Damaged Banksys, by Inknart on Feb 3, 2020 17:10:11 GMT 1, How much does acid free archival hinge tape on the back of the print hurt value? There are 3 small spots at the top-back of my print where it was affixed in a mat. Thanks I'm sure people will say it effects value, but in reality once it's framed (probably with tape over the same spots) no one would know the difference... or care. This is extremely common for a lot of banksy prints. If it's just light tape marks , I really don't think it should devalue that much at all. A lot of these prints are so old, that light tape marks and some very light matte burn to me would still be good condition.
As long as as the paper isn't visibly damaged from tape removal, i'd say it shouldn't hurt that much.
A lot of restoration companies can also get those out.

UV Protection Glass • Museum Glass, by Inknart on Feb 3, 2020 17:06:54 GMT 1, I have about 15-20 prints in storage. I can't afford the UV glass for them. So regular glass it is. Just need to keep them away from direct sunlight. The only piece i've ever framed without UV glass sat in a corner and the fading was bad when i took it out where the matte covered the print. I would window float them, so at least the possibility of fading is even...

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Inknart on Jan 31, 2020 23:49:02 GMT 1, Those look incredible! I have a “crisis as usual” it’s with a framer at the moment. p Personally you’ve ruined them and spend far too much getting them straight you’ve lost the love ... may as well buy the lazor prints on eBay! I picked up 2 on the last day! Still looking for a Crisis $ or trades avail.

Paul Insect • Together Alone, by Inknart on Jan 31, 2020 23:41:51 GMT 1, This was probably the craziest print release ive ever seen, i waited refreshing the page and it only had the add to card button for maybe a split second. I clicked it and then it said sold out. anyone have any idea what these are going to resell for? You're in for a wild ride if you thought this was disappointing haha.
Resell... I don't think these will sell for much more than cost. Fantastic print, but I think the pricing was near secondary on these.
Probably more meat on the standard edition than the special edition. That is just my opinion though.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Inknart on Jan 31, 2020 20:30:31 GMT 1, Numbers are way off My guesses: 2000 RATS 750 CRISIS 150 THROWER Howzat? We all got a bit obsessed with GDP as it happened and Flowers only came to light that final afternoon. Best moment was a polite young brown coat offering an old dear a free poster and her demanding “Of whort?!” 1000-500-250

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Inknart on Jan 30, 2020 22:59:44 GMT 1, I don’t think it’s worth that. Probably £20-22k in pristine condition. Wow. I didn't realize an unsigned PF was more than a LN. I thought it was closer to a BL.

Banksy Captured Book • Steve Lazarides , by Inknart on Jan 30, 2020 19:09:41 GMT 1, Got the same copy pasted email this morning... Possible you will end up with a #1-100 of the first edition then. They kept the first 100..... Are the actual books numbered or just the "packaging?"

KAWS - Blankets Studio Voltaire, by Inknart on Jan 30, 2020 17:43:56 GMT 1, It can probably be stretched like a canvas (to some extent) and put in a tray frame. Likely to be quite an inexpensive thing to do. These look pretty massive, will no UV glass be needed to protect against fading... or moths.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Inknart on Jan 29, 2020 23:59:50 GMT 1, cant help but comment on wisdom of hanging any art in direct sunlight, not a good idea no matter what glass you use, direct sunlight is incredibly damaging. That's life, i suppose. Lots of windows in my home.
I've only ever had issues with 1 print fading , and it didn't have UV glass

Archives: Kaws, Sorayama, Banksy, Calleja ect. for sale!, by Inknart on Jan 29, 2020 23:57:14 GMT 1, Any tips on authenticity for items without official COAs, such as the OriginalFake Kaws pieces? If the price is too good to be true, it's fake.
If price is near secondary market, join the kaws facebook group and post pics of the piece and you will get some good feedback.

Archives: Kaws, Sorayama, Banksy, Calleja ect. for sale!, by Inknart on Jan 29, 2020 23:53:38 GMT 1, How can you expect people to send you pieces to sell when you write this..... "I don't care if the items just sit on the site for ages." You need to put up some provenance, its easy to say 100% Authentic guaranteed. If you don't care about selling your collection then why bother setting this up Write offs? Possibly.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Inknart on Jan 29, 2020 22:17:48 GMT 1, Is there any truth to this yellowing? If one was to frame using museum grade glass, surely it would not be a problem? The prints going yellow cause of the acid within the paper, no museum glass will stop this from happen. If this is true, what is the timeline? Mine look the same after 2 months in direct sunlight with UV Glass. I simply don't believe these speculations.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Inknart on Jan 29, 2020 18:18:43 GMT 1, I love how everyone is so bitter about these. LOVE THEM. I wonder how many of these same people complaining hopped on the soup can train... which to me is far less superior than these in every fashion. Who is bitter you silly little. arse ?, I could have one if i so desired but they aint my thing at all. "So how much did you invest in this unsigned unnumbered non certifiable print guaranteed to be yellow in a year ?
That sounds pretty damn bitter to me. Guess calling someone a "silly little arse" really pushes your bitter juvenile demeanor further into perspective.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Inknart on Jan 29, 2020 16:49:51 GMT 1, What was the recycled paper used for Banksy's prints previously made from? Also, I've now had mine on wall for months in direct sunlight with 0 color change. Which prints? All of his prints, i think. Weren't they made from recycled paper?

Paul Insect • Together Alone, by Inknart on Jan 29, 2020 16:32:13 GMT 1, If framed correctly, I don't think you'll have to worry much. Everyone on here has an opinion, especially when they don't necessarily see eye to eye on different things, myself included. I still recommend PFG if you can get these over to him. Great at flattening them, and has had them since they were released and is great at confirming if they're authentic. Ok then.. Responded to wrong post . Carry on.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Inknart on Jan 29, 2020 16:30:25 GMT 1, Is there any truth to this yellowing? If one was to frame using museum grade glass, surely it would not be a problem? Newsprint, which must be produced as economically as possible, has more lignin in it than finer papers. At the mill, the wood that will be turned into newsprint is ground up, lignin and all. Paper manufacturers utilize the benefits of lignin in some types of paper, though. Brown kraft paper, the dark brown paper used in grocery store bags, and cardboard are stiff and sturdy because they have more lignin in them, and because those kinds of paper aren't treated with bleaching chemicals. It doesn't matter how dark they are because the printing on them is limited. To make a fine white paper, the mill puts the wood through a chemical solvent process, which separates and discards the lignin. Pure cellulose is white, and the paper made from it will be white and will resist yellowing. Lignin eventually turns paper yellow because of oxidation. That is, the lignin molecules, when exposed to oxygen in the air, begin to change and become less stable. The lignin will absorb more light, giving off a darker color. Chang says that if newsprint were kept completely out of sunlight and air, it would remain white. After only a few hours of sunlight and oxygen, however, it will start to change color. What was the recycled paper used for Banksy's prints previously made from?

Paul Insect • Together Alone, by Inknart on Jan 29, 2020 16:23:51 GMT 1, My impression is that Paul, Bast and Faile left galleries like POW and Lazarides and joined Allouche to become more “blue chip”. Unfortunately I don’t think that’s worked so far for any of them, but Paul does well on his own merit, despite Allouche not because of them. They could all do with better representation, IMO, despite liking the art Allouche puts out! I wish Bast would pick up some traction. I do love his chaotic charm. It looks fast , but also composed in some strange way.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Inknart on Jan 29, 2020 16:13:18 GMT 1, Good Question! I buy what I like. However, I don't like losing money. So I try to get the best prices I can. I have no issue of buying something for £2000 and only being able to sell it for £2100 5 years late. "Investing" and contemporary art don't really go together. Unless you know something that no other man knows. UPDATE: I just pulled the trigger and purchased a "Crisis As Usual" So how much did you invest in this unsigned unnumbered non certifiable print guaranteed to be yellow in a year ? I love how everyone is so bitter about these. LOVE THEM.
I wonder how many of these same people complaining hopped on the soup can train... which to me is far less superior than these in every fashion.

Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by Inknart on Jan 24, 2020 18:10:24 GMT 1, Nope, they won't be eligible for PC COA and it's dedicated to a specific individual. It's a fantastic keepsake, but it won't ever be worth a "ton." But, then again, it depends on what you consider a ton. In the realm of signed banksy prints with coa's, it will not be. What makes you think PC won't give a COA?
That Flower Thrower that Phillips have for sale at the moment was a gift, and that has a COA?
Massive Original is different from a screen print I suppose. That and i don't think any gift prints with dedications were ever given coa. I'm assuming whoever received that was very tight with B.

Banksy GDP staff gift prints, by Inknart on Jan 24, 2020 17:10:52 GMT 1, Werent the cans and dismaland ones more produced ? Theres only 14 of these Two ways to look at imo - Disma and Cans can be found for 6-9k£. As a gift print this could be priced the same - This gift print is also a rat print, and everyone knows it’s about the rats. so maybe 12 or more who knows In both cases it remains a gift print and shouldn’t be compared in any way to a print with a COA, for price reasons or otherwise. It's a GIFT print, NOT eligible for COA. With YOUR name on it. Frame it and enjoy the fact you have a signed banksy dedicated to you from one of the most prolific artists of our generation who is world renowned. Pass it onto family and stop worrying about the price.
It sounds like you're now fishing for some big number to try and offload.
Throw it in an auction if you want to price check it.
