Miss Bugs Once We Dreamt Print, by pressman on Dec 3, 2015 17:46:52 GMT 1, Well done, that's a great purchase in my opinion. I decided against it due to overspending on art recently. Perhaps i'll try and pick one up on the secondary in the future.

Sandra Chevrier , by pressman on Dec 1, 2015 17:32:57 GMT 1, I wasn't arguing the release prices - I also got the email from COA this morning. But I don't see how the new releases mean that that this piece is worth around 20k...

Inkie angry over Dr Martens street art advert , by pressman on Nov 13, 2015 10:04:44 GMT 1, I appreciate there's exceptions but from memory listed buildings make up well under 1% of building stock in the UK and similarly, conservation areas are in a minority. Permitted Development Order was updated this year although I doubt painting of buildings changed.
Like you say dappy, it's open to interpretation and where do you draw the line? Local authorities suing someone for painting on a wall because they are a 'larger corporation' sets a dangerous precedent. The day that street artists submit detailed planning applications for all their work because it could be interpreted as advertising is not one to look forward to!

I only grabbed photos of a couple of the pieces but hopefully its better than nothing. Although I love Dan Baldwins previous work, his latest paintings really seem to have really evolved.

Has this place changed? , by pressman on Oct 29, 2015 0:03:44 GMT 1, Yay, almost at 50 posts! I've only been on here about 5 months so I can't comment on days gone by but I've been well impressed by people's knowledge and grateful for everyone's help so far. We all see the odd idiot who likes to belittle newbies like me but they are the minority. I'm not sure what my point is but I think it's generally a really good community. Those helpful members are definetly the reason why I still log on regularly.....

Road trip to Belgium/Northern France, by pressman on Oct 28, 2015 13:22:16 GMT 1, I'm going for a quick break to Belgium for a couple of days - leaving tomorrow morning and returning Saturday evening. I've done Brugges and Brussels a couple of times so was going to try Ghent and maybe somewhere else.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where else may be worth a try and if there's any galleries/exhibitions or street art worth a look at? We're driving so getting around isn't a big issue although i don't want to drive more than a few hours from Calais.
And if anyone has a clue about Ghent, are there any favourite hang outs? I know we're not going to be short on choices of beer.
Cheers

Damian Hirst - LSD spot print - reduced, by pressman on Oct 26, 2015 18:23:45 GMT 1, Hello, Great Piece and Great Price, but more concerned with lack of COA, Should you have a COA I would buy immediately. Not sure if you are aware but this work was heavily faked, and even sothebys and christies unknowingly sold fakes. Since then there has been a crackdown on this and other lamda prints. Given youa re in the UK, can you secure a HIAC cert? or can we purchase based on approval from proper authorities? Surprised no one raised this here....... It looks like you're buying it immediately....

Jean-Michel Basquiat 🇺🇸 Brooklyn, New York • Graffiti Art , by pressman on Oct 22, 2015 21:59:47 GMT 1, My initial reaction was what a bunch of money grabbing bummers but realistically why shouldn't they do what they want? It seems reasonable to sell something at what is deemed to be market value and obviously a number of people thought it was just that. I think its a crazy amount of money but if it was half the price, the chances are, it would have been the same people that bought one.
Personally, this print wouldn't appeal to me even if i did have the money to burn. But, in a matter of fact kind of way there isn't actually much difference between an artist releasing a print posthumously and releasing it whilst they are alive. Ultimately the print is still a copy of an original. The one thing missing is his signature. Its not as though Basquiat would have pulled the screens himself. We will never know whether or not he would have wanted this print released or not - and from what i understand the printers usually have a say in choosing the print in any case.....
