Harland Miller..., by maxamaxa2 on Feb 8, 2017 16:00:44 GMT 1, Do all HM prints come with a COA? At least the red edition of "who cares wins" from reflex comes with a simple coa printed on a sticker label. Its a label printed by Reflex and not signed so it may vary depending on print house, so no idea about the rest.

Gavin Turk ๐ฌ๐ง Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by maxamaxa2 on Feb 6, 2017 16:29:39 GMT 1, I saw it, great quality. But i don't get how someone would pay money for a reproduction of a dead persons image, after they died. I guess the Basquiat prints recently released are the best example of this absurdity. So many better things to buy by living artists that sign or don't sing the prints they decide to publish.
Thanks. Yeh, thats my concern, I realize its not the best invested money but I really like it so im trying to decide if its worth it. I would prefer to buy an original from a living artists but its not very easy to find good stuff that doesn't cost a fortune, even prints in this caliber is damn expensive.
...but you are right, waiting would be the sane move.

Gavin Turk ๐ฌ๐ง Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by maxamaxa2 on Feb 4, 2017 20:05:50 GMT 1, Went to this today. Really enjoyed it. Also very impressed with the Newport Street Gallery too. Friendly staff, cool shop and excellent restaurant. Picked up another Harland Miller book too.
Did you see the John Hoyland, 29.4.67 print? In that case, any thoughts on quality or other? Would sit nicely on my wall but hard to really know when I can't see it live, giclee and embossed signature feels a little soso but I really like the aesthetics of it.

Harland Miller Prints, by maxamaxa2 on Feb 2, 2017 13:21:00 GMT 1, Liberty edition is not a giclee, its offset litho; this is discussed in the Liberty Raffle thread from last summer. thanks, its now updated.
Im still shocked that one sold at phillips for over ยฃ10 000 (guessing the stated ยฃ8750 is without hammer price and tax) last week.

Harland Miller Prints, by maxamaxa2 on Feb 2, 2017 9:25:04 GMT 1, What a mess, I tried to make some sort of structure to it, please add info or correct me if I done something wrong
My conclusion about the gicleรฉ hand finished versions is that they are of a different size than the main edition and it wouldn't make sens to screen print a unique piece with screenprinting method and then heavily modify it, guess you barely see anything of the actual print since they look extensively hand finished. But I havnt seen them in person so its only speculations.
This is as far as I came with "who cares wins"
Red edition Size: 138x110cm Type: Screenprint on 410gsm somerset Released by: Reflex Amsterdam Main edition: 50 AP: 5
Red edition Size: 64x50cm Type: Screenprint on 410gsm somerset Released by: Reflex Amsterdam Main edition: 50 AP: 5 HC 10 (these seem to have been prints given to charity)
Pink edition Size: 58x43cm Type: Offset lithograph on 300gsm somerset Released by: Liberty London for Artists with liberty project Main edition: 25
Hand finished pink version of the red type Size: 144,8x111,8cm Type: Oil and watercolour on giclรฉe Released by: Other Criteria(?) Main edition: Unique
Hand finished version of the red type Size: 135,2x109,6cm Type: Extensive painting and annotation on screenprint Released by: ? Main edition: Unique
Hand finished version of the red type Size: 143,7x109,7cm Type: Oil and acrylic on giclรฉe Released by: ? Main edition: Unique
Updated, thanks @kintoreton

Framing mdf, by maxamaxa2 on Jan 2, 2017 16:29:34 GMT 1, Putting it in a "normal" frame profile where the glass use to go might work?
Made a quick sketch of what I mean below, where the black is the frame, the yellow is the mdf and the green is wooden blocks screwed into the frame. Might need some cross supports depending on the mdf-shape but should go without violating the mdfs personal space

Bloody coffee machines........? Utrbane Kunst Winter Show, by maxamaxa2 on Nov 29, 2016 12:49:06 GMT 1, @bustart sorry, im from the wrist watch world and I know that people would get hanged if the advertising for baselworld would include a fake watch even thou they dont sell it at the fair. Since you have a fake in the photo, you (or someone) have bought the fake which mean that somebody supported the production of the fake instead of supporting the artist. I feel the relaxed view of fakes in the art world very strange but every one to his own and I guess I have to get used to it. I have no doubt that you are good with the artists, just think its strange to advertise the opposite.
Anyway, whats done is done, no need to put that in a stretch, so good luck with the fair now!

Utrbane Kunst Winter Show, by maxamaxa2 on Nov 28, 2016 19:35:59 GMT 1, You seriously advertise your trade fare with a fake? Telling every artist and visitor that you dont give a toss about the artists. And you don't even have the artist or his works there? Sorry but this is insane.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by maxamaxa2 on Nov 11, 2016 10:55:50 GMT 1, That's a beauty ! May I ask who did the framing? I went circular cut and am still deciding how to frame up ! The picture frame gallery framed a round one recently, they have some pictures on their instagram "pfg242", copy paste the link below, didn't want to make it a picture in this thread since its not mine
[instagram url="http://instagram.com/p/BLvvy8BDqHo"]
Edit: Gaaah the editor on this board is hopeless, editing text within a code-section haha

can we dispel the notion that lower print # means anything?, by maxamaxa2 on Oct 31, 2016 15:12:01 GMT 1, Wouldn't pay more for it, but if two were up for sale at the same price I would def choose the lower number. So, it have some kind of value. And now, thinking about it I actually paid a premium for a number 1 just a whila ago, was only ยฃ20 and in the end it got lost during shipping. So again, I think it have a value in some cases but its not a deal breaker.

Kai & Sunny ๐ฌ๐ง New Print Release โข Exhibition News, by maxamaxa2 on Sept 22, 2016 8:01:56 GMT 1, Shame - would have had it if you were UK based. Good luck in your sale ..... This piece should be silly-easy to ship over seas tbh. Its 50x65 framed and made of metal, even fedex should be able to deliver unharmed... ok I exaggerated, fedex would drive a forklift over it 8 times and then put it under water for the whole transition, but you get my point, easily shipped for most carriers

To sale, by maxamaxa2 on Sept 19, 2016 14:01:04 GMT 1, Hi, don't understand the but of this forum. If people are intersted to buy, everyone can send me a message in pm. If I wanted to speak with you around cup of tea...I could understand your message. The problem is that people here is all deeply interested in art, and when dealing with it a lot you get a little tired when people cut and paste the info of an artwork from Sotherbyยดs (as you did) and doesn't add anything except the "very rare" which tells us that you think we are idiots not knowing that.
You havnt said anything about the artworks condition, no price point and no picture. The location is now know after dragged out of you (or yeh, the country at least). You have to make the thread good enough to make people sure that its worth taking the risk and time to deal with you, this thread yells to all of us to run away.
Its not the language, its the time and effort you put into the community and this sales thread that people are reacting to.
So, welcome to the board as an active member if you want to be one, if you are here to of load a print please choose ebay instead.

Murakami editions, help needed, by maxamaxa2 on Sept 19, 2016 8:35:34 GMT 1, For a newbie as me, the biggest headache was the insane amount of prints and the fear of some being fakes. After some digging I found and bought one from kaikai. Now, with it in my hands, I really like the quality and depth of this print, it is fantastic on a modern technology level as a contrast to the breath of history as many of my hand pulled prints have. The only concern now is that damn round frame which seem impossible to source in Sweden hehe
Must give a big thanks to whiterabbitexpress whom arranged the purchase and shipping flawlessly, and to kaikai for superior packing!
I did also find a nice reference site (not all of his print but some at least with info) that might be of use to some one: www.sugimoto68.com/murakami-archive/

WARNING - Parcel Monkey, by maxamaxa2 on Aug 29, 2016 10:57:59 GMT 1, I have changed from double tubes to one standard tube and one metal spiro tube (standard ventliation tube) for the valuable prints, seem to work fine this far and the weight is no issue it seems (always use standard inner tube, the ventliation tubes is not super clean).
For sweden fedex is the bad one, they have damaged two badly and delivered one i the wrong country over the last year. Terrible support and a "its your fault we have delivered it"-mentality (took me a week of nagging before they realized that they had my harland miller delivered to someone in italy instead of to me in sweden as they claimed.

WCP The West Country Prince, by maxamaxa2 on Aug 25, 2016 9:46:15 GMT 1, Great to see the comparison, guess it boils down to whether someone thinks the WCP quality is worth ยฃ50 or whatever they sell for to have an image they like. If they did a no ball games one I would probably buy one as it is one of the few banksy's my wife likes!!! And she really wouldn't care less if it was ยฃ19k cheaper than the real thing, in fact I think she would be rather pleased to know that!!!
Why not just google a picture and print it? Its even cheaper and probably you will get a better resolution. Dont forget to stamp "Copy" on the back to make legit

So, taking it to your frame maker directly to test stuff out will save you the trouble of ps-works that wont come to life

Harland Miller Prints, by maxamaxa2 on Aug 18, 2016 15:22:48 GMT 1, Don't see the attraction myself. They are all a bit "Keep Calm and Carry on" to me. Fashionable comedic sloganeering with little artistic value. Just get a poster I think you have to go and see one for your self instead of photos on the internet.. or just buy something else, not every one like the same pieces and that is ok. This forum would be unreadable if everyone wrote a post every time they didn't like something
