Stockholm - ideas and advice please, by maxamaxa2 on Aug 17, 2016 8:08:04 GMT 1, That all depend on what you like but I would suggest a visit to the museum of modern art that got an exhibition by Yayoi thats well worth a visit www.modernamuseet.se/stockholm/en/
Whats the age of your kids? Its quite a differens in activity's with kids of 3 vs 17 years. And in which part will you stay?
Always hard to recommend restaurants, but you can have a look at "Nosh and chow", "Mr French" and "Trattorian". "Smak" is less of a city pulse but a fun concept and good food, not a place to take yungsters thou If you are lucky to strike some good weather I would suggest to go for a boattrip to "Fjäderholmarna" and a dinner at "Rökeriet". These are all great and "relaxed" but quite expensive
I really enjoy the sushi at "Itamae Izakaya Sushi", for a lunch or a more "on our way-dinner". Its not a cozy place but great sushi in my opinion
Things to see and do depends on the age of your kids, but I guess the Old town is unavoidable. Take a Ramen soup as lunch at "Café Stiernan" on Österlånggatan 45

WCP The West Country Prince, by maxamaxa2 on Aug 8, 2016 10:36:32 GMT 1, Banksy could if he wanted too, put out some open editions Fairey style and if he chose to do that I would then be totally against buying copies. He seemingly has no interest in doing this, so I don't think it should be considered dirty or taboo to own a WCP. So, if an artist choose to have limited editions it makes copies ok but if the artist makes unlimited artworks then its not ok? Sorry but just because some cant afford a Banksy (including me) it doesn't make it ok to purchase and hang a fake.
But then im from the wrist watch world where fakes is a clear mark of ignorance and stupidity, better a cheap real watch than a fake rolex/PP but perhaps artworks are seen on with other eyes even thou I dont understand why it would.

WCP The West Country Prince, by maxamaxa2 on Aug 8, 2016 8:06:04 GMT 1, After all regardless of how you get a Banksy print these days, Banksy himself is not gonna benefit from the sale. At least WCP is an honest criminal. Dont he get droi de suite on prints when you buy it from auktions? And isn't it about respect for a great artist just as much as the money? I bet you can get a pretty decent oil copy of just about any artwork made for you. You could decorate your home with a mona lisa, that old guy doesn't benefit from you buying the original either.
The talk about fakes is always hard, cause the once that cant afford the real deal (in watches, art, furniture and so on) will always find some strange way to justify their buy and hold on to that, and every one else will always think they are idiots

Zedsy 🇬🇧 Street Art • New Print Release , by maxamaxa2 on Jul 30, 2016 21:32:52 GMT 1, Still don't have a clue why it disappeared from my PP while pushing the 'pay now'-button :-(
Its standard procedure, its not reserved by being in the cart it have to be paid for. If the login to paypal takes to long (most have some auto login) and it sells out in the mean time it will be gone. Just to avoid stock to be held up when people put them in cart but never finish the buy.

Legal website with illegal art work, by maxamaxa2 on Jul 8, 2016 19:31:22 GMT 1, Depend on the level of privacy but register a proton mail (proton.ch) ant then register a site thru wordpress.com , they give you a subdomain and are quite good at keeping customer privacy. Avoid using normal mail clients who attach your ip, avoid using your own cards/paypal if possible (even thou wordpress is quite ok with privacy there is always posibilitys in lawsuits. But I think most get caught cause they talk to much irl and then it dosnt matter who owns the website, its about who made the painting Its a great library of damage done up for grabs. ps. If you want an own domain name most hosts have a service to hide your name, its not a good protection but at least people cant get it as easy. And offcorse, dont use a mail service that include your ip when responding to mails ps2. You should use a vpn to hide your ip when register and use the website! and, if you say "here is my new website ww.something.co here, on facebook or some other place where its possible to backtrack, all your efforts is for nothing. The best way is to do legal walls and stop vandalising others property

Where do you buy most Art from?, by maxamaxa2 on Jun 14, 2016 14:14:28 GMT 1, Hard to say, its a great mix of it all. But I do like to buy from galleries, they usually know how to pack, ship and handle returns. I do also think that artists should continue selling thru galleries which are good at advertising and handling the whole process of dealing with customers. If artists kept to creating, instead of handling the business, I think it would benefit the scene in the long run. But it all depend on the scale offcorse, no need to buy services from a gallery if you paint as a hobby and charge $50 a piece

The £50 Art Thread, by maxamaxa2 on Jun 8, 2016 12:10:22 GMT 1, I picked up a couple of the Hatch '30 minute drawings' from this thread, but I'm away travelling at the mo so have not seen the results. Today I was looking on his website and I noticed a picture of a Viking/elk/dala horse holding a Cornish flag shield and talking about a Pasty. Since my brief was to create something for my half Cornish half swedish daughters using stereotypical elements from each culture - I can only assume this is one of mine! Very Pleased with the results - good fun little commission. www.hatch-art.com/shop/original-30-minute-drawing
Thanks for the tip, three of his birds on their way to sweden now

Harland Miller copies, by maxamaxa2 on May 30, 2016 13:08:46 GMT 1, Posters might do the trick? www.blainsouthern.com/bookshop/70 www.blainsouthern.com/bookshop/69
I rather have nothing than a fake tbh, so a real poster, shredding a book or saving for the print/original is in my mind the only way to go.
You could also get a penguin poster, its a long way from the harland millers artworks but if your looking for fakes/copies I assume its more the design than the artworks crafted beauty you are interested in.

SOLD, by maxamaxa2 on May 13, 2016 10:14:06 GMT 1, sharky Looks like its still available from source, or am I missing something here? At least you really should find a better storage than the tube, if you bought it in 2011 when it was released and have had it in the tube since it will be a pain to get it flat again.

Stevie Unknown 🇬🇧 Paintings • Print Release • Art For Sale, by maxamaxa2 on May 4, 2016 11:40:35 GMT 1, The two smaller editions are of other images. Very decently priced for handfinished editions, but not nearly as likeable. Oh, sorry I misunderstood. Thought it was the same image and that you didn't see the sentence. But no, the other prints wasn't that likable hehe

Stevie Unknown 🇬🇧 Paintings • Print Release • Art For Sale, by maxamaxa2 on May 4, 2016 10:35:08 GMT 1, I've been vaguely looking out for the print for about three years, without success. It's a great, fun image, and originally super cheap. This is too big and too expensive for me right now, but I like it all the same. He said he got a bunch of prints at £40 - 60, guess they are smaller and the price seems fair for something you been looking for so long.

Harland Miller Show, by maxamaxa2 on Apr 19, 2016 7:54:16 GMT 1, Confirmed that there will in fact be a print released of the show title. The part two version (the question mark) would look superb as a print! Hope the quality is as good as earlier releases.

Murakami editions, help needed, by maxamaxa2 on Mar 15, 2016 16:10:32 GMT 1, Thanks Matt and Happy Shopper Sorry for the delay. Was a little worried over fakes when there are so many variations and different signing and bad knowledge but think I got a quite good picture now. Im not really worried over the value, don't have enough for an OG and its not a big amount of money into a prints so it doesn't really matter. Interested in how the art world is responding to his immense output of print variations and if he is able to make quality prints with all time it takes to supervise or if the volume is taking over. I don't even understand how he have time for anything else than signing all day hehe Think it will look great in my living room and my wife have approved, hopefully I have a deal soon and I will see how the quality turns out to be when the time come. Thanks again for giving you thoughts on this.

Murakami editions, help needed, by maxamaxa2 on Mar 8, 2016 16:08:54 GMT 1, Would like some help with this kansei edition, Murakami seem to spit out more prints than I can count and I find no real source of information whats out there.
Do all these three exist and are they all editions of 300 each? The names I have found is top to bottom "A red river is visible", "Fresh blood" and "Korin red river" but the info is very blurry, can only see anything looking like a numbering on one of them and the signatures looks very different between the two I can see it on. So more info on these would be great, perhaps even a photo of one all framed up and on the wall?
Any thoughts on Murakamis future? I must admit that he seem to produce way too much and a lot of junk, I like this particular piece but im not sure about the artist and his approach, but perhaps im just too new and uninformed!? Feed me with knowledge please

Your latest Art Purchase?, by maxamaxa2 on Feb 29, 2016 15:49:19 GMT 1, Just received this beauty from the US. They declare it lower price, so no import duty etc was charged!
Looks nicer now than in the release pics!
But, its never a good idea to admit tax evasion on an open forum And, is that print laying directly against the glass? If so, I guess you have done it by your self and would suggest to change it, and double check that its an acid free back. Perhaps change for uv-glass too if you want to maintain value of the print.

For Sales Thread Improvements , by maxamaxa2 on Feb 26, 2016 14:30:19 GMT 1, Think that senior forum members need to step forward and setting the standard, there are few forums with as sloppy rules as here and if the standard is low on senior members threads then the rest will follow and the other way around (to a certain point ofc). Think that the absolute minimum should be a good description of whats for sale and its condition, the location, shipping possibility's, return policy and a price There should also always be required to have a picture of the item for sale.
These rules would make is a lot easier to buy art, to detect fakes and making it a lot safer for all. Its the least one could ask from the seller when its free to advertise here and as log as its not a real rule we should at least have as praxis to set the standard high.
