Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Flashback on Apr 18, 2017 15:17:55 GMT 1, That put me off too. It's also framed and no photos of it unframed. I've no reason to doubt its authenticity but i find it a wee bit strange that an original owner who has the POW receipt didnt spend the few quid required to obtain a COA. By not doing so i have no doubt their market was restricted. I would not bid on any Banksy on ebay without a COA regardless of provenance or condition but then again i would have lost out on a Barcode bargain going by current prices I sent him a few questions on it.
He's not the original owner so the COA he lost wasn't in his name. He said he applied for a name change a month or so ago but hasn't heard back yet. He wasn't aware at the time how long it takes them to get back.
I asked him to ask POW to at least confirm the OG owners details matched the print and receipt...he didn't think they would reply as it was Easter
Might be ok but I walked away just to be on the safe side.

Best way to store art?, by Flashback on Apr 17, 2017 16:52:44 GMT 1, I bought multiple ring binder cases (A1-A4) and the acid free sleeves for them from here -
quickdrawsupplies
For larger prints I bought these sleeves which are larger than A0 - Blueprint sleeves
Although it doesn't mention that they are acid free in the description, they confirmed to me that they are.
I taped one side of the cardboard containing the A1 folder together and put the A0+ sleeves in it like a sandwich and just stuck it under the bed:) Will do me until I get around to buying an A0 folder.
Only thing to note is that the A0+sleeves don't come with acid free paper dividers to put 2 prints in back to back. Should be easy enough to buy them separately somewhere else though.

Art buying vs Every day buying, by Flashback on Apr 10, 2017 12:23:42 GMT 1, I have that filter on everything, I am a cheapskate ! In fact, there are plenty stuff I didn't bought because I found it too expensive (anything above 100 USD is subconsciously categorised at expensive)... Need to think about it, it can take ages This said, watching prices of stuff is a good thing My wife never watch prices at shop. I live far so some goods (imported goods) are utterly expensive ! But she is right, at the end of the day, it is all about enjoyment and fun and pleasure. My old cheap keyboard is broken (a G key is fucked up); she has been telling me for months to buy a new one abroad and import it... What, spending 2000 USD ?? I am shivering !! And the family (kids and wife) often call me Mr. Krabs, I even have a Mr Krabs lego-bracelet 68.media.tumblr.com/aab467434e6fdddb3a0f0552f9dc0d42/tumblr_nq21d1RfSe1sug9wjo1_400.gif One of my arrow keys broke off and Dell wanted ยฃ56 for a replacement keyboard for my Alienware laptop as they don't warranty keys. Free install as I had a service appointment already made for another issue covered by warranty.
I went on ebay and bought a key for ยฃ3 posted and got the technician to fit it for free!

Paddle8 Auctions ๐บ๐ฒ BANKRUPT , by Flashback on Apr 7, 2017 2:25:57 GMT 1, They're having a laugh with the shipping costs $250 international for artwork costing between $500-2499. They must sorely need the cash to get back in the black! Ehhh...professionally packed, art insurance, and international shipping for $250 is reasonable. Shipping even a rolled print from the US internattional is $100 that doesnt include packing or insurance. anything framed is pricey. It's their job to pack professionally like any online business.
I've bought prints (albeit without extra added insurance) from the US and worked out the shipping options myself for the seller, and had them ship US to UK for something like $33.
Usual artist or gallery shipping costs for prints is $50 if not less.
I can ship a $1000 print (insured for that value) UK to US for about ยฃ35.
That's just me as an individual googling courier companies and using the options available, not a large company who would have discounts from various couriers from having an account.
asking 50% for shipping a $500 print is taking the piss in my opinion.

New Sandra Chevrier Sketches, by Flashback on Apr 6, 2017 21:18:35 GMT 1, carted favourite and then seemed they didn't want to ship to UK so missed out! Thanks COA! Really? Never had an issue with COA shipping to the UK before.
Only liked 1 sketch and it sold out straight away (less than 5 seconds) so obviously wasn't meant to be.
Some of them stuck around for 5-10 mins at least. Think it was COA moving them from the coming soon page to the sketches page which made it difficult for people to find.

Secret Santa 2016 - the Chat Thread, by Flashback on Feb 26, 2017 5:36:52 GMT 1, Long overdue props to Robin/Vikingsurfer for my secret Santa gifts!
He asked what artists I liked beforehand, and decided on going with introducing me to one I wasn't that familiar with. He picked a very brilliant and popular artist....called Stik, for his secret Santa gifts!
He also included his art on a postcard, postcard, (Artist Alice Leach) as his part of his secret Santa gifts, as his Christmas card...dedicated to me! That's above and beyond, I'm sure, all will agree:)
He also included an Oor Wullie album, which is the first one I've got since being a Kid, and meant SO MUCH TO ME! For the personal touch for being Scottish! Nice that someone thought that much to think that way:)
He perpetuated what this forum is all about, i.e. SHARING & CARING about ART.
There was a lot of people who gave & received secret Santa gifts. They might not have received actual art as a gift, but was still in the spirit of giving for Christmas and the ethos of this forum.
The recipient forum members who at least received, need to give kudos to those who spent the time and effort to give to others, as Robin/Vikingsurfer did to me.
Thank you so much Robin and long may this tradition continue:)

Skate deck, by Flashback on Jan 20, 2017 4:50:29 GMT 1, Sylvia Ji on Arbor.
Almost bought the snowboard version of the green one the other day as I love the image.
Female board but would've put it on the wall. Listed as new but it's actually been used for 2 weeks and you can see the binding marks on the top sheet
I ride 3 Arbor snowboards (Westmark, Blacklist and Draft) but the Sylvia Ji graphic on the women's board tops them all.

Pejac Print, Original, WANTED, by Flashback on Jan 16, 2017 16:16:34 GMT 1, Is the black mark above his shoulders on the print or dirt from your camera? what do you mean exactly ? I think its dirt on the cam what you see .. The Print is in super Condition because he is Protectet in a frame since I received it directly from the artist in 2014. Look above his shoulders and just to the right in your first, main picture. It looks like a possible thumb print.
