Banksy, Walled Off Hotel, GIFT SHOP, by medichead on Sept 8, 2017 12:09:05 GMT 1, Jesus the amount of misinformation and fake news going on in this thread is horrendous. I know it might seem like harmless trolling but it's just causing confusion.
I think myself along with many others would appreciate it if just the people who actually have something useful to contribute posted, i.e. you are there and can post photos.
Yes that means you, Bobs

For sale - Harland Miller The Me I Never Knew £7k, by medichead on Aug 31, 2017 11:49:02 GMT 1, Seems like a fair price.
Got to see one of these in the flesh the other day and I genuinely think they look fantastic. Annoyingly the title doesn't resonate with me as much as some others, but no doubt in my mind they look brilliant.

BP Portrait Awards 2017, by medichead on Aug 23, 2017 19:50:09 GMT 1, This is a phenomenal exhibition and I urge anyone who is able to get down there and see it. There are portraits that even standing a foot away you will refuse to believe are oil on canvas, they are just too photorealistic. Those aren't the only noteworthy examples, as csideguy has demonstrated.
You'll also be treated to portraits by Hockney, Opie, Close etc in the same place. Not to be missed!

Stik Sleeping Baby, by medichead on Aug 22, 2017 8:29:06 GMT 1, I live in the states and am interested. What is the asking price please? Also, what is that black dot in the lower left corner of the image? Thanks.
I'm sure everyone here has wondered the same thing at some point on their art collection journey. For various reasons the seller has concealed the edition number of the print for sale, so that mark isn't actually on the print.

Yes, looks like 'Ace' from his new series.

Banksy • Flower Thrower • Love is in the Air, by medichead on Jul 23, 2017 18:02:40 GMT 1, I just think at this point we need to call this what it is: a circus.
Would anyone buy a Banksy at a circus?
No? I didn't think so. Perhaps we should all just move on with our lives...?

Invader RVE Repetition Variation Evolution Print, by medichead on Jul 20, 2017 18:24:58 GMT 1, When does reselling become not flipping? Three months? Six months? A year?
Haven't got a horse in this race but just on this point: it becomes 'flipping' when it was bought with the sole intention of turning a profit, with no desire to hang it on the wall, in my opinion.
Timeframe therefore doesn't factor into determining whether someone is a flipper, but a short timeframe (from purchase to sale) will certainly leave a bad taste in some people's mouths.
Best of luck with the sale, regardless of the reason for it.
And yes, I prefer this to 'my friend doesn't know how to register an account for a forum, but has bot-like agility in navigating a Shopify checkout'. 🙄

Banksy Toxic Mary, Virgin Mary Print, by medichead on Jul 20, 2017 8:03:38 GMT 1, I did say that I didn't want a debate on whether the price was reasonable. Why does every sales thread need to descend into an argument over price? This is between the person selling and those that are interested in buying. Please keep quiet if you are not in one of these camps. Thank you.
Unfortunately with a Banksy sale thread there are always going to be too many people with vested interests: either as buyers or owners. GLWTS!

Banksy Toxic Mary, Virgin Mary Print, by medichead on Jul 19, 2017 13:03:25 GMT 1, I think I'd keep the Toxic Mary and sell the Trolleys - awesome framing!
100% agree. For me TM is one of the most interesting, meaningful, and timeless of Banksy's pieces. Each to their own, of course!

Harland Miller Show , by medichead on Jul 19, 2017 10:15:33 GMT 1, I was advised directly that all works were sold within 6 hours of opening...the show is officially SOLD OUT.. only going by what i have been told...could be wrong..
Also heard that, but then a handful of works were listed by WC on artnet, which seems odd if they did sell out... www.artnet.com/artists/harland-miller/

Harland Miller Artwork, VALUATION, by medichead on Jul 19, 2017 9:50:23 GMT 1, Has anyone worked out why he does some of his canvasses so large? Normal newish house ceilng height 2.4m His large canvas 2.8m High I am pretty sure he does not makes them for people with normal ceilings to buy, and as we have discussed his smaller canvasses for those with 'normal houses' have sold for £50k So why did he make the big ones, where do you think his market is for them I know, but i am not saying (i don't really)
Thought the exact same thing when looking around his latest exhibition. The large format canvases all require double height ceilings!

Art On A Postcard, by medichead on Jul 17, 2017 16:30:32 GMT 1, Paying to just be in with a chance of being able to buy a print - what is the world coming too
I may be wrong but I think it's just a simple raffle, therefore you are just paying to be in with a chance of winning the print. The winner of this raffle will not have any further costs to bear except postage.

Art On A Postcard, by medichead on Jul 16, 2017 19:53:45 GMT 1, £50 quid for a 1 in 200 seems a bit toppy. Surely they should have done £5 quid, more than 200 tickets and winning tickets pay £350 or similar yea at this math they're pulling 2,000GBP per print; this is strange
Which, in fairness to them, is a hell of a lot closer to market rate. Hopefully this is also for charity.
