Banksy Captured Book • Steve Lazarides , by chefd on Dec 1, 2019 20:12:05 GMT 1, lowest orders on this forum around 1130's after asking a few people You have to allow for people ordering multiples as well so even if you are in 1200s you might still be ok Negative.
If I ordered 3 books, I would still have one order number.

Banksy Captured Book • Steve Lazarides , by chefd on Dec 1, 2019 20:10:17 GMT 1, So you all know... I ordered a print very late last night and that had an order number of #1075.
So by my reckoning, if you have an order number below #1125, there is a high probability of congratulations in order!
Now, how many are going to cancel their order lol

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Nov 28, 2019 14:56:46 GMT 1, Rock n roll, man! I think it'd be epic if someone who got a mat actually used it as one. If I ever get around to winning a T-shirt, I'm gonna wear it as a muscle-fit and head on into town... I was going to go for the mat and was debating with myself whether to have it inside my apartment, when it is ready next year, or outside in the corridor. It's a small converted mill with 31 apartments total with 4 on my floor, so couldn't see most people knowing what it was or caring if it was outside.
In the end I couldn't decide so went for the Thrower and will hopefully have something ready for the wall when I move in!

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Nov 27, 2019 17:12:30 GMT 1, Random question...does anyone recall how many Tony's were made? It said from an edition but I can't recall if it actually listed the edition size anywhere. Don’t know, what’s „Tony‘s“? Sometimes I am not so smart 😬 I hope you meaning „The flower thrower“ was edition of 100. Oh I get it now , the tony rug, I think about 10 or 25. The showcard at the GDP "store" stated simply "from an edition" for the thrower triptych, and when selecting the item online it stated "100 available now" which I take to mean there will be a lot more than 100 produced. My guess in 250 signed and numbered.
But what do I know!?!?

And to think one day you will be in charge....

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Nov 21, 2019 23:42:52 GMT 1, I personally would be happy to pay £500 for a Banksquiat print and wait 10 years for it to be delivered. It was also stated on the site before purchasing. At what point would you start to wonder whether you were ever going to receive your goods knowing that you would have no way of getting your money back if you didn't? If one has paid with a credit card, then it really is a simple as a quick phone call or message via online banking to get the funds returned.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Nov 21, 2019 19:04:15 GMT 1, I have paid for the Thrower triptych. I know of someone first hand who has paid for a Banksquiat in Spain. I know of someone else via a friend who has paid for a Thrower in London. Whether any of us will actually receive a print is unknown. But one would have to think that as we have all paid, unless GDP find a reason to disqualify us, then we will have been successful in purchasing something other than the matt. Also out of interest what does the statement of your payment say. Who was the seller? The receipt says : Payment to: John Roberts (aka Banksy)
Only kidding... it says: At Sp * Grossdomesticprod
and to the other guy questioning whether anyone has actually paid... yes I have and not for a matt. Not everything in life is a conspiracy. Especially when it comes to draws with +300k entries!

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Nov 21, 2019 17:37:13 GMT 1, The only one in that list that would be considered a twist would be the shredded gwrb. The others are just stunts no twist involved. He set up a pitch selling work no big twist there. He exhibited at an art fair again so did hundreds of other artists. He applied to the summer show under an a different name and got rejected and then said oh im Banksy and then got let in. I've not got any ill feeling towards the artist but this narrative of Banksy adding twists to his releases or shows isn't correct. In fact every release in until now have been straight forward with no mystery involved. I think the same applys here. The mats were for sale and that's it, he's covered himself in the terms and conditions allowing him to advertise stuff that was never really for sale. This idea that there's going to be a big reveal or twist is wishful thinking and goes against how any of his releases have happened in the past. I have paid for the Thrower triptych. I know of someone first hand who has paid for a Banksquiat in Spain. I know of someone else via a friend who has paid for a Thrower in London.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Nov 21, 2019 17:30:39 GMT 1, I disagree, these are all publicity stunts not "twists". I haven't seen an example of where he has sold something and then delivered something "with a twist" instead. There are laws regarding the sale of items that need to be adhered to. And yes, I do believe the unlimited items will be delivered over time. Anyone who thinks he has potentially 10,000 cans laying around is mad. The time it would take to convert these into the product advertised would be immense. If you are looking for a twist, how about... there is no twist. So selling spray art for $60 then delivering a 'surprise, it's a real Banksy worth hundreds of thousands of dollars' isn't a twist? No one said that the twist would require him delivering additional value to any of the purchases. I just said don't be surprised if there isn't something not yet revealed that may be revealed around delivery time which may reignite interest. I stand by my assertion that there will be some sort of surprise coming. My point is, he has never sold anything clearly as BANKSY, as coming direct from him with no doubt that it is from him, and delivered something different or with a twist.
The market stall buyers at best may have thought they were buying fake Banksy pieces. None of them thought they were buying genuine Banksy pieces, and then surprise they are worth a fortune.
Banksy is clearly selling things in a store he has set up. He has a legal obligation to deliver what is stated. Yes he could add value in some way (he has never done it before when clearly selling items himself), but he can most definitely not take value away due to various laws.
Struggle to see where a twist could come in... but it would be interesting to be proven wrong.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Nov 21, 2019 17:15:25 GMT 1, To follow on, the only twist or stunt I can see being pulled is when he lists the hand-finished Thrower prints for sale, that they will be marked at the full market price.... he did after all ask for wealthy collectors to wait to purchase.
Let the pleabs like me get in at a ridiculous price point, and let the wealthy, whom he has no love for, pay retail.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Nov 21, 2019 0:39:08 GMT 1, Question, anyone care to hazard a guess at the total number of Thrower prints to be sold.
There is, of course, the hand-finished set to come, but how many do you think will be produced in total of the grey set?
100 were available in the first round.
Show card simply states "From an edition".
500 signed and numbered?

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Nov 20, 2019 14:19:43 GMT 1, The cheaper items clearly state they will be released in waves if demand outstrips supply:
Releases may be staggered if demand outstrips production.
I believe that all unlimited items are unlimited, and people will get emails as and when production catches up to demand. There is no "joke" that Banksy is playing, other than that which can be seen in the actual products. The joke is that HE is doing a homewares shop.
You can all let your minds relax and breathe now.

Pejac NY Show, by chefd on Nov 13, 2019 17:56:26 GMT 1, I think people need to realise there is a difference between bad customer service and not getting what you had hoped for.
Plenty of good experiences with Max, and some disappointing ones where I couldn't purchase what I would have liked.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by chefd on Nov 12, 2019 1:51:44 GMT 1, I think it will be a 5 month dribble out as the site says. The site did state it promises to be a disappointing retail experience, especially if you purchase something. So dreams of paying £10 for a can and receiving a print are way off the mark in my opinion, though it would be funny. Oh, and unlimited probably means unlimited. Just so long as you applied before the window shut... which means it is limited by time, not by number. Yeah, good points. So we think a can is a can? Makes sense... But if all of us who went for an unlimited item get what we want, where's the disappointment we were promised? I'd want my money back... The disappointment is that they will take so long to arrive as they will be made when cans become available.
I think the whole disappointing retail experience, especially for winners, is that they are not Amazon and product won't be thrown over your fence in 2 days time. I think teh disappointment will be you get exactly what you paid for. A house brick with handles, a TV that doesn't work, second hand t-shirts that have been tagged in a random size.
I am obviously wondering what the disappointment is for the prints.
