Flippers please file an orderly Que, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Sept 18, 2007 19:21:26 GMT 1, what purpose does starting this thread serve?do you want to encourage 'flippers' to flock there en masse tonight,so that you can say to yourself "i'm glad I didn't go,I wouldnt have got one anyway". If people shut up about 'how massive' queues may or may not be then there would be less of a problem. I think it serves as a reality check myself. You'd have to be a few short of the full deck to lie in the street all night for this.
yes.you would indeed need to have been sniffing glue or an equivilent to think a night on the street,in soho, for the pleasure of spending nearly 5k is a good idea

Favourite New Micallef Print?, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Sept 15, 2007 0:12:46 GMT 1, Minotaur for me conveys the false neutered idol of mass consumerism and war economies western socieities aspire to...feck me where did that come from...? And did it make any sense? the drink carlo also the overtly agressive nature and stampede mentality of mass consumerism and the need to aquire at all costs? of all it has the most depth, just not a looker. bit like my lady ;D
yes note the irony in the 'aggressive nature and stampede mentaility of...consumerism' as hundreds of city workers decend on soho to buy a print depicting their own behaviour

Its not about the money, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Sept 10, 2007 21:02:10 GMT 1, Hang on a minute I just wanted to get a conversation going and its worked Iโm not trying to tell anyone what they should or shouldnโt be doing with their art if people can't have a debate without taking their bat and ball home then maybe they shouldnโt be on here. vazie and beefstockcube got the conversation unfortunately pezlow, flibberty_gibbet can't give a descent reply without being rude. As for post man pat what the hells wrong with that if banksy did a postman pat print i bet you would be top of the mailing list.
was it rude cherrypicker?you are quite delicate aren't you?obviously our idea of what is 'rude' differs somewhat.judgemental posts from people who don't know if they have been ripped off for a stef print or not tend to irritate.. now you suggest the likes of myself or pezlow shouldn't be on the forum because we responded to your post with more bite than others.so not telling people what do whilst doing just that is something else you have mastered along with broadly generalising 4000 people on a forum.well done

Its not about the money, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Sept 10, 2007 19:52:31 GMT 1, Iโm not trying to twist anyoneโs melon but lets have a little bit of honesty on the Banksy forum I hear a lot of people going on about how its not about how much the print is worth as long as you like it tell that to the guys & girls whoโs prints are still in the tubes tucked up under there beds because they donโt want to touch it in case there grubby little hands should mark it and devalue it. A lot of people say buy what you like but this begs the question why are there so many people selling there prints on e-bay to make a quid or two for that new extension or that new car out side its print politics so lets have some honesty and hold up your money grabbing hands and tell the people the true whoโs in it for the cash
cherrypicker as well as being annoyingly hard to read this is also very naive.most people have changing tastes if you can believe it.otherwise I would still have postman pat pictures on my walls..as for not wanting to 'get it grubby' well theres a shock! amazingly having fingerprints all over my prints has little appeal,as I would think it does for anyone who has any respect for what they bought..your judgemental outlook grates as I doubt you are the re-incarnation of mother teresa and I remember your earlier post fishing for info on whether you had 'overpaid' for a stef print.

print numbers, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Sept 9, 2007 20:17:17 GMT 1, The problem with "facts" is that even they can be manipulated due to misconceptions. If matching numbers and "low" numbers get a "premium" on ebay it's because of these misconceptions and or sellers exploiting collectors misunderstandings or OCD conditions about the value of "numbers" so that they can reap extra profit. I only seem to see this obsession on these kinds of forums and in this scene and I feel like so called "dealers" have very much exploited this very common misconception to the point where the collectors in this scene โ who arguably did not have much seasoned experience and knowledge โ now think it's fact that the number of the print has anything to do with value. And it's inflating prices for everyone and adding to this little bubble. It further amazes me that this "scene" about street art, underground, anti-establishment work has become so obsessed about trivial things such as numbers of a print and become just as greedy as everyone over in the corporate art scene for which this one was born out of - except that this one was supposed to be the opposite of that. It is becoming its own enemy...
an articulate and intelligent post.raises some fair issues I think..

The FAILE Refunds Thread, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 30, 2007 0:21:22 GMT 1, Ordering the others you liked might not have made any difference anyway. I ordered my print about six hours after the initial release..when prints weren't flying off the site, and it said 1 in stock. I ordered it, then it said that print was sold out, got the confirmation email, blah blah...and then shortly ago received my refund email. Doesn't make sense. If their website can keep track of how many of each print are in stock, and if it counts them down, they how could they be over-selling? Confusing
the problem comes when say 4 or 5 people may have hit add to cart on a print like you describe above, showing one available. all these people have it in their cart and all pay for it despite there only being maybe one left.. in that case faile look at who was quickest, they get the print and faile end up dishing out refunds..
in summary.. fastest finger first
