Thank you Robert Indiana.

New CZK cityzenkane piece going up in Brighton. , by ab3 on May 12, 2018 18:47:28 GMT 1, Thanks for that. Will check it out soon. If you're there have a look at the amazing stencil piece just around the corner (opposite the entrance / exit of the royal mail building). And look at the detail in the girls hair. Apparently it was all cut out by hand. Amazing. I think your referring to the 2015 Snik piece there, a mirror image in blue and orange of a girl? Still looking pretty fresh to be fair and yeah all there pieces are hand cut from scratch! That's the one. There is another one on Gloucester Street. So impressive.

Keith Haring Artwork, VALUATION, by ab3 on Apr 24, 2018 8:23:47 GMT 1, On Friday I bought this really really cool Keith Haring - Tony Shafrazi poster: I paid 100 USD for it, without a second thought. Today I was searching on the internet and I couldn't find much info on the poster. I was wondering if there are any Haring-experts around? Did I pay too much? I'm not a Haring expert and never seen that poster before, but it's cool and if you're happy with $100 then I think you paid about right.

Banksy Soup Can, by ab3 on Apr 18, 2018 22:16:38 GMT 1, I've never really got the colour-ways. I personally think it looks best in the classic Tesco's colours. I do know that the American's apparently don't appreciate this as much as us Brits not having Tesco's over there. Good luck with the sale though llkoolj. Happily though the Americans have herd of a bloke called Warhol. 🙃 Very true.

Lot 0013 Girl with red balloon , by ab3 on Apr 12, 2018 9:26:18 GMT 1, It would save so much argument if the simple old industry standard always applied.......... ie. If the buyer is happy to pay whatever the seller wants - then everyone is happy !! (except for all the people who are nothing to do with the deal chipping in and jumping up and down in the background) But should auction fee's etc. be taken into account and added to the 'what's it worth' price?

Lot 0013 Girl with red balloon , by ab3 on Apr 12, 2018 8:23:47 GMT 1, Knocked down at $66,000 NZ. Currencies direct translated this to £34,957 but with the auctioneers 17.5% plus GST of 15% Import duty of 5% and flight logistics shipping and insurance circa £900 this would have cost a UK buyer around £44,500 give or take. As almost all of the interest via the internet and phone lines was from overseas it's a fair bet it's coming home but if someone local to the auction bought it they would save the duties and shipping fees of about £2600. So, no doubt the low ballers will be quoting the hammer price or even the sellers net figure which will be heart breaking, and anyone selling or renewing their insurance will be looking at the big number. Just thought I'd mention it to add to the Girl With Balloon recent debates. It's interesting that even with a recent sale price there is no definitive 'what's it worth' price.
I'm sure that if I quote £44,500 to my insurance company as the price that it cost someone to buy one of these, they would argue and only pay out £34,957.
I wonder if there is some industry standard to work out the actual price. Maybe take an average of both prices. In which case it's £39,728.50.

Art on TV, by ab3 on Mar 26, 2018 8:35:10 GMT 1, Last night I watched the South Bank show on Damien Hirst which was first shown in 2007 (i think) with further commentary from Melvin Bragg in 2017 and is available on Sky Arts catch up.
Oh and speaking of Sky Arts and Damien Hirst, check out the Passion's program on Catch Up with Harry Hill talking about his passion for Hirst. It's really well done.

For Sale Victor Vasarely screenprint, by ab3 on Mar 23, 2018 11:12:14 GMT 1, Love Vasarely. I insisted that I dragged all 11 (10 non art lovers) of us on my stag do to Budapest in 2005 around the Vasarely museum there. Had to get a bit of culture and art appreciation in amongst the clay pigeon shooting and copious amounts of drinking. Should have dragged them down south a bit to Pecs, where he was born. The Vasarely museum there is the "dogs danglies" for lovers of op art.
I've been there a few times now over the last 30 years and can thoroughly recommend a visit.
www.danubetourism.eu/vasarely-museum-pecs/
Would have loved too, but it was hard enough dragging them out of the bars in the first place.
Maybe next time i'm there.

Do you have them framed and on the wall or just stored somewhere.
I got a few years ago, but they have been stuck in a draw. Would be interested to know if others display thier's and if so, how.
