Work in Progress - LA - Roger Gastman, by kwatis on Dec 7, 2015 19:01:22 GMT 1, And for anyone not able to afford the high prices of originals and prints, he has a new book coming out soon from Gingko gingkopress.com/shop/pose/Thanks for the heads up. They're also available for pre-order on Amazon (with an expected release date of January 22). Free Prime shipping for the win, too. Yeah, wasn't sure what people's preferences were for ordering books or location, so I figured the publisher's site would be the best, that way everyone has the necessary info for purchasing from whoever, wherever.

The book comes with a 1 color screen print and is limited to 1500 copies. And I think some of the Dude edition will be released online.

SOLD, by kwatis on Sept 23, 2015 5:23:19 GMT 1, I had the same question as to how the fakes are different. I own two real ones that I got at the Santa's Ghetto in 2005 or 06. I bought another off of eBay recently where the seller claimed it was "real." When compared to my real ones it's obvious how they are different. The true banksy notes were printed using lithographic plates that allowed for extremely small printed areas that develop the full range of actual colors. This can be illustrated by looking at the various pics of the uncut sheets (worth considerably more) and seeing the registration marks for each color/plate. Any of the fakes are visibly lacking the sharpness. I don't know the seller of this item, but I appreciate the detail photos that are included that illustrate the sharpness I am speaking of.

NOW SOLD Os Gemeos - The Other Side - Exquisitely Framed $6900, by kwatis on Sept 22, 2015 1:35:16 GMT 1, Tru Vue Optium Museum Acrylic is the most expensive stuff out there and this is a decent sized piece of it. It's very much worth it though. There are 2 very good framers in Chicago that I work with and believe it or not the other framer was even higher with all the same materials. But thanks for your concern.
Gorkie, who do you deal with in Chi-town?

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by kwatis on Sept 19, 2015 0:09:41 GMT 1, There should have been an "and" between the two classification. I teach at Elgin Community College outside of Chicago, IL. The course is an art appreciation course specifically focused on the Dadaists and the influence they had/have on postmodern and contemporary art. Thanks for the digression. Sounds fascinating. We are privileged to have an art professor in our midst.
Thanks for the compliment coach; only included that to illustrate a reason for wanting multiples of the same thing without coming acrossed as a newb or flipper. I am sure that regardless of job titles we're all here to collect, sell/trade, discuss, discover and share.

Dismaland Programs and Mapsfor US art professor, by kwatis on Sept 18, 2015 23:28:36 GMT 1, I have contacted a couple members individually already, but thought I'd pose the question here as well. I am an art professor in the US and am currently in the middle of a course on postmodern contemporary art. I would very much like to share with my students the Dismaland event via programs and maps, as the paint a great picture as to the range of thoughts and techniques used in making the event/artwork. If you have any that you aren't interested in any longer please send me a PM with the number you have and what you are asking for. Ideally I am after 5 copies of each. I also have a sales/trade thread if you would be interested in swapping items. Thank you for your consideration. In case you didn't spot my earlier question here, I was interested in your college or university course. Could you clarify the title? I understand "postmodern art" and "contemporary art", but not "postmodern contemporary art" — including how the latter is being distinguished from the former two classifications. ------------ Regarding Dismaland maps, an alternative option is simply for you to print out five copies (or, better yet, one for each of your students) of the map on this web page: www.dismaland.co.uk/map/With respect to Dismaland programmes, as a last resort you could try eBay. It would of course mean incurring a premium. But presumably with invoices or receipts (from the relevant sellers, eBay or PayPal), these art-course-related costs would be reimbursed by your university or college. It may also be worth reaching out to the Dismaland organisers or PR people (who seem very open to educational institutions) with a request for five programmes. I suspect you'd need to offer proof that you are indeed a professor, including by making contact using an official and verifiable university or college email address. For this purpose, I'd advise taking great care when drafting your message. A source of confusion for me was your reference to you being "currently in the middle of a course" — which sounded a little odd given that it's now mid-September. If I may also add without causing undue offence, both the substance and style of your forum posts don't really come across as having been written by a professor in art. However, this is just a matter of perception on my part, which I appreciate could easily be incorrect.
Thanks for the suggestions; I will definitely pursue those options.
As stated elsewhere to your questions regarding the actual school, I teach at Elgin Community College outside of Chicago, IL. The course is an art appreciation course specifically focused on the Dadaist movement and the influence they had/have on postmodern and contemporary art. There should have been an "and" between the two classifications. Instead of saying I was "in the middle of the course" I should have been less vague and specificially stated that I was five weeks into a 16 week course. I am not offended by your critique on my posts and will only say that I appreciate times where I don't have to be a professor all the time.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by kwatis on Sept 18, 2015 18:06:21 GMT 1, Also I found this online while trying to locate programs/maps from Dismaland as well as various other items from the event.
strikemag.bigcartel.com/category/dismaland
I am sharing it here in the hopes that someone might purchase a couple of the Ad Space Hack Packs for me to send to the states as this site doesn't offer shipping to the US.
Note that these sets contain all three tools whereas many online and the bay include just two. I learned it the hard way purchasing one for the fleabay and it missing the special hexagon headed Allan key.
If you could PM me regarding your willingness to purchase 2 for me.
I would be willing to make Juxtapoz purchases and ship overseas, pay for the items and shipping and/or trade for items in the sale/trade thread that I created.

New Pose Print – SPIRAL, by kwatis on Sept 7, 2015 23:17:27 GMT 1, I think it was too soon for him to raise prices and up edition sizes at the same time.
Raised by a meager $25. Hardly think that would make a difference and deter people from pulling the trigger. Glad that at least this time they were clear about there Not being a hand embellished edition. For the third release via hellopose.com they are still figuring out what works and what doesn't.

Art for Babies bedroom., by kwatis on Sept 4, 2015 14:27:29 GMT 1, Congrats. Here is a site that I just purchased prints from for my good friends' first child: pwints.com They have it sorted not only by theme but by color too. These are what I purchased: pwints.com/collections/circus. Might go nice with your Ericailcane. There are also these Ericailcane prints available, though they come from Italy: studiocromie.org/products-page/prints/bar-italia-gazze-ladre/
Good luck with the search and the child rearing

New Pose Print – SPIRAL, by kwatis on Sept 2, 2015 18:47:14 GMT 1, 80$ shipping to Europe + Tax think am gonna pass it's still available by the way
I think the shipping is that much due to it shipping flat, which in the long run is worth it. Not only will it be less likely to get damaged but it's already flat.

New Pose Print – SPIRAL, by kwatis on Sept 2, 2015 18:10:27 GMT 1, I was offered a wood edition a few days ago Not liking the image on this one at all. Too cluttered. Don't even know what it is. I do see a girl somewhere in there lol. Too cluttered? I love my Burn print, but Spiral is way more open and less cluttered than that one. Again, all great images; different but excellent.
