Recommended Art Books, by Coach on Apr 22, 2021 17:44:04 GMT 1, @ekap ( won't tag all the post ) , but your book is awesome ! Expensive one I guess ! I don't know how easy they are to find these days but I got it from Other Criteria a few years ago 50% off, ยฃ75 - sadly not a signed one but I think they are more like ยฃ500.ย
I couldnโt resist one at that time either. A lot for a book, but a bargain considering itโs quality and heft.

: info re Sales board, by Coach on Apr 22, 2021 9:54:37 GMT 1, MORNING (GMT) NEWSFLASH. The 'Watch Collectors' advice thread is now deemed as 'Art For Sale'. All hail the nonsense-makers, for theirs is the forum that shall be known as 'that weird one where you couldn't find anything' Is NBF still running? Wonder if Coach understands now.
I have agreed with you and plurker all along that all the sales threads should be in the art for sale board. I took issue only with your assertion that the current format left only โjunkโ in the art for sale board. That seemed (to me) disrespectful to both the sellers posting there and the artists whose work is being sold. Thatโs all.

Unsolicited Banksy Offer, by Coach on Apr 22, 2021 9:50:57 GMT 1, Don't worry no serious consideration was given. I thought there may have been a 0.001% chance that it was an old member I'd spoken to previously who had rejoined but it's not the case. For full disclosure the user is offering an U/S Toxic Mary for $30k. I enjoy a good scam as much as the next guy so I emailed his 'friend' to find out more. They obviously hadn't discussed the plan as he offered me the print and shipping for less than 100 dollars. It's the deal of the century. Fill your boots
Itโs good of you to warn us that this is happening. Thank you.

Richard Colman, by Coach on Apr 21, 2021 23:18:09 GMT 1, Anyone buy his new print from Louis Buhl today? I loved his works that were at BTS - Los Angeles and ended up grabbing a copy of this print. I remember someone posting a beautiful original work on the Show Us Your Latest Art Buy thread in the last year, but he doesn't seem to get a lot of attention around here. Haven't bought any prints in a long time, but this one hit the mark for me. Richard Colman @ Louis Buhl

: info re Sales board, by Coach on Apr 21, 2021 22:41:38 GMT 1, I guess it depends whether you think only the artists that have dedicated boards create art that isnโt junk. Seems rather an odd view to me, but each to their own. I do think all art for sale should be in the art for sale board though. go look at the general for sale section right now. i think is safe to say that anything of quality you would expect to see on the no.1 urban art forum is well hidden.
Perhaps Iโm being a little slow here. Are you saying that the art for sale in that screenshot is junk? Born to Kiln, Perry, etc. As I say, I donโt disagree with you that all the art for sale should be in one board, if that is indeed your conclusion. But if Iโm understanding you correctly, I donโt agree with your reasoning - that everything left is junk.

: info re Sales board, by Coach on Apr 21, 2021 20:23:04 GMT 1, So what is the art for sale section for then? every artist who does not have their own thread? would that not mean that a heap of junk no ones interested in will end up in the for sale section?

: info re Sales board, by Coach on Apr 21, 2021 13:33:55 GMT 1, As masses (but not all?) sales threads seem to be being moved into various artist subboards, what do we think might be the master plan for this 'Art For Sale' area? If threads with 'art for sale' aren't allowed in the 'art for sale' section - what's the piont of it? Solely for threads with multiple artists listed in one post? Just for artists who don't merit their own sub-board? The navigation on this website has always been confusing af, and the recent changes introduced seem to be making it more so - eg top-level nav now has separate sections for Banksy Forum (which is just a subboard of the overall) and two for Bansky Prints / Posters (both of which are sub pages of the Banksy forum sub-board). It's like someone decided to tie knots in any sensible user journeys just to increase pageviews, as no-one can find anything! Does any moderator/admin look at this board, and can share the plan?
It is a shame was one canโt just browse the fir sale section to see everything thatโs for sale atm. I miss things as Iโm not here every day. Btw is the image you used Xenz?

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Coach on Apr 20, 2021 22:26:03 GMT 1, Some quality books there. I thoroughly enjoyed the Jonathan Safran Foer novel. Picked up a signed copy of his second novel. What I see is incongruity between the mathematical precision of Alex Colville's piece and the arrangement of those books. If I were a guest at shinji's home, I'd patiently wait for them to go to the loo, or the kitchen for more drinks. Then (at the risk of causing offence and never again being invited back) I'd exploit that moment to rearrange all the books according to author, height or colour. Here's a preliminary sketch for Pacific, which shows the importance that Colville placed on composition: Apparently, the gun was also his own โ his WWII service-issue revolver *.
You might find my bookshelves rather irritating, Iโm afraid.

Great present! You have been very generous. To yourself!

Dran - Theater Poster Good Juju Giveaway, by Coach on Apr 19, 2021 22:21:16 GMT 1, Good lord! How did this happen? People are going to cry foul, surely? Mr sgolby you had already cheered me up with the thread itself but youโve made my week with this news. Thank you so much. I donโt have this one, so am delighted to add it to the collection. Remind me what I need to do as donation for the shipping and Iโll sort it. Why would anyone cry foul? Did I miss something?
Only that Tiny is a huge Dran fan. Donโt worry. Anyone that knows him knows that Tiny is a gent. And an honest one at that.

Nice! I have a plain copy. Iโve said it here several times, itโs the best book on street art available.

Roby Dwi Antono ๐ฒ๐จ Print Release โข Show News โข For Sale, by Coach on Apr 17, 2021 10:09:40 GMT 1, This thread man Those not on the VIP list complaining about the Gallery stating that there wasn't a VIP list, when there clearly was. The Gallery defending having a VIP list, when it wasn't the list that people were complaining about but more the fact that they said there wasn't a VIP list....when there clearly was. Those on the flipper mates VIP list: Complaining about people complaining Ridiculous If this is the print: then the flipper, mate, VIP List - whatever it is - they are welcome to it. If you paid me I wouldn't put that on my wall - it's horrendous. Spot on ๐
Not my cup of tea either.

Do Banksy's prints feel dated now?, by Coach on Apr 17, 2021 10:08:50 GMT 1, I expect Banksy would look back at a few of the prints and maybe think they were a bit childish and could have been done better, compared to his more recent pieces.
Out of interest, which ones do you think are childish? And in what way childish? The simplicity of the image? Subject matter? Personally I tend to prefer his earlier prints. FC, HC, RC, BH etc are firm favourites for me. That said Iโve never completely understood the passion for GWRB. Each to their own.

I rarely see them mentioned these days. I donโt know if they are still painting together. I see that their Instagram account hasnโt had a post since September โ19. Fabulous artists.

Artists that Sell Out Instantly, by Coach on Apr 12, 2021 11:40:56 GMT 1, Everything released by Graffiti Prints this year have been quick sell outs, even from newer artists. Feels like the GP seal of approval almost guarantees sellouts, especially at the moment with people sitting on cash
Ive never bought from them, as their artists donโt fit with my taste in art. There are still plenty of people who buy for the love of art, not money, I think, and as such donโt give two hoots whether something theyโve bought sells out or not.

Artists that Sell Out Instantly, by Coach on Apr 12, 2021 11:36:54 GMT 1, I wonder if people are being more careful with their money, only buying from artists that sell out and are sure to at least hold their value, while a few years ago many were happier just buying what they liked and hoping it was a good decision in the long run. if that was the case this forum would be irrelevant. Of course your killing of one of the more popular threads, I Canโt Believe This Is Still Available, doesnโt help.
To be fair, that thread was an excellent read and a great resource to find hidden treasures, selflessly shared by others.

Lost & Forgotten Masterpieces (Non Banksy), by Coach on Apr 11, 2021 22:30:30 GMT 1, Not seen that before, thanks for sharing; great piece. Denning is so prolific and totally underrated in my view. Minotaur Woman is one of my favourite pieces of art; such defiance and power in the expression. I have the print (which is still available at Red Propeller I believe) and envy the owner of the original. He's a master of darkness but I especially love his occasional use of turquoise.
I agree with every word. I canโt begin to describe how happy I was when 8Mail has a joint show with him some time ago. Btw, so pleased to see you posting again. Hopefully we can meet up for a show sometime, as we used to in the 00โs.

Lost & Forgotten Masterpieces (Non Banksy), by Coach on Apr 11, 2021 22:26:47 GMT 1, There are many Banksy masterpieces we've seen over the years but what about great pieces by other artists that have gone under the radar or with the passage of time have been forgotten. I'll start with this: Guy Denning - Minotaur Boy - I still have this work and it is one of the best conte and chalk drawings I've seen and it's massive. 130cm x 90cm
Itโs magnificent, my friend. I used to have a steaming head original. It was a piece that I sold with a heavy heart when I unavoidably had to raise funds. Iโve reached out to the buyer to ask for first refusal should he ever decide to sell. It was a favourite. I recall that I used to tell the kids that it was called โthe man who stubbed his toeโ! Lovely bloke who deserves all the recognition he gets.
