SEX PISTOLS, by Coach on Apr 2, 2022 16:45:03 GMT 1, Drop L-13 a line. They maybe able to put you in touch with Reid. I'll ask in Probe when I'm next in there someone in there will know or will know someone that does know. Thanks, yeah, just chatting with Jamie's manager now. "that’s the first piece of Pistols artwork by Jamie, produced with the aid of the Aberdeen Free Press. Jamie was still in Scotland on his Lewis crofting period. I only know of two copies of that in existence".. the mystery is solved :-) cheers.
Astounding! What a great piece of music and art history right there! Groundbreaking band and artist. I’ll make do with my god save the queens!

Lost & Forgotten Masterpieces (Non Banksy), by Coach on Apr 2, 2022 11:25:07 GMT 1, I do appreciate that the image, without the LV symbols loses its poignancy. The whole raison d’etra of the work is lost. I do, however, think it’s a rather special print, as it’s part of the creation process of one of the most iconic images of the last couple of decades, so far as this scene is concerned.

Lost & Forgotten Masterpieces (Non Banksy), by Coach on Apr 2, 2022 11:09:07 GMT 1, haha .. its like a guessing game now! I think the LV child is everything that street art was 10 years ago .. says it all so loud & clear, but I kind of hope you might have had Mau Mau's barker in mind?
Hello. It’s the middle of the three LV child tests that I have.

Jake & Chapman 🇬🇧 Chapman Brothers • Whitecube • For Sale, by Coach on Mar 28, 2022 19:06:36 GMT 1, Sorry to read this. Poor packaging is so disappointing. I can’t fathom why it still happens. Us collectors know how upsetting it is to be excited to receive a piece of art only for it to arrive damaged. I wish those galleries (and I’m afraid, a few artists) that still take a less than thorough approach to packing would put in a little extra effort to avoid that disappointment. It's about the 4th or 5th print in a row I've received with some type of damage. Publishers are getting very lazy!
Shocking.

What Music are you listening to at the moment ?, by Coach on Mar 28, 2022 11:14:21 GMT 1, also this works ..? I used the 'insert video' button and pasted the address, and it also seems to work if you just put the address in the normal text area. Anyway .. Remember watching them play this on a lorry (I thought it was a stage, but I've been told different by those I was with) in Trafalgar Square on some huge CND rally
Great band. I think Wardance and Eighties are my two favourite songs by them. Both on a 10 inch mini lp I bought at the time. Think it’s called Ha or something like that. Fabulous lp.

I’m Pregnant! Advice please (art, obviously haha), by Coach on Mar 26, 2022 1:10:04 GMT 1, Oh my, what a beautiful thread. Children are such a blessing. Every moment you spend with a child is not as good as the next one will be. The love just grows and grows. Congratulations. As for art, find an artist that isn’t that well known who will paint all the walls of your nursery. It’s easily done. And it can easily have a Graf feel to it. Please let us know what you do.

How The Mighty Have Fallen, by Coach on Mar 17, 2022 23:56:46 GMT 1, I think two factors - the size is a massive issue for most - me included - what's a standard wall these days floor to ceiling is around 2.5m I think. I know a lot of his work is pretty dark but this is another level darkness and I imagine the market for it as a result is pretty niche. A while back someone on here was selling a Dale Grimshaw piece that was stunning but at the same time there is no way I could have hung it at home That Grimshaw was fantastic. Showed it to my wife and that was the end of that. Rookie mistake.
Years ago I had a very early Grimshaw, before his current style. Tittle was Salome. Adored it. Sold it by necessity. Miss it to this day. Fabulous artist and lovely chap. If anyone here has my Salome, please let me know.

Quality: Beyond the streets poster , by Coach on Mar 17, 2022 21:40:23 GMT 1, What are your asking price? Keep in mind maxge, I imagine almost everyone on this forum would vouch for coach. Although I’ve never personally bought or sold with him, I’d not hesitate to. I only mention this because you appear new to the forum, and of course I have no idea who your other potential deal is with. Good luck, I own this poster and it’s really a nice one.
You’re too kind, thank you.

Quality: Beyond the streets poster , by Coach on Mar 17, 2022 21:13:07 GMT 1, Thanks for all the response I meant the one from Banksy. What can you say about the Writing on the bottom left. Is it good to read based on the quality?
I’m not entirely sure what you mean. The very small writing bottom left should still be clear and very easy to read.

How The Mighty Have Fallen, by Coach on Mar 17, 2022 21:08:29 GMT 1, I have six Micallef canvases, three very large and three small, all purchased in 2005/2006. They've always taken pride of place on the walls of my home, I've enjoyed them daily for over 15 years and I couldn't care less if they'd only reach a quid if they were auctioned today.
Fabulous!

How The Mighty Have Fallen, by Coach on Mar 17, 2022 21:08:00 GMT 1, A very fine artist who was a significant part of this scene and the buzz around it in the mid to late 00’s. His work from that era still resounds for me as that of the best artist (well, him and Matt Small) discussed here. Dirty delux remains one of my favourite paintings from that time. Utterly superb. I find the tittle of this thread rather sad and unnecessary, with all due respect to the OP. Seems a little like revelry in someone’s diminished success, though I accept this may not be intentional. The man has been such a huge part of the scene that we have cherished, it’s sad to get the impression that he doesn’t garner the respect he once had. I am not that surprised this canvas did badly. It falls neither in the style I’ve been mentioning nor in his later impasto style. I had understood that those later paintings sell for decent sums, though I can’t recall where I read that, so I say it without confidence. All that having been said, I have seen a few older canvases sell for sums that I thought low. The upside is it gives collectors who love his work, of which I believe there are still many, the opportunity to own what previously they could not. I do hope the continues to command respect for his fine work.
