Os Gemeos - Milan - January 2010, by gozgoz on Jan 27, 2010 11:22:00 GMT 1, The prices are upwards of 38k Euros from what I know. See the third photo up from the bottom? The wood one of the man? thats 38. canvases probably 100 i reckon. I couldnt be bothered to ask!
But that being said, the canvases are over 2m big i think. Iwould have no idea how it would fit into my flat!
For those who just posted, see my previous description of the preview night at the first page of this thread! Im surprised no one has posted photos of the black and white one...

Os Gemeos - Milan - January 2010, by gozgoz on Jan 26, 2010 16:37:53 GMT 1, its funny but none of the pieces here are good representations of anything like what i saw there! the colours here so muted and boring.... especially the one of the tribal boy on a train. that was bouncing off the walls with colour in real life... she should really hire a better photographer!

Os Gemeos - Milan - January 2010, by gozgoz on Jan 25, 2010 21:54:33 GMT 1, Dang! So u weren't there at all?! There I was smiling at anyone and everyone I imagined a 'volvic' would look like. No wonder pple looked at me weird.
There were no vast huge installations this time round. Altho there is a small room with wood pieces on the wall and on one door/wall there was something which really caught my eye..... And probably the first non yellow / black and white painting I've seen of theirs - a really really poignant almost oil like painting of a vast vast angry ocean taking up half the wall... And a very very small palm sized osgemeos character climbing down (or up?) a ladder disappearing into the clouds looking down with anticipation and anxiety.... It was beautiful... I guess it really stood out because it was so different.
Its not a huge show like the one in sao paolo. Its a tiny show but very intimate and sweet.

BANKSY Film "Exit Through The Gift Shop", by gozgoz on Jan 25, 2010 20:23:47 GMT 1, Thanks fragile!
And to the other haters - yeah! U are right! Why isn't he out there saving the world from earthquakes, aids, swine flu, homelessness, malnutrition, lindsay lohan and lex luther!
dudes chill out. He's not Jesus. He doesn't owe anyone anything to do anything he doesn't want to do. Chill out. Hell! Even Jesus didn't go out of his way to save and heal every single person in the world. Why don't YOU ask: what are YOU doing for the haiti relief?
Thanks fragile!

Manty - sorry I failed u but I'm about 165m tall and they wouldn't let me on the train with a canvas that size and those bureaucratic italians won't let me train surf. Damn those italian train officials huh?

Os Gemeos - Milan - January 2010, by gozgoz on Jan 25, 2010 19:59:56 GMT 1, On way back to the airport now...I just went for it. I've no idea who any of the banksy forum members are and no one came up to say hi so I must either look terrifying or smell bad?
It was amazing. Simply amazing. I can't say they broke any new grounds but who cares, yellow people in fantastical dreamlike scenarios are what they do best and by god did they do it well... A lot of sequins were used this time as well on certain pieces. I didn't ask for the prices but I know a piece on a 1m tall wood went for 38k euros so I shudder to think what the 2m large canvases go for. They really must be seen in the flesh to be appreciated... One piece of this boy(?) standing on a little commuter train - not sure if anyone else thought this but it was almost three dimensional I had to go close to make sure that there was nothing sticking out. Insane....
The twins and their brother also came down later, I bumped into them as I was rushing to the train station and only managed to say a quik hi as I had a plane to catch...
There's a book inside of os gemeos printed by deutshce bank as well - gezus... They really are playing with the big boys now huh?
If anyone goes down, I recommend eating at the tratorria milanese at santa marta - best risotto e ossobucco ever!
No prints or anything affordable (well to me at least) for sale as far as I know?

Banksy at work..., by gozgoz on Jan 22, 2010 10:20:59 GMT 1, I wonder if he misses the days when he could just roll up somewhere and do what the f**k he wanted, without having to resort to teams of people, planned operations and scaffolded hoardings to conceal goings on.
Prob not as much as how much he loves the millions of pounds he is earning now.

Banksy Art - Sundance Park City Utah, by gozgoz on Jan 21, 2010 11:54:30 GMT 1, Everyone should be buzzing over this, but 4 pages show who is really interested. I could say a few things about this but my loyalty to certain people and my better judgement make me think otherwise. But 4 pages for an EVENT versus 40 odd for a f**kin print release says it all.
i wouldnt use the number of pages as an indication of fan appreciation of banksy to be honest. I love the dude and two years back i even went to Bethlehem to check him out but this board has been chopped up constantly and I didnt even see this thread til today.
Also, the title of the thread should say something like "NEW BANKSY IN UTAH!" or something.. i never clicked on this because i thought it was some boring movie about banksy made by some "jump on the bandwagon" people like that "Banksy is coming for dinner" movie last year?
