Any Triathletes out there :) ?, by singerstu on Aug 7, 2011 18:05:37 GMT 1, Mate of mine did MdS last year. Hated it but 'ticked the box'. He recovered fine... Did an Ironman within 5 months. Just back from watching the London in the p***ing rain. Jeez, Ali Brownlee is one he'll of an athlete!
Hubble without wishing to hijack your thread too much why did your mate hate the MdS. I personally am not too worried about the distance it's the heat and dehydration that bothers me

Banksy VLH Price Check, by singerstu on Mar 18, 2011 19:00:30 GMT 1, 'The auction also gives people a unique opportunity to buy an original Banksy painting, signed and donated by the artist himself, on the 'pants' theme. He says: "I think it's the duty of any civilised country to provide refugees with the basics of human survival. Just because I personally only change my pants once every six weeks doesn't mean every asylum seeker should have to do the same".....!'
Nice letter to accompany the piece

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by singerstu on Dec 15, 2010 23:23:17 GMT 1, In the UK i believe there is no capital gains tax on art and wine as long as you are not a business. [/quote]
The only time that you don’t pay tax on Art is if its a piece of national importance, deemed to be a chattel with a value of £6,000 or less, or the gain is below approx £10,000. Wine is exempt provided it has an expected useful life of less than 60 years

Your latest Art Purchase?, by singerstu on Apr 22, 2010 16:23:43 GMT 1, love the Os Gemeos, can you post up a better/clearer picture as its quite mesmerizing and i'd love to see a clear shot of it. I had recently gone off cellars but I would not mind being locked up in yours for a while! Any other gems to bring out?
The Os Gem is quite difficult to photograph because its so large and I still have a thick plastic sheet over it for protection. I will see what I can do.
Its quite dark in my cellar but there is quite a bit of stuff.
I found this as well. Would sell this to someone if they were interested but I wont list it on the sale thread for now.

Banksy • Wrong War • Pax Britannica , by singerstu on Nov 20, 2009 16:17:36 GMT 1, stu thats a lovely piece. Banksy that was meant for the street that its ok to own.
Its not a street piece it was handed out and carried at the Demo.
As such there is no problem with me owning it. Pest Control know I have it.
If you look at the creases and markings on the piece you will see that it is identical to the one in Wall and Piece. If you were to see it its immediately obvious that its real.
I have seen quite a few on ebay but IMHO none have ever been the real deal.
