HERRODS 2013 CLOSED, by Agent Provocateur on Dec 10, 2013 19:32:04 GMT 1, I remember that bit of cardboard creeping in from the left in the top photo johnny, wasn't that the 'Herrods 2012 customer of the year prize'?
Unfortunately we had bad news at Herrods this afternoon after the excitement of the 'Art Vending Machine' installation. This is how the highly anticipated bottles of Herrods beer were delivered by Royal Mail today, the musical sound of tinkling glass only slightly alleviated the depression that hit knowing there wouldn't be any to hand out at the opening.
Surprised, no, disappointed yes. Will I live yes, but dammit I was really looking forward to tasting some of Herrods own label beer!

HERRODS 2013 CLOSED, by Agent Provocateur on Dec 10, 2013 16:51:31 GMT 1, Cheers coach... we had a seminal moment at Herrods today, Carrie Reichardt delivered and installed her cutting edge 'Art Vending Machine'!
For ยฃ2 a pop this non-electronic wonder of the 80's will dispense a plastic sphere containing your very own work of art. I think they even have a COA inside (but don't quote me) for everyone worried about authenticity when putting it up for auction at Christies in a couple of years.
Wait there's more, with TWO different dispensers, one is suitable for children and the other NOT at all suitable for children. This must be the ultimate art based stocking filler to suite even the most financially challenged art collector.
Installation in progress...

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Agent Provocateur on Dec 10, 2013 0:08:50 GMT 1, Interesting mate... I wonder how much more detail and colour is under the grime. Any story where it came from? And remember the back often has more information than the front... any stickers, writing etc? ย it was found in a old Attic .. some numbers on the back .. ย
Not an uber amount of help that number, artists personal ref., catalogue, exhibition or auction number but need more to link it to anything at all!
TBH I'd just take a few high resolution photos of the front and back, plus some details (signature anywhere?), then email them to all the big auction houses. Christies blah blah, you can get the right emails off their websites, their knowledge will probably be able to tell just by looking at the style and quality (or not) of painting whether it's worth doing more research.
And yeah, title the email 'Holey painting... is it an old master?' .

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Agent Provocateur on Dec 9, 2013 23:59:20 GMT 1, Cheers AP.. High praise indeed coming from our resident stencil meister! really is a stunner .. And can't wait to see what he has planned next at his show in NYC.. Maybe I will get my air fare paid if I keep promoting him on here.. good to see all your hard work for your show .. Looks like will be a festive fest indeed!
Priest is a fair few pay grades above me mate, I love the technique he uses specially in that stencil. The relaxed edges of the stencil, simple colour and overspray all combine with the choice of what information to paint and what to leave out... making a great image imo.
I'll be keeping an eye out for his show in NY nxt year as well.
Ahhh Herrods, always more work than anticipated, am getting there and excited about the feedback... we shall see!

HERRODS 2013 CLOSED, by Agent Provocateur on Dec 9, 2013 12:50:15 GMT 1, The Herrods team were in the gallery at the weekend testing the innovative display system. As you can probably tell we're quite excited about teaming up with one of the preeminent exhibition spaces in London, their attention to detail when dressing the gallery is second to everyone. No expense has been made at all, as you can probably tell if you noticed the state-of-the-art sound system.

We're also relieved happy to inform you artists have started to drop of their work off so the hanging committee will finally be earning their money later in the week.

What to see/do in San Francisco?, by Agent Provocateur on Dec 6, 2013 19:54:40 GMT 1, In my humble opinion if you are going to San Francisco forget art and just enjoy what I think is one of the nicest cities in the world! Well jealous! Totally agree, top city, need to get back there soon.
I'll defer to nipper on the beer front, and agree about wandering along the piers, but beware of the bush man he caught me big style (don't google him, just see if you're caught, hilarious)! There's brew pubs and great seafood restaurants down there plus the view.
When I went I saved up all my rubbles and managed to book the cheapest helicopter flight over the city (never done one before and haven't since), luckily the only other people that booked that day wanted the most expensive. So I got roped into a full flight around the headland, back into the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the city opening up before me under a clear blue cloudless sky. Unf*ckingbelievable!
There's more tales on that flight but I won't bore everyone, suffice to say if you can afford one I'd highly recommend!

Bambi ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข Print Release โข Art For Sale, by Agent Provocateur on Dec 6, 2013 18:52:58 GMT 1, David Lynch should get hold of this thread, would make for a great script, forget 'Lost Highway' I'm recommending 'Lost it Highway'.
Or it might be the acid I just dropped... I see Bambi in the sky with cubic zirconia's.
On a positive note tho, johnny's reminded me I need to dig out my Only Fools and Deer's Horses box set.

HERRODS 2013 CLOSED, by Agent Provocateur on Dec 6, 2013 14:22:13 GMT 1, Alrighty, less than a week before the opening, pieces are starting to arrive with the majority landing at APHQ at the start of next week. I'll try and post another preview of work before Wednesday... but if you've had your eyes peeled on the instafacetwit thing some of the artists have already posted work.
Had a quick chat with the brewery this morning and there's already a VERY small box of delectable limited edition Herrods beer hurtling up from the Pyrenees. It looks like these are going to be rarer than something rare on national rare day! Unfortunately it's touch and go for their arrival by the end of next week, but knowing the Post Office they'll be pulling out all the stops.
The flyers have just arrived, with craftily placed styrofoam pieces on the location... just so I can milk this pre-opening pr to within an inch of it's life. Apologies if you've already hit the ignore button, but dammit I'm having fun, and who's knows it might all be worth it!

NELSON MANDELA RIP, by Agent Provocateur on Dec 5, 2013 23:38:44 GMT 1, A sad day, an inevitable day... but what an amazing legacy to the world he leaves.
We will never forget him, but more importantly what he stood for will live on for many generations, serving as a lesson to everyone that certain human principles are sacrosanct.
A privilege to have lived in his time.

Shok-1 ๐ฌ๐ง Aerosol X-ray Art โข New Print Release , by Agent Provocateur on Dec 5, 2013 22:31:34 GMT 1, Think ur correct Vera... I hadn't even engaged with whether the xray bones were accurate, but someone pointed out at the show that there's lots of discrepancies.
An extra finger on one hand should hav been a giveaway! But that cud hav been to get the requisite number of fingers per colours in the rainbow.
All I can say is I love the work, the freshness of the primary rainbow colours and the crispness of the representation of the xray style does it for me. Painting some of the walls black was a good idea as (I dislike this phrase but..) the work burst from the walls.
I'm a real political animal when it comes to my expensive wallpaper, but I'd love one of these just for the pure retina caressing!
Am on the bus so I blame the driver for any horrendous spelling mistakes... and POWs beer that thank Chris didn't hav any fruit flavourings.

SHANE TURNER PSYCHAMELEON 4.0 HAND PAINTED 1/1 RELEASE , by Agent Provocateur on Dec 4, 2013 22:53:18 GMT 1, The patriotic version is a little funny. At first, I thought it was meant to be American. Then I saw the price in pounds and figured it was British. So I looked him up and saw he's in Canada. So now I'm not sure which he had in mind. Would even work for France. It's all three French, British and USA he added the silver to lift it, looks stunning in the flesh
Urm, pardon me sir, but how can that be patriotic if it's all three countries!? Unless the patriotism is to wealth and it's the silver that's the key?
Only joshing with you
