Dran • Exhibit Monkey, by idris on Dec 15, 2010 19:17:15 GMT 1, Well POW just dropped 23. Previous to that I saw 7 pop up and missed out each time. Finally bagged one; didn't get a Banksy but i'm happy with this.
For those still hoping ... keep on f5ing ... my guess is POW will continue to drip feed 'em.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by idris on Dec 11, 2010 2:29:24 GMT 1, Takes me back to LTS Nick Walker and how well BRP organised the que handing tickets out nd the majority got on like a house on fire. Find it hard to understand why POW haven't any security or handing out tickets - seems a bizarre case of 'let em sort it out amongst themselves'. For those c**t pushing in - here's a big fuck you! to those who miss out to the c**t who pushed in, I feel your pain.
Stay safe folks nd good luck. Try and enjoy the experience coz for some the memory of the overnight queuing is gonna last longer than the print and the money they make off it.
Night : )

Giacometti for £65m, by idris on Feb 4, 2010 11:28:18 GMT 1, Good to see the auctioneer saying 'i'm going to sell' presumably looking at the person taking the phone bid 'well, are you in or not?' the bid at that moment stood at a cool £58million :-)

Giacometti for £65m, by idris on Feb 3, 2010 21:58:31 GMT 1, Tonight at Sotheby’s, Alberto Giacometti’s L’homme qui marche I sold for £65,001,250 / $104,327,006 becoming the most expensive art work ever sold at auction.
The expectant saleroom fell quiet as bidding opened at £12 million. Some eight minutes later, after a fast and furious bidding battle between at least ten prospective purchasers, this spectacular piece – the only life-time cast of this iconic subject ever to have come to auction – sold to an anonymous telephone bidder, establishing a new record price not only for the artist, and for any piece of sculpture ever sold at auction but also, and more importantly, taking its place in history as the most expensive work of art ever sold at auction.
Formerly part of the corporate collection of Dresdner Bank AG, the sculpture came into the possession of Commerzbank AG after the latter’s takeover of Dresdner Bank in 2009. Commerzbank intends to use the sale proceeds to strengthen the resources of its new Foundation Centre, and also to provide funds to partner museums for restoration work and educational programmes.

FS Lucy Mclauchlan , by idris on Dec 18, 2009 7:48:13 GMT 1, Like many, I overspent on the old cc this Dec on art & I need to free up some funds for New Years CC bill so i'm offering up for sale POW's latest release on Lucy Mclauchlan.
Prints are Twisted and Hidden Inside, A Darkness Resides & A Benign Sunshine.
I'm not looking to make any money on these; I will consider selling the prints individually but would prefer to sell as a set. I will listen to all offers.
Pics on POW website - references available of previous forum sales.

New Lucy McLauchlans up on POW NOW, by idris on Dec 14, 2009 13:31:39 GMT 1, Definitely not her best work but I reckon they'll look good when up on the wall together. They better, as I've just spent the best part of 2 hours trying to get them through POW's completely useless online payment collection site. I had all 3 in the basket to start with and that wouldn't process so tried putting just 2 through which eventually worked. Then tried using the same card to pay for the 3rd print which was declined for some unfathomable reason! 3 more attempts later and various cards and it finally goes through! A complete pain in the backside when you have to wait 20 minutes each time for baskets to refresh so a print becomes available again. Don't think I can remember ever getting their system to work 1st time - please sort it out POW!!! I 'ad the same problem Not had any experiences like this since before Trolleys which was over 2 years ago now and it worked fine on that occasion for me, as it when I've tried on the odd occasion since. Are other people having problems checking stuff out of POW these days?

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by idris on Dec 11, 2009 15:00:42 GMT 1, Must admit - though there's no way I can possibly get to London in good time to bag a print the thought of freezing my tits off overnight does have its appeal :-) I hope POW have some sorta order in place to stop queue jumpers etc & provide hot cups of cuppa soup

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by idris on Dec 11, 2009 14:55:45 GMT 1, lol - its gonna be madness over there- for those in the queue overnight - I hope yr still alive in the morning to bag the print. The Nick Walker; Life's Too Short was bad enough but I guess even with the freezing temps I suspect a good all-round atmosphere.
be lucky & be good :-)

Banksy - No Ball Games (GREEN), by idris on Dec 8, 2009 8:55:23 GMT 1, Two questons; why can't I find anything on the POW site re Banksy Registration - only info to go by is the link contained on this thread (1st post) & also, POW normally send an email to registered users with a heads up of what's happening; again, there was no email re the Banksy Registration.
Any ideas anyone?
