Biggest Progress in 2008?, by smallbylo on Dec 12, 2008 19:18:54 GMT 1, For me, Banksy made the biggest evol with petstore (Remember when we were frightened about the end of prints?) but as this man is always one step above and he don’t need my votes… I vote for Elbow Toe (Brian Adam Douglas now…) for his new and stunning style and JR for his new use of scale and location...
Great developing too but less progress… Faile, Blu, Parlá, C215, Mark Jenkins … Great progress cause new names (almost for me) Judith Supine, Vhils, Btoy.
Big progress of 2009? Matt small?
Lists, what a great sport!

From the futuristic fantasy world of Nicholas Di Genova, this beautiful silkscreen print is made in six colors on thick cotton paper and measures 50 x 70 cm.
The print is made in an edition of only 100 prints, all signed and numbered by the artist.
Our most detailed and colorful print yet, and it looks absolutely stunning!
Nicholas di Genova:
Drawing on the influence of street art, anime, comic books, and animal compendiums, the work of Nicholas Di Genova features an encyclopedic range of constructed creatures ranging from soft and nurturing to calculating and military. A vast and intense fabricated history acts as a backdrop to the hundreds of interconnected species, families and rival clans that find themselves projecting their habits, relations and environments.
Di Genovas paintings on mylar highlight his skill with line and his ability to manipulate colour. Always intense and intricately executed, Di Genovas work rivals the quality of any fine art painter while firmly establishing itself on the fringes of contemporary art.

Eine • Exciting Print & Canvas, by smallbylo on Dec 4, 2008 16:57:59 GMT 1, It says sold out again... And Scary (a beauty iconic image!)is alive yet at Urban Angel for 95 in an edition of 200. Sometimes I thought about what image would I put in the cover of a street art history book and Scary (street piece) usually wins! (Exciting is on the top too...)

You can find prints too in Iguapop.net and Rasbcn.com but they don't sell online and you have to contact them...
These are the ones I know, hope it helps.

You're going to single handedly make his prices crash with all these pics, jose parla rugs, ceramic bowls, t-shirts, handbags and a jacket that looks liked it was designed for the Wanderers at a wedding! Stop right there please OK, show me the shoes, I gotta see the shoes now!!!
I am a great reader of the expertise and thoughtful comments from all of you but I’m not that great in contributing to the forum with insightful comments as I am a newby and I don’t feel enough confortable with English . What I really know is that I like Parla (And a lot more!) and that a I am good in googleing. Let me contribute with these kind of info to the global knowledge of this great artist.
GRAND WORLD TOUR The beautiful artistic initiative where José Parlá seems to put a lot of his energy and where he takes a lot of inspiration for his multicultural memorywalls pieces. (One of the reasons why I feel him in the highest division in art right now, his global vision) Is documented by his brother and artist Rey Parla in www.reyparla.com (a lot of info about his brothers exhibits) and the project Elsewhere communities www.elsewherecommunities.blogspot.com/
“The New Grand Tour is an episodic art project featuring revolving guest artists with hyphenated cultural and geographical backgrounds. The artists and documentary crew travel together to different parts of the globe and express through art exhibitions the subject matter of the towns and cultures they visit.”

A photo (?) of the piece he did seems that is available through the site but I really don’t understand what they are offering. The original piece was 4000$ www.photoreflect.com/pr3/thumbpage.aspx?e=3749309
MUSIC (great music! Latin soul funk boogie ) José Parlá belongs to a group called Bronx River Parkway. You can listen him talking about politics on the song “la valla” and about doing a big fiesta party in costa rica in “san Sebastian 152” (and that it is a big inspiration for his paintings). Their first full length record “San Sebastian 152” is going to be in the stores soon. (Rostarr artwork)
Rostarr signs the artwork of some of the records in truth&soul. Rostarr is one of the members from the grand world Tour and is in an exhibit right now in London leonardstreetgallery.co.uk/ (have you seen it? There are any prints available?)
POSTERS. I’ve found two edited posters. Perhaps the people in the uk know them or can buy them from eframes.co.uk. They appear in a lot of sites but it seems they are not available anywhere What do you think of these posters? For my they are showing the evolution from ease to José Parlá work. But in a bad.phooshoped way … (I can’t find bigger pics anywhere so I don’t really see how they really are ) I don’t know if the artist have approved any of them… If anyone knows something… Here there are:
