Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel โ

, by searchandrescue on Sept 27, 2017 18:14:28 GMT 1, Now seriously WTF!!! Before anyone say's it yes I know that they are only T-Shirts but I just paid ยฃ46.98 for two T-Shirts that I could get down the market for a fiver each. Firstly the labels, and yes I do think it is important, they are advertised on the W.O.H shop with W.O.H labels not whatever sh#te these are, not that I buy branded items but if I did buy a branded item I would want to see the brand labels inside to know that I am buying the genuine article which denotes quality and not some knock off rubbish such as these. These are not even the same T-Shirts that are advertised on the website, the quality of the ones I have received are terrible. Secondly just screwed up in a plastic bag is not the way to pack items, irrelevant of their value!!! as you can see by the creasing on the images below. Unfortunately I have not and will not be able to get to the W.O.H due to my health so for me these were a little treat and something to have has a little memento of the hotel's existence. These have been shipped out from P.O.W in London, if your on here or read these posts this is not the way to deal with customers. I now have two new dusters!!! Thanks couldnt agree more im shocked that my mugs survived the trip even ... but ya .. printed on $1.50 blanks shipping to the US at $26USD was tough to swallow when they were just thrown in a plastic sack ...anyone got a moron's for sale?? Just askin'

Why are galleries and artists so terrible at packing prints?, by searchandrescue on Aug 9, 2017 8:48:28 GMT 1, As a rule I'd imagine galleries and artists care, I think it's more some of the freight handlers that don't. Had some bad experiences with USPS and Parcelfarce, not my choice of shippers but had no option but to accept...not such good times!

US delivery only!, by searchandrescue on Jun 8, 2017 2:00:25 GMT 1, Seems a bit strange the seller of a valuable artwork wouldn't ship it internationally with proper packaging and insurance...or is this a common thing? It could easily cost $80-$100 to ship to the U.K. With tracking and insurance, I've had people in the past not ship to the Us for the same reason. Seems a little silly when a buyer is spending hundreds (or more) of dollars on art and is happy to pay, but some people prefer not to have to deal with customs forms and the hassle.
customs from NY to London just cost 200USD (around 150.00GBP) for a 19x19x12 inch box weighing aprox 12kg, postage was around the sameโฆ.making shipping to the good ole USA a pretty frightening prospect for most!

New Banksy - UK Election Souvenir Special, by searchandrescue on Jun 8, 2017 1:55:05 GMT 1, People spend a lot of money trying to convince voters that they should vote a certain way or come up with platforms and entire parties that may result in economic gain for a particular type of voter (tax rates are a very direct example, as is "free" healthcare you mention). However there is still a fairly clear line that can be drawn based on policies that may favor a certain group economically, money spent to convince people to vote a certain way and flat out inducing people to vote through "gifts" or other direct monetary inducements. To illustrate the difference, think about what would be more effective. The free print offer or Banksy making an equivalent monetary contribution to his chosen candidates campaign fund.
I totally see the difference. I'm an attorney and will 100% concede that this is strait up illegal, even in the good ol' US of A. But my point is that 1) the illegality is kinda the whole point of Banksys artwork so why back down to threats by the government?, 2) even though it is technically illegal it has the same practical outcome as a millionaire spending 500k on merchandise and ads for his candidate, and 3) it wont "invalidate" anything, there is no way in hell a government would recall an election result after all the BS that went down with the US/France, its simply a different age were living in.
In the end, who the hell cares? I would be stoked if every single major artist did the same thing in the US. Conservatives have the entire resources of the elite and Russia doing every shady trick in the book to swing elections. What do us liberals have? NPR? If we want to take back our countries from this upsurge in right wing madness, we need to wake the hell up and start playing dirty. Its not ideal. Its not nice. But it is better then having Trump as a president. Banksy, if your reading this, stand up and show the world that if the politicians are going to just allow Russia to shape our western democracies, liberals arnt gonna take ii laying down!
"Better call Saul!

New Banksy - UK Election Souvenir Special, by searchandrescue on Jun 7, 2017 20:02:58 GMT 1, This is developed into a bitter, bitter thread and quite depresses me. I do so loathe election times and the spite, bile and vitriol that seems to flow towards those with views different to those that shout loudest. I've lived through three day weeks, wildcat strikes and unions holding the country to ransom under labour, entire communities torn apart by Thatcher, continued neglect of the NHS and our education system by both main parties, Tory and Labour governments taking us into dubious wars and, if there's one thing I'm sure of, hating and mocking those that disagree with us will get us nowhere. We are all different. In different circumstances. We should respect those that don't think like us and celebrate that this democracy produces swings and roundabouts of government. Sometimes, I feel so much negativity on here it grieves me. +1 hubble, you are a top bloke. Stay safe buddy, and everyone else. We should all be looking out for each other.

Cost him nothing, got loads of PR. +1 thomasmer, last time I looked ad page rates for newspapers, ran into 10's of thousands, appearing in just 3 or four news papers with circulation / readership in the millions is very expensive. Add to the fact it was editorial not ads / advertorial well done to his PR. Half a million quids worth of publicity for your PR's fee? Who says old media's dead??
