Holy Grail?...Elms/Neate, by senna on Aug 2, 2007 23:31:44 GMT 1, Oh my God! personally i can't even begin to describe what I saw this evening.
I was completely blown away by the WHOLE show (pottery by anyone is not my thing).
great to be able to see the prints & the originals they came from hung in the same place.
things being the way they are, it was impossible to chose properly, which print you wanted,of the 3 you were permitted to purchase...but they are ALL the dogs bongaloidez!!!
red T-shirts & badges were given out to all & Adam was signing them for whoever shoved one in front of him
was kinda impossible to take good pics as the que ran along the wall they (the prints) were hung on
going back tomorrow to collect & take some pictures without the que had a little chat with the man himself (the calmest/most mellow man you have ever met) & tonight was the 1st time HE had seen the show hung...& it blew him away!
something i thought was interesting...he works on each piece totally separately IE starts & finishes a piece totally before starting on another (know what i mean?).
very much doubt there will be anything left, but you won't know for sure unless you ask yourself
totally recommend going even if you can't buy anything.

Banksy โข Andipa Gallery, by senna on Apr 20, 2007 14:24:28 GMT 1, Senna - funnily enough, I was almost tempted to start a separate thread posing that very same question. The fact that they're not sprayed by Banksy doesn't actually bother me. Providing of course that they're well executed and sprayed in places where they have some relevance. Regardless of who sprayed them, they are and will remain Banksy images. Reading Banksy's comments about his rats - I feel that other people spraying them actually fits in with the ethos of those particular images. I really wouldn't be surprised to hear that he likes seeing his little vermin spread without control. Not that I think he necessarily encourages it, like say Space Invader does for example. However, a Banksy rat stencil was given away with Bizarre magazine some years back, presumably with Mr B's approval. That's not to say that it doesn't annoy me that people will go out stenciling and risk arrest, but can't even be bothered to come up with their own images. These individuals certainly can't be considered street artists. I also wouldn't approve of a gallery, like Andipa, spraying a fake in an effort to generate publicity, though as I stated before I don't believe they're responsible for it. Though whoever did has done them a favour!
thats what i don't agree with: any idiot cant hold a stencil in one hand & a spray can in the other.
like in this case, we are generally agreed that this was not Banksy because of all the reasons mentioned; application, image blah blah.
i would hate to see Banksy's appearing all over the place in stupid, non relevant places.
if someone was arrested, imagine the story
wonder what Laz thinks about all this

Banksy โข Andipa Gallery, by senna on Apr 20, 2007 12:46:02 GMT 1, as said previously,i really dont believe a place like Andipa would pull such a cheap stunt. If it was them, it would be plastered all over the papers already.
i also think its a forum member.
as Curly said, SALE ENDS/MORONS would have been a much better choice.
let's all just say, FOR ARGUMENTS SAKE:it was not the gallery. It wasn't Banksy & it wasn't me(promise).
what do people think about someone tagging places with mr.B's images?
i don't think i like the idea

Banksy โข Andipa Gallery, by senna on Apr 19, 2007 23:37:06 GMT 1, only asked as you were on both sides of the fence
no need to take a point away
like i said, he didn't try & make out it was real & i said i doubted it for several reasons:
placement application image chosen
if it wasnt the gallery (abit of a cheap/unimaginative stunt for a Top gallery thats been around for atleast a couple of hundred years) why would someone do that?
hope we don't start seeing loads of fake Banksy's everywhere.

What Banksy Pieces do you have ??, by senna on Jan 16, 2007 19:50:29 GMT 1, I'm curious... I love Banksy as much as the rest of you, we keep having people post in the "Get your Banksy's out" thread, some amazing prints / canvasses that I assumed were only to be found locked in the basement of Sotherby's / Lazinc or indeed Banksy's house.... So what I want to know is what we each actually have from the main man Mr Banksy. Don't be shy if it's still in a tube or under your bed... not everyone bothers to frame. I think it will be interesting to see how much of his stuff this forum holds! Anyway me first: Grannies (Signed) Love is in the Air Weston Super Mare Flying Copper Jack & Jill Toxic Mary CND Applause There are million I still want... but hey... I have the patience! Whatcha'got !? too many to list
come on dont be such a pussy ;D i'm sure you have some great pieces

The Most Underrated Banksy Print?, by senna on Jan 5, 2007 19:44:31 GMT 1, Oh... and to actually answer the question (I know most will say I'm crazy) I think the most underrated print is 'I Fought The Law' I think it is a great image, is a big print, and still sells for cheap. No question others are underrated, but personally I think IFTL is the most.
totally agree mate. great composition. love the orange & black.
...guess what my fav is ;D
