Advice on framing or otherwise of canvas, by harrykovert on Nov 8, 2012 21:22:45 GMT 1, Evening all,
I'm fairly new to the board so apologies in advance if the question I am asking is either daft or has featured previously......
I will be receiving a fairly large original canvas shortly and am in need of suggestions in terms of framing it or other mediums that will both protect and enhance.
Examples of your own pieces greatly appreciated too.
Thanks,
Harvey

Advice on framing or otherwise of canvas, by smishdown on Nov 8, 2012 22:09:54 GMT 1, Hi Harvey, probs best to speak to mr frameman for suggestions that will make the piece stand out the best, but failing that its down to personal preference. Here's mine which I recieved a couple of weeks back and his ideas really make the piece pop. Plus having museum glass makes all the difference.
Would love to see everyone else's framed canvas' though

Hello Harvey, Welcome.
Here's a few ideas.
You could go framed with glass
Or a tray frame
Or just go naked

No problem with nosey and appreciate the ideas.
Sickboy's "Inside my head part II" is on it's way.....would like to hang it naked but would also like to protect it from light / dust damage.

Advice on framing or otherwise of canvas, by Gard on Nov 10, 2012 1:47:22 GMT 1, In my opinion it comes to size and price. If you have a really expensive pice, that you are really afraid of, glass in front is niece to protect it. But I never use glass in front.
I like a floating frame around. It brings the picture to the front and it's beautiful in my opinion.

Morning Gard.
Do you have any examples to demonstrate this. Complete noob here who loves his art but is still learning terms and methods!
