Black Rat Press • Black Rat Projects, by corblimeylimey on Jul 12, 2007 11:03:03 GMT 1, I like, I've bought one certainly a much better image IMO than the previous two.
I can see BRP have reduced the edition size from 150 to 25, probably because the other two have only sold around 25 in the last few months.

Black Rat Press • Black Rat Projects, by rob123rob on Jul 6, 2007 20:15:58 GMT 1, Just got my first BRP print in the mail today, Blek le Rat's Homeless in Paris. I was originally thinking of swapping this print for something else (before I got it), but now that i've seen, it's amazing. Everyone is right when they say BRP has the best print quality. And the packaging, the tube, make POW look pretty sad. Top job over at BRP. Nice work.

Black Rat Press • Black Rat Projects, by baracass on Aug 28, 2007 16:16:58 GMT 1, Received today:
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by cider…
Hello again. We’re back. With renewed vim. And brio. And possibly elan. We’re not sure. Elan might be going a bit far. But either way, we’re back. Rugged and weathered-looking from single-handedly saving the country from flooding. Yes, okay, there were still floods, lands were swamped, cars submerged, houses ruined, lives destroyed. But we saved you from other floods—the epic, biblical, Day After Tomorrow floods. Or at least Sarah did. The new member of our team. Mostly we sat around reading the Wooster Collective and asking Sarah if she wouldn’t mind nipping out and saving the world. It was Sarah who took the brunt of Hurricane Dean on the Yucatan penninsula. We thought that showed promise and tenacity. So we’re giving her originals. Let’s hope she doesn’t fuck it up like she did with Tewksbury.
And on top of Sarah we have Armsrock and Blek. Not literally of course, that would be wrong. What we mean is in addition to Sarah’s arrival we have two stunning new prints by Armsrock and Blek. (We probably should have phrased it like that in the first place come to think of it, but it’s too late now..)
Introducing Armsrock.
For those of you who don’t know him Armsrock is a huge new talent from Bremen in Germany (which may or may not be an enclave of Brooklyn). We first became aware of his work at the Wooster on Spring Street show and were blown away. Mainly because his work was astonishing, but also because it was quite gusty that day and we were wearing quite loose apparel. But anyway, we went home and searched obsessively for him. Again, that was probably a mistake given that our home is London and his is Bremen. But still all we found were tons of amazing images on flickr, but no contact details anywhere. So we did the only sensible thing we could do in that situation: we gave up hope, got drunk, grew beards, slept rough and married Amy Winehouse.
But then, one cold, bright, wet morning in the middle of June we met up with Swoon and cried on her shoulder. She told us to pull ourselves together, go home, sober up and divorce Amy Winehouse. But maybe keep the beards. She said that Armsrock was one of her favourite street artists, that she’d been out on the streets working with him in various places around the world and had just written the intro for a new book being published by the Wooster Collective and would put us in touch with him. Providing we kept the beards.
Ten days later, looking like Kris Kristophherson, we collected Armsrock from the airport and, in true Black Rat stylee, drove him straight to the studio and told him to forget about food and sleep until he’d made something great.
Luckily for him that’s exactly what happened. And as he got to work, everyone in the studio—including the printers who have worked with a lot of huge artists over a number of decades—stopped what they were doing to watch, amazed at what a natural talent he was. And probably still is. It was only a few weeks ago. Just a couple of hours in he had made a superb drawing which by late afternoon we’d managed to produce a couple of proofs of. Then we ummed and arred about which version was the best version. But our umming and also our arring proved futile. No one could choose between them. So instead of doing one larger edition we decided to do both in two smaller editions—which look, even if we do say so ourselves, and we do, pretty fucking great. If you don’t know his work check him out on flickr.com. Each street work is a completely unique life-sized drawing.
And The Man Who Needs No Introduction... except possibly for people who don’t know who he is, Blek Le Rat
The new Blek print is probably the image that people have asked for the most times, and we’ve finally made it: David With Kalashnikoff. (Btw., maybe you’d have got it sooner if you’d tried to bribe us. Never think we’re above bribes.)
From Now On…
Black Rat will sell original works by artists we work with and, perhaps, occasionally, artists we don’t work directly with but just really like. All enquiries for originals should be made to the newest member of the team sarah@blackratpress.co.uk *Please allow for minor delays if the country is flooding.
Logan Hicks
Has done an edition of orginals exclusive to Black Rat. These will go on sale from the moment we return. Please keep reading the newsletter to find out exactly when it is we will return; it has to be in here somewhere…
Ah, Here It Is. We Will Return On…
September 5th. What will happen is this: we will return with our new, updated website. It will be a robust thing of beauty. The IT guys will stand around marvelling at their creation and the fact that no amount of traffic can crash it. So we will release the new prints, secure in the knowledge that nothing can possibly go wrong now. And then the site will crash. Same as every other time.
Not Only But Also…
We have a number of shows/happenings/exhibitions planned over the coming months, plus our very own gallery-slash-drop-in centre for the great and the good, and also people who aren’t that great, or good, but just really like street art.
More details will follow these details shortly….
Goodbye.

There's never been any profit in Blek La Rats on the bay for the baggers, so even if we miss it, there's a good chance of getting one from a misguided bagger off ebay for cost or even less ;D
