I was in Lyme Regis today - it's such a pleasure to see the Crane piece virtually untouched, not behind Perspex and weathering nicely as intended. Must have seen the piece on a dozen separate occasions - it's always a pleasure

street art is supposed to be on the streets and stay there, ruined by the weather or a 13 year old kid with a spray can doesn't matter, that's just part of the game.
the real shame is when it's stolen/cut out from a wall and sold for a profit.

Course, the value of some non-Banksy pieces may rise, as people try to figure out who did what, but it might be fun?
Plus also then, the work would rise or fall on it's own merit, and not just because it's on the Banksy website and some dick in Miami has an auction he'd like to play with.

Graffiti artists of London, give your art to Haringey. Run! Run free! And the council will love you for it.

As much as I would love it hanging in my own home, I really disagree with ripping street art off walls to then be sold in auctions. It was done on the street and it should stay on the street. Real shame.
