I'm struggling with choosing a nice present for my good lady as she reaches the big 40 on new years eve and wondered if anyone here has had the same misfortune of having to splash out for such an epic birthday. At the moment I'd like to get her a watch (Rolex date just) but my sister says go for earrings or a bracelet.
It's starting to do my head in and the shops are getting busier with Xmas shoppers so I'd really like to get it sorted.

Watch sounds pukka, but earings n' bracelet is prob. more what she'd go for? What about an experience like trip to paris, country mansion etc? Something like that can create a nice memory. I have been thinking about going to Venice for a few days, as we haven't been there before.
