Is it possible to repair a frame ?, by tezpellet on Dec 1, 2012 16:49:42 GMT 1, hi all,
just been fixing a door at the office and it fell onto the top of my newly framed ian francis !!!!
it basically knocked into the frame so there are 2 x dents on the top of that frame
i suppose luckily its only the top part of the frame and is this something that can be easily swapped out ??
the framing was done by john jones so its the real deal in terms of framing,
any advice more than welcome before i speak to mr jones !!!
cheers
Tez

Is it possible to repair a frame ?, by iamzero on Dec 1, 2012 16:55:10 GMT 1, V nails are a pig to remove and possibly glued too so without breaking the entire frame and reducing its size I don't think so but maybe someone with more experience than me would have other ideas. Good luck though dude.

Is it possible to repair a frame ?, by kultur on Dec 1, 2012 19:57:52 GMT 1, You can't just swap out wood rails. If they are metal you can.
Old framers trick... couple sheets of wet paper towels laid on the dent and then use a steam iron on it. Depending on how hard the wood is you might have to do it many times. Marker or paint to fix the color.
