2 outside banksys in 1 week?, by artpartment on Oct 16, 2007 20:54:14 GMT 1, this week went 2 rat stencils auctions at ebay .
i am just wondering why people would sell an original outside banksy for such a low price
.the first went away for around 500 euros and the new one at the moment is still around 100 euros.
i personaly think its gonna be sold betwenn 800-2000 euro.
why would someone sell it so cheap.?
i got one some years ago from the austrian electricity company and i also would not sell it for 15000 euros even when i need that money what at the moment is.i think that something is wrong with all this auctions .i think not even the most stupid man on earth would sell it for such prices.what do you think?for me a sign some people try to make fast money.

Laz will not authenticate them, so you are basically buying the image, and perhaps the story the seller gives about where it came from.

Nor is the one you robbed from the streets... the ones you've seen are real. worth between 500-1000 quid. Which is precisely what yours is worth ;D

2 outside banksys in 1 week?, by artpartment on Oct 17, 2007 20:21:45 GMT 1, i am also wondering that they are no documentation of the rats in urban spaces no pics of the walls where the have taken off.my rat was photographed allready in 2003 a time where no one new who banksy was.in a city like vienna where no one would go around and copy a no name artist. and after all i didnt went around and stole it but i receaved it from the austrian electricy company official.

Be fair to him Nu - artpartment has explained before how he got his. He went to the electricity board when they were about to throw it away. It would have either have been scrapped or gone to a good home. I know which one I'd have preferred.

2 outside banksys in 1 week?, by artpartment on Oct 17, 2007 20:47:57 GMT 1, all i want with this thread is that people be aware of fakes .i dont say that each banksy rat here is a fake but i want that the people think twice before bidding .ask the seller exactly the pictures where it was hanging and not only pics of and old door and a story behind.so its easyer for the buyer to get some more information in forums etc (if people saw the rat before etc).
