Googled Banksy glitter gorilla once again, to ensure myself of any misunderstandings. It's a work of art done by Banksy? It's not street vandalism clever or fun in any way to realise the print without permission from Banksy. What is wrong with you all?
where is it a work of art?
its already on ebay on canvas, mugs tshirts and wallets.

Banksy is an artist and even though he has used other peoples images in his work.
as in Morons and other images.
Some say he stole from Blek and Gagnon too.
His mate Damien Hirst has been outed as a plagiarist as well.
His mate Brainwash steals other peoples images as well.
People don't care about the people who have had their images stolen by Banksy Hirst and Brainwash because they don't know who created the original images and when they were created.
Others are Banksy fans and like Banksy and his Robin Hood type antics.
He added his Banksy bit to each image.
He wants to promote himself as some kind of urban art guerilla when in reality he is a business with a PR team and a lot of hype.
He will continue to milk this image and hype as long as he feels like it and a lot of people rely on Banksy for a living.
Same goes for the other so called artists that plagiarise and copy and they are very quick to sue if someone uses one of their images.
Banksy prints are desirable (to some) and the images in the prints quite recognisable.
His prices have shot up thanks to people with money to invest and set aside against tax.
and people are having Banksy print withdrawel symptons.
The Banksy thing and his fans are a bit like Star Trek fans who create their own storylines and costumes and garage kits in order to feel part of something.
Fed made a very nice twin towers tribute print in a very low quantity which he gave away for free.
and Fed is a big an of Banksy.
The gorilla print proposed by Fed for charity is from what I can see a fan print or tribute.
There are lots of tribute bands out there who make money from impersonating a band or singer.
There are also lots of lookalikes as well who impersonate celebrities and actors etc.
I havent seen a Banksy tribute lookalike yet and there could be a niche in the market here.
Fed could dress up in a hoodie and monkey mask and randomly come round to your gaff and spray a stencil on your wall.

The project seems to just be a bit of fun and it will no doubt be for a good cause, so go ahead and make it. Just stick a stamp on it somewhere with your name on it or something like 'a tribute to Banksy'. It seems that money is sucking the life out of this forum. Edit, should've added, you don't need to be validated eby this forum. I'd hazard a guess that there are way more banksy fans in the world that have not been on here than have and might want to buy your charity print. I just took a long hard look at myself and this idea is still ripping off a Banksy print. I'm sure the artist as well as the staff at Pest Control are sick and tired of 'fans' that take it upon themselves to second guess what Banksy would think of their misguided attempts at representing the artists ideas, and using charity to attach your name to the artist definitely doesn't validate it or make it OK, in fact using charity in this way would potentially wind them up more than anything. I wouldn't be surprised if the legal team connected with PC get involved, not by sending a friendly warning either! Fed/Pepper Spray - unless the artist invites you to print and sell this image on their behalf you are walking on very thin ice. Careful now! I'm sure that behind the scènes they are very protective of Brand and image banksy.
Who knows what the future holds.
It's possible that in the future they could have a change of business ideology based on the market and rigourously pursue people who infringed on Banksy copyright years before.
Or it could be that they do nothing.
At the moment the way I see it is that Banksy art is Banksy copyright and if he ripped off anyone elses images it's up to them to pursue it with him.
and also that if anyone ripped off Banksy today and he and his team sue dthem for breach of copyright then Banksy would come across as a hypocrit.
but in a few years who knows? (people have short memories)

and make a seperate mask covered in glitter out of paper.

U know sort ov Grilla Kate moss.
and you can let the buyer choose what color glitta they want on the mask.
(and for a special edition throw in a feather a big peacock feather which they can put........)

That's a step in the right direction. again, I haven't made any concrete decision either way, but I'll let you all in on some of the thoughts that popped into my head while thinking about the best way to move forward -Pest Control = POW (look at who signs the COA's). They're a company that Banksy has little or nothing to do with anymore. They have their own financial interests to protect. My thoughts on this relationship probably belongs in it's own thread -I should have never said this had anything to do with Pepper Spray. Should have just called it a tribute piece by myself. Did that with the Twin Towers prints and everyone seemed happy. That was my mistake -Did the creators of this forum get Banksy's permission to use his name? a forum that we all use, that has ads, that generates revenue using his name (I don't know the answer to this one, but I'd like to know) -someone on here made Sirens of the Lambs t-shirts last year, and I don't think there was a single negative response to it -There was no "clean" image of the Gorilla print so a lot of Photoshop manipulation had to happen to get it to look right as a screen print. So yes, some artistry went into making these -Did Banksy ask permission before using the images for Applause, Morons, flags, etc ? -There's always a lot of sales threads on here saying "I need to sell my Banksy prints, stored flat, never framed in the 8 years I've owned the print, to pay for a down payment on my house" or similar. Personally, I think treating Banksy prints as a commodity is a far worse offense than trying to have a bit of fun for a good cause -the people I consulted before making the first test prints are people who's opinions I cherish. And they're people who are in a better position than myself to judge what Banksy would think of this -the old adage "It's better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission" ha! Also, I really don't get why anyone would take personal offense to any of this? If you like the idea, cool, get one. If not, don't time for some coffee. Just print a gorilla without a mask.
and make a seperate mask covered in glitter out of paper.
Send the two items in one package and let the buyer stick the mask on the gorilla themselves.
easy peasy lemon squeezy an no copyright issues.
ps
and a front facing gorilla looks better anyway and if you want some leeepstik on the gorillas mouth we giv you leepstik too.
Let's be honest he has a good point.... can't argue with that @federationofideas! and i meant also Fed doing an original artwork of a front facing gorilla as well, so that the whole thing is original.
My original airbrush art is copyright to me and unlike Banksy I do believe in copyright and crediting the artist.
Freehand airbrush better than Banksy Brainwash and Fairey.
Ploppi orignals coming up in some auctions in UK this year.

Even if it's not for profit for personal gain, what do you think would be the reason for people to pay money for this Glitter Gorilla Not By Banksy print? Isn't the thruth simple as, people will pay for it believing it has to do with Banksy, and then we are down on thin ice. I think it's withdrawel symptons.
People have become addicted to Banksy prints and because he hasn't released anything, they need a fix.
