NEW Logo for the Hackney Looting Team, by johnnyh on Aug 4, 2012 9:59:23 GMT 1, Congrats PE and a much better Finnish.
"Last minute maneuver to take put the young pretender and go for Gold" to coin a recent commentator phrase.
With the Bristol badminton player being disqualified for bringing the sport into disrepute and not spraying in the Olympic spirit ;D

NEW Logo for the Hackney Looting Team, by Pure Evil on Aug 6, 2012 13:12:14 GMT 1,
I originally did the image on August 10th last year as a response to the riots and looting in London…
HERE….. (note the date)

I put it out online and it went viral… about 1 million people viewed the image, people reposted it everywhere… (12 months ago · 1,007,362 views · 201.95 GB bandwidth)
imgur.com/YER86 (please note my PURE EVIL bunny on the cap)
Later on somebody calling himself NO COMMENT did a stencil of it in Bristol… I challenged him about it and said "Thanks for cutting the stencil man" and his reply was something like "Sorry, just wanted to get it out on the street"
Artwork by Criminal Chalkist & No Comment. Westmoreland House, Stokes Croft.

Then later on, they put it out as a canvas and started to put out prints of it…
I contacted a gallery in Bristol that was selling the canvases and asked them to pull them, which they did… They said ‘he’s just a kid’ about NOCOMMENT which is no defense.. Picasso was a kid when he painted some of the most amazing artworks, and they were all original works .
...Unlike NOCOMMENT’s effort above.. The stencil work is terrible.. the elongated leg has been stuck on with no extra grey highlights and a grey fan seems to be poking out of his left pocket.. the legs have been switched.. and the red ring, oh god it looks like a flaccid bicycle tyre. Theres a little N shaped squiggle on the left knee that’s seen on the right knee of the original image , which shows it has just been flipped. It just looks so wrong, and 'FUGLY'. Previous NOCOMMENT artworks show the same lack of skill and general 'fugliness'…
Then ‘Criminal Chalkist’ started showing up, crediting himself for the artwork with NOCOMMENT..

I challenged them again about the blatant plagiarism that I felt they were guilty of and ‘Criminal Chalkist’ suggested that they had probably come up with the same idea at the same time as me.. which contradicts what NO COMMENT had originally said….
I also asked them to provide the original source image for the looter which he couldn't… I know where I found the image of the looter guy… and they have no idea... I have the original files of the creation of the artwork which date from August 9 + 10 2011 so that predates any creation of their work..
Amusingly the original image is from a G4S website (see below) .. I do admit to stealing that myself and badly photoshopping out the background, adding a ring and a bunny logo to his baseball cap.
Since then I just decided to take it back off them on the street….
I hope that clears that up….

do you really think I would rip off another street artist so blatantly ? Its inconceivable that they would have the gall to do something like this….
