Great to see some forum members there, made the time queuing go a bit quicker. Does this print have a name that people know of?
Prince Philip? ;D

Mr Brainwash London Show - July 12th, by harryh74 on Aug 5, 2012 20:50:54 GMT 1, A few photos. It was an event, shall I just say that. I think if you are in London it would be a silly move not to pop along and have a look. Massive space not over filled just well done on a big scale. I wasn't moved to get the credit card out but really glad I went.
Sorry Sacked no prints, and the posters were not worth the queue. Wiz I tried to get the hat but it's stuck fast, I could only manage to have a quick grab and then run from security.

Mr Brainwash London Show - July 12th, by nex on Aug 6, 2012 1:31:08 GMT 1, that was my point people...do not take it all so literally and seriously...he certainly doesn't... He epitomises the very worst aspects of "showbiz' soyouthinkyuocandance culture.
Surely this is an artist statement in itself? Step back, look at how easily people are won over by the chance to get something for free, by fame, by association, by homogenised populist imagery and see that the 'art' is the show, the message is how far we've fallen. It's not that life is beautiful, it's that life is cyclical, life is manipulated, life is learning this. Whether this is meant or not, there's no getting away from something much darker lying at the heart of this.

Mr Brainwash London Show - July 12th, by tobomoore on Aug 6, 2012 1:53:13 GMT 1, Popped in there at about 6pm on my way to the quarter finals of the women's beach volleyball. They were still giving out posters of some of his images (I got the queen with spray can one) and Thierry was sitting in a chair, with a huge queue of people, signing every single one and having his photo taken. One of the security guys said he had done his all day. Surely he has to be given respect for that. Really nice, friendly guy, and really enjoyable hour looking round the show.

Well put. I think you're spot on. I'm still looking at MBW as a living piece of art, brought to life by Banksy. But that's the fun of it, right?

I'm with Nu on this, what a terrible end to sterrt art when its taken over by our the hungry celebrity driven culture.

Isnt "Street Art" allowed to evolve and diversify then?, also how will we know when it is actually dead?.

I tend to lean another direction. I think it's great that artist have found a natural growth process that will afford them means of survival or success. The challenge for talented artists is to remain connected to their inspiration as they get swept up in art culture.
With the birth of the Internet, a talented artist can succeed with out gallery representation and have fans worldwide. It's a rather exciting time IMHO.
On the other hand, there will always be sell outs.

Mr Brainwash London Show - July 12th, by Deleted on Aug 6, 2012 11:49:25 GMT 1, so is art only available to the Artistically knowledgeable elite?, are people with access to an inheritance and / or those who are not as educated in art as you obviously are to be denied buying into what they actually like?.

I think he was more trying to make the point that if you have money, you can almost acheive anything or even be perceieved as achieving good things. They say money doesnt buy success, but it certainly pays for 30 artists to attempt it.
